Re: Match thread today

It's not a bad point in the grand scheme of things. But i think we can all identify that we aren't the team we were when we were giving Harrogate a footballing lesson away. For me today I thought Galbraith had a poor game. Usually a fairly solid performer but unfortunately beaten too many times on t...

On a slightly different note. Are there any pictures of the names on the dug outs? Been excited to see these since the scheme was announced.

Re: Telford ~ Match thread

Disappointing result today. Certainly let down by a rush of blood. But hey over a season it happens. You can't look at these things in isolation as without him against Tamworth we could have conceded 5. In terms of other thoughts from today. Don't understand why we played 5 in midfield against a low...

Re: Darlo v Fylde Match Thread

I don't think we'll see much more of that formation. Although it seemed like it was effective I don't think there are that many teams in this league that MG 'fears'. It was a classic Fergie etc tactic any game you are worried you might lose pack the Midfield with 5 look to break down the game in the...

A run of Blyth, York and then Gateshead could ensure very high crowds along the way and top up any prize money we won.

Re: Full time

It's always an interesting question. You often hear about full-time and part time sides. But I have often wondered if any clubs operate on a mixed basis. Having a small core squad of 12-14 FT pros. Topped up by kids who may be able to train mote often and with those who remaining part time is a bett...

Re: Pre Blackwell Meadows beers

These schemes Might not please everyone but they are pragmatic and there are some impressive revenue figures in there. Car parking 125 £50 season tickets plus 125 spaces league parking to the end of the season Is circa £12,500 realise that this doesn't all go to the club but it's good revenue. In ad...

Re: Tamworth

I think tbh with the levels we aspire to the youtube thing is a bit of a nothing point plenty of teams in this league and the one above will have scouts. It doesn't change anything. Anyone who wants to know how we play could have watched us in the northern league season. We still play the same. Most...

Re: Seats at BM

While i like the idea of promising our fans their own piece of BM, i think the club has to be very careful about promising away any future income. By all means put names on seats but this should not take away season ticket money from playing budget.

Re: Players Transfer Listed

Not too surprised about Amar found it tough to break into the side, doesn't have the physical attributed of Beck and doesn't have the finishing capabilities of Cartman or Hardy. And if that's how we're going to play then we need someone who fits more into those molds. As for Mitch it's a shame. Thin...

Re: Erections at BM

Would take more than extending the seated stand and a half length terrace at the 'Reg vardy' end. That would give us circa 600 seats (total), 1000 in the tin shed and circa 6-700 in the Reg Vardy end. That only makes 2,300 so there must be a good few hundred for the gaps on the flat standing. The cl...

Re: Buy the Dugouts

I wonder how much this has been marketed to rugby club members? In all the excitement of going home it's easy to forget they will be playing there too and what a great way to invest in a long lasting piece of the ground as well as promoting co-operation and long lasting relationships between the clu...

Re: 7th Oct Fans Forum

Seems to me that a decent run in the FA Trophy will be very important and a timely boost at the back-end of November. £4k for the winners of our tie not to be sniffed at, plus the potential of a home game in Darlington. Think this is a key point. While the prize money may not be as good, the gate m...

Re: Brackley v Darlo Match updates

Good end to end game yesterday against tough opposition. A point away against a top half side is never to be sniffed at but after leading twice from two absolute pearlers it feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth. Brackley played on the counter attack and their wingers and Forwards were incredibly ...

Haven't seen one so thought I would make a thread for those who are unable to attend to list questions if anyone who is attending would be kind enough to ask them that would be great. Re: Reserve Team ?

Don't know the full details of this but I too would be worried about cost and the implications of doing this. Much rather develop good relationships with a northern league club to use as a feeder club for loans. Keep us free of any additional cost and keep concentration on the first team at BM and g...

Re: Darlo v Stalybridge match thread

Good solid win yesterday considering the injuries we still have in defence. The addition of Falkringham seems to have been a shrewd move but gives us even more competition for places in an area where we have been fairly heavily saturated. Thompson and Gillies give us a big threat down the sides and ...

Re: Lancaster v Darlo Match Thread

Very disapointing result yesterday. Even with out injury problems we should have been able to see out that game. By the sounds of it it was a very leggy performance results of injuries and simply playing too many games too close together. Don't think 4-3-3 suits us as a team. Brown hasn't helped our...

Finding it hard not to imagine us with an extra £24,500 in the bank account, getting into the first round proper and getting a sell out tie against Hartlepool. Almost got the catalogue out picking our improvements to BM already.

Looking at that list a tie against the landlords would be a decent tie. Good crowd for both clubs to gain from and a decent chance for us to progress as well. As was said earlier this is a great chance to generate revenue. Money for a cup run and the higher than average crowds we've had so far this ...
