Re: Northern Echo Arena
Houghton couldn't get the private investment needed to complete the project due to the financial crash which also scuppered the cash going into the team Not entirely correct. You’ll recall S&S ended up as owners of the Arena as a result of their funding. The failure to lift the covenant and secure ...

Re: Darlington v Harrogate Match Thread
Makes you wonder how many fans played the game. You start with a poor squad, bring in half a new team, new management and expect instant greatness. Time to get real

Re: Our accounts
The fan offer was the last bid standing so had all the cards. HM knew how to play a hand of cards. Such a shame he’s not with us, a fine man. The logic behind paying the football debt was fine during a negotiation, just a shame RS wouldn’t assign us the FA membership. The FA just played it by the ru...

Re: Our accounts
Not correct. There were two aspects in play. Continuity in terms of Company Law and continuity of FA Membership. We retained continuity in the sense of a business by buying the assets from the administrator ie rights to the badge, shirt colours, brand, player sell-on rights, pitch covers etc. We cou...

Re: Our accounts
The payment of the football debt and completing the season were entirely unrelated. The football debt payment was to protect the FA membership under their rules. Ultimately when RS refused to consent to the transfer of the membership he made the repayment of the football debt pointless. A gesture to...

Re: Our accounts
We only paid off the football debt in an attempt to retain our FA membership, something the FA neglected to take into consideration when treating us as a new club. An expensive folly in hindsight. We got our continuity through the purchase of the assets of the previous company and in particular the ...

Are our accounts published anywhere? It's just I stumbled upon this http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Annual-Review-and-Accounts-20151.pdf And it made for interesting reading. Re: Welcome Greg Mills and Luke Trotman
Looking forward to TW actually building a team again. The start of the season was bizarre. We had player after player signed up. Some of them appeared once or twice or not at all. It was like a revolving door. MG at times seemed to sign players because they were available, regardless of whether we ...

Re: Tough times
Bang on Don’t buy the Sun. Put Brown, Hunter and Beck in that team and its a different ball game. TW has inherited the result of Gray’s haphazard signings which shows in a squad with no balance. Compare with how Ainsley over at Spenny has build a squad.

My point still stands, 100 off the gate every game is £1,400 per game across say 30 home games is £40k per season.

Re: Fans Radio
So for home games it could be taking 100 to 200 off the gate? At £14 a head over the season this must be costing the club £20k to £30k a season?

When the neck end of £100k goes into the pockets of the coaching staff it takes a chunk out of the playing budget.

Don't bet on it and we need absolute transparency on this. No hiding behind 'commercial sensitivity' from the club Board.
