Re: Simply not good enough
Let’s remember that DJ and others have said we’re at least thinking about some sort of hybrid model next season. If we are, I’d have thought we’d want to start from a stronger financial position than usual rather than spending everything. So maybe there’s a longer term plan. Sent from my iPhone usin...

Funny - that’s the third person I know of where that happened.Darlo_Pete wrote:I programmed to record the match & then when I got home for some reason it hadn't recorded it. If we'd won I'd have been very annoyed.

I think Hedley has a one match ban this Saturday. Surce: SuperLes!Vodka_Vic wrote:Laing will be playing won't he, as Liddle is injured and Hedley is suspended.
So we have no first teamers apart from a goalkeeper.

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper
Nice problem to have. The starting 11 are all contributing, Thompson looked good when he came on at the weekend and I have to say Donowa looks the business every time he gets on the pitch at the moment. Almost scored again on Saturday with what would have been the best back heel since Les McJannet! ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget
Well all I’d say is that defensively we have gone from looking really shaky and vulnerable to extremely solid and controlled. That could be the effect of Connell replacing Elliott, the emergence of Storey, or the return of Wheatley to add protection but it has made us look a totally different propos...

Re: Hereford....
Not a bad game to watch, very frustrating at times, can’t blame Hereford for their tactics they did well to hang on. Thought our lads played well, just seem to run out of ideas. The only thing I think we missed today was the Laing type passes from the back, O’Neill and Campbell were making some gre...

There’s no chance of 4 or 5000 there. They’ll view it like we would a game against Mickleover or someone. They couldn’t be less interested in it.

Re: Fans forum needed
It might be just me but I'm not really sure what you are suggesting with this post and why it needs a fans forum and what "if true it is worrying" means. And why we need an immediate update on finances. As a fan owned club I feel it’s time for an update as I’ve heard rumours of investment which is ...

Since our board and DFCSG infrastructure group have been working on this for ages wouldn’t it be a solid idea to wait to hear what they have to say when the time is right?

The second goal was horrible defending and for the third we are too timid when the ball falls to their forward.

Depends on the numbers and where we can be most successful. Not that interested in the aesthetics of it, more interested in where we can be the most stable and grow from.

There was a decent run of games in Heaton’s last spell where he was laughably good. Won everything, distributed the ball effortlessly and barely looked like he was breaking sweat. It was no surprise we got decent money for him.

Re: What is clear....
The soccer centre was about much more than an academy I don't doubt that but the fact that some of its funding would have been from the academy side of it could have made the difference between being viable or not. Other than the word “academy” being used in the title it was really nothing like eit...

Good afternoon all, This is a 100% genuine post, which I've been asked to put here by Brad Groves. I'm Adam Brown, Head of PR & Media at Spennymoor Town. Brad has been in touch with the Northern Echo this morning to voice his disappointment in the quote about "Darlington's Demise". His complaint ce...

Haven’t read it but I’m not really too bothered about them. Wouldn’t mind if they go up, actually think Jason Ainsley seems an alright fella to me. Hard to think of them as rivals although I do enjoy the away games at their place. True fact: I just realised I have never met a Spennymoor fan live. I’...

Well of course, but realistically there are several managers we could bring in with much more experience of this level and a history of building solid teams and getting results. Like I said, he would be a massive risk. Yeah to be honest I’m not thinking of anyone in particular but I’m extremely ope...

Re: New Manager Poll
Ah, my mistake. Still, 2 whole leagues. Surely the principles he has successfully applied at Dunston are transferable to a higher league team? We bang on about utilising the NL more for young upcoming players, yet I would think the gulf in quality is less relevant to a manager than a player. 2 whol...

Re: Next season
I’m by no means sticking up for anyone but if we’re comparing budgets then you have to surely include the players Wright has sold? He has a pretty big transfer surplus. Not saying that has a relevance to whether he’s the right man for the job but it is surely relevant if we’re comparing with Gray. S...

Re: FANS NETCAFE -this Friday evening.
I wouldn't say a total disaster as I think Nicholson and Elliott are good players and an asset. However Burn has proved to be a terrible signing, Maddison was a poor signing as was Henshall, Ainge was signed as a striker but that never worked out although he is a very effective central defender, wh...

I’ve said I’m back in too. I’m hoping we can have a better summer’s activity with a few less risks and a bit more science, but nonetheless I’ll be continuing.
