Re: The Arena

Does anyone know why the Falcons are/were considering the Arena anyway? I used to work just over the road from the Kingston Park ground which is quite a tidy little place. I fail to see why they would want to move a decently, but not massively, supported rugby team out of a perfectly good site in t...

Re: The proposed plan ?- moving forward !! (in a nutshell)

Proposed plans ? Groundshare for 1 season Come back to Darlington and play at Blackwell Meadows - which is reportedly being re-developed. Might have something to do with this Google Darlington Borough Council Core Strategy and point 8.2.4 alludes to this ? http://www.planvu.co.uk/dbc/written/cs/cpt...

agree with you there Q. I would love to know how much we have paid our commercial people over the years, because I bet they don't make us much

watch i horror at a bad outcome being made worse it seems to me (a first time poster but regular visitor to the arena) the descision to play at shildon. There is no doubt in my mind a club cannot carry the burden of cost the arena has,so the club must find a temporary stadium to play at ,shildon is ...

Re: Shildon and Evostik 1 = All but Phoenix Club

If this is the outcome, why bother with all the fund raising, save Darlo etc. etc.? The people of this town who pledged hard cash have been completely misled. What we are going to be left with could have been delivered by being liquidated in January and the Taylors/Trust (God Forbid) taking charge....

Re: its a simple question ?

I think 1883 sold an unrealistic scenario. Everything was going to be fine, we'd run the club at break even, we'd be able to pay off all the debt, and we'd finally make money from the stadium. I guess now people feel a bit let down, but the reality was that is was never going to work. We'll lose so...

Re: (Gazette) Darlington FC may be on move from The Arena

That'll be me done with it all unfortunately. I only get to 5-8 regular season home games as it is. Driving 4 hours to Darlington is one thing, driving a bit further to end up in Shildon or Bish can fuck right off. But what if it's just a temporary thing, say for one season? Yes if it was for one s...

I dont know what to make of this, I can see the benefit of having a backup plan but moving out of Darlo with no money or hope of quickly (if Ever) returning to the town is not a plan at all...... its suicide, a community club not based in its community  If that`s the future then I am out... ...

Re: Potential stadium move

The big question is if we play there, will we ever leave? I really hope this is all contingency planning and that our home will remain the Arena, for the short/medium term at least. My main concern is that if we play at a ground below BSN level, we'll never be promoted and then we'll just be anothe...

I'd take a look at a lot of them, considering we might be in evo stik.

Gate and Moore would be excellent.

Shame Fisher didn't get released.

Take a look at York's released list when that is done too

Any groundshare must be temporary otherwise IMO the club is finished! I'd rather we started again right at the bottom tier from scratch as long as it meant football being played in the town! As darlo fans we just have to accept that the next couple of seasons is going to be tough.

Lets keep the faith, lets keep supporting them and hopefully we can get back up.

Lets also see what the next few days bring before we make uninformed opinions. (or will i get shot down for saying this)

Re: Pre-Season Friendlies

I think that we'll struggle to get any friendlies against bigger clubs, as most if not all of them have sorted out there pre-season freindly schedule before now. there is also a danger that if we do get a friendly against a bigger club, that they may only send a youth team, due to our fall down the...

I spoke to Liddle about Lambert a few weeks ago, he basically said that he has great talent but physically can't handle more than 15-20 mins in an ideal world. The same happened with Harrison, if he didnt stop him when he did, he'd have been out for 11 months rather than 2-3 months. Thank you very m...
