Re: Bored on a late shift . . .

Hoult

Arnison (really struggling already)
Foster
Miller
Giddings

Devitt
Lumsdon
Smith
Mulligan

Main
Collins

Basically, we've struggled for wingers, full-backs and forwards all season. This has been our downfall. Not being able to keep Hoult for longer has also been a problem.

Re: Victory for Banks

Quite. People should have the right to keep their own money somewhere safe without being charged, therefore the only way banks can make money is by charging things like overdrafts. Lloyds have (annoyingly) made a tidy profit from me over the past five months because I was misinformed by one of thei...

We cannot really do much worse at the moment so new arrivals, Milne and Harsley, should go straight in to the team. Mine would be ... LIVERSEDGE MILNE FOSTER MILLER GIDDINGS MULLIGAN DAVIS HARSLEY J. u reckon we could survive with 0-0 every week then???? As others have said, yes we would. 46 points is more than we're on track for at the moment, so if we kept a clean sheet every week, then regardless of how many we scored (and bare in mind our leading scorer has two (yes 2) goals this season), w...

Re: Gary Kelly

Didn't he retire through injury because Leeds wouldn't give him the treatment he needed?

Basically he was on a long contract when they were relegated, and they wanted shot to get him off the wage bill, so they allegedly forced him into retirement.

I'm sure I heard something along those lines anyway.

I'd also take him back in our current team. We lack any real threat down the wings and he could cause problems on his day. I'm sure he wouldn't be averse to coming back either as he was openly fond of the club. Sounded like he is popular at Morecambe from the way their commentators talked about him ...

Re: Team tonight vs Gateshead

Plummer didn't start off badly but his most recent performances have been truly awful. Bower is surely a better option at centre half given he has forged a pretty decent career out of playing there. It speaks volumes that Colin Todd signed him to play left back. Arnison has forged a pretty decent c...

Staunton keeps bringing French trialists in.

Re: Team tonight vs Gateshead

I'd be surprised if this is the team, as I've heard Plummer is training with another club. Can't see Convery, Arnison and Bennett playing as their departure is imminent, if they haven't left already. My guess is Staunton has some more triallists lined up for tonight. Strange how quickly Plummer's s...

I did have that whole leg of the play-offs, but recently deleted it off the sky+ by mistake. Gutted. Its a shame there probably isn't much footage of our glory days, particularly the Gabbas period. I wonder if the Quakerworld archives still have stuff from the last couple of seasons though - I might...

You've missed ability of the list.

Thorpe and Thomas have height and strength, but seemingly it is ability thats lacking. Collins seems like the best we've found so far, but I can't see us keeping him. At least he's found the net a couple of times.

Re: Forget tonight

A keeper is absolutely the biggest factor. Interesting to see Pilkington went on loan to Luton last week, meaning Hoult is now definitely 2nd choice at County. Pilkington is only covering for Mark Tyler who is currently injured though, so I wonder if a move for Pilkington/Hoult could be a good optio...

I've just read from the bottom of the board to the top

It is quite an apt commentary of the evening, starting with 'Come on Darlo', and slowly regressing to 'The worst performance for many a year' and suchlike.

We were crying out for a ball player in the midfield, a bit of craft and guile and i know he's not everyone's cup of Tea but Gary Smith offers that. Steve Staunton you are a TIT of the highest order and you have'nt got a clue. Your substitutions were clueless and cost us any chance of at least a po...

Easier said than done. Tonight was a shambles all over the park. We don't need one or two experienced players we need 6 or 7 to have any chance of survival which is looking very unlikely. It's already been said that Staunton can't bring players in until other players leave the club, but I doubt the...

Im sure he does recognise we need some experience in the side. Unfortunately experience costs money, which we dont have!! Forget tonight

So it was s***. Possibly one of the worst performances for some time if many are to be believed. But we have shown slight improvement under Staunton. We've become more threatening going forward, whereas under Todd we'd struggle to get shot in 90 minutes. Staunton has been fairly ruthless in getting ...
