Re: Reality
Under Tommy Wright's reign we flirted with relegation a little bit but I thought we had the players to get us enough points. Guys, the reality is, we have one foot in the next division already. I cannot see us getting out of this. We do not have goals in our team, midfield and attack. We need to ha...

This will be tougher than it looks on paper. Their home form is crap, but of their 6 home games they have played 4 of the teams you’d expect to be in the playoff mix at the end of the season

Re: The Last 6 Fixtures vs Next 6 Fixtures Comparison
For me the next 2 games are crucial. A minimum of 4 points are needed from these as Chester and Chorley will be very difficult. We currently need to be hitting fractionally over 1.3 points per game from now on the get to 50 points to have a chance of safety. Every game we fail to hit that increases ...

This whole thread is a bit s*** I.M.O. This malaise we are in, I mean it's not new is it! I’m not writing anything startling here by stating that the malaise started at the beginning of the year when Beck and others left, but what stuck in my mind then, and still rankles me a bit now, is the follow...

Who would folk want in instead of josh? Not sure I'd trust this board to make another appointment, and I don't think DJ has much understanding of football to be fair. Do an impressive powerpoint presentation and you could have it yourself. I have had concerns over the recruitment process. Did they ...

Re: Spennymoor
How come we started the game without a recognised centre-back on the bench and left two fit centre-backs out of the squad? So that when Lawlor was injured we had to move Platt from midfield into defence. Isn't it just basic stuff to have some cover in the way Spenny did? Because he is a terrible ma...

Re: Spennymoor
Thought we started quite well, and Spennymoor’s first goal came rather against the run of play. Looked like an error from Robson, but he might have been unsighted by defenders lying too deep and not closing down quickly enough. He certainly redeemed himself in the second half making several excelle...

Far too many incomings for my liking. Getting 09/10 vibes from this season so far. Another kid who has had very little football experience. This isn’t going to get us out of this hole. Re: Tommy Taylor
A new manager coming in wants to do it his way, a think a lot of the current squad are heading for the exit door - 3 wins in 28 tells me that ain't a bad thing. Exactly. Given how terrible we've been this calendar year, I won't lose any sleep over many of the players moving on. I'm increasingly of ...

Anyone else getting 2009/10 vibes when Steve Staunton took over?! Wonderful to see young Simms being written off after 45 minutes of football. He's probably not played an awful lot of football so might need to build up some fitness, and by the sounds of it had bollock all service either. Lets give him a couple of weeks before we start claiming he'll never be good...

Re: Hypothetical ownership structure
Accrington Stanley chairman Andy Holt's tweets are worth a read from last night. A seemingly benevolent owner who has put significant sums into the club through playing squad and infrastructure development who has now decided he's had enough. Things really can change for clubs under a single owner ...

Re: Banbury Utd - away
If we can’t put a decent defensive performance in tomorrow then we are in a world of trouble. Banbury have failed to score in 7 out of 12 league games this season, have only scored in 2 of 6 games at home, and have the joint lowest goals scored in the division (even worse than ours!). Bring on the 1...

Re: Questions from the Board Update
Tommy is absolutely fine for this level. The reason he isn’t at a higher level is due to some frailties in his game. That’s the level we’re at. He shouldn’t have been dropped for a kid from an academy who looks very weak. The fact Gowling said he has done nothing wrong but was dropped anyway feels l...

Boston do train in Boston , they use the 4g built next to the ground That was why Platt left wasn't it due to that move. Barrow still train in Manchester. Barrow was the example I thought of. Weren’t we planning on training in Catterick to increase the player pool that could get to training easily,...

Would it be the worst idea in the world to invite these 2 lads to train with us for a couple of weeks ? From memory Tyrone could at least hold the ball up and bring others into the game, something we are definitely missing at the moment. We just don’t have anyone up front who can hold on to the bal...

What really worried me today is how s*** Gloucester are, and it took a penalty to draw with them. There are probably only 2 or 3 players I’d have in a squad out of our current bunch, it’s really that bad.

Re: Alun has been sacked
Not Watson for me, watched a few of the games at York when he was there, he was given loads of money to spend and football was poor in the games I watched, soon lost the fans there with his pre and post match interviews and spats with fans at the games. Nor Gray, never bought into the budget bit of...

A really poor game that we were very lucky to escape from with a point. I’m keen to see the replay but there didn’t look much wrong with their disallowed goal. The post match interview is hideous, Alun is either watching different games or is wilfully taking the piss. No way was that a decent perfor...

Re: Scunthorpe Away 15/08/23
Last night was not brilliant, but not as bad as some paint it, the majority of the team worked there socks off against a good team that has recruited well with a big budget,(which they may not have had as I was told they were delayed in paying there players this month). In the first half we matched...
