Re: David Knight signs for Histon FC

Good luck to him. I can't fault a player for not being good enough, as long as they are putting effort in. It's a managers fault for signing players that aren't good enough.

It was a brilliant finish though. He did make a mistake, but he is young and is a vast improvement on Liversedge and Knight.

Re: Next 5 Fixtures

Port Vale is the only really winable game out of that lot. Morcambe will be tough, Bradford will have a new manager, Chesterfield and Notts County are good sides. It'll take some very good performances to get anything out of them 4 games. On the plus side, we are now capable of playing well!

it must be a hartlepool thing. Our friend Barnie Pete contacted me today for some nice english lessons. He asked why he was still banned. Re: Staunton Remains Positive

good to see, he's starting to say and do the right things imo now. Agreed. He's impressed me alot since the winter break. He's brought in some good players, who can also play physically too, which is what we need atm. And he is slightly more controlled on the touchline now, which will probably help...

Switzerland and Blugaria should be easier games than Croatia in the WC qualifying. I can see another comfortable qualification. Capello really is a fantastic manager.

Interesting to read that he slipped through Dave Penney's fingers last season. A bit more height in midfield would have improved last year's team and Ricky Ravenhill might have had to fight to keep his place. http://www.darlingtonandstocktontimes.co.uk/sport/football/4994101.Waite_relishes_chance/ ...

Re: Adam Johnson

No I was suggesting that SWP gets picked because he is heavily "sponsored/promoted" by Ian Wright. Nothing at all to do with colour. Then why say "It's amazed me that the England squad hasn't been force-fed an asian player for similar reasons"? Oh, and"I believe that all players in all sports shoul...

Im glad someone else sees SWP for what he is - s*** final ball and utterly useless playing against any decent full backs. Im sick of people responding to criticism of the guy with the old chestnut 'Hes got so much pace, we need players like him who can run at defenders'. Its such bullshit. He has g...

i think tennis is awesome! Behind Darlo, tennis is my favourite spor t(I prefer playing it to football), but I don't really care who wins the 6 nations. Obviously, as an Englishman, I'd prefer it if England won, but I'd just quite like to see some entertaining matches really.

I'd snap him up if we can. Being released may be the kick up the backside he needs, as he obviously has the talent. If he sorts his attitude out, he's got a very bright future in the game. If he doesn't, he'll end up working in McDonalds or something. It's his choice ultimately.

Re: John Terry

I can't see Capello being too happy about what Terry has done, and rightly so. Apart from the moral issues of sleeping with your mates girlfriend AND cheating on your wife, it'll damage team morale no doubt. I can't believe some people are defending what he has done.

He was an improvement, although he didn't look amazing. He had a couple of shakey moments, but NL has been having a couple of dodgy moments every 10 mins recently. Obviously this is only after one game though.

The ref said diop had fouled their kepper (had he sh**e fouled him) from the resulting free kick they ran up and scored. He also didn't pick up on a back pass from their defender to their keeper, surely a free kick to us? I'm a bit unsure about that rule so someone will have to clarify for me. It l...

Re: can we survive in the BSP?

I would feel sorry for the fans that a club has gone down because of a points deduction. However, I'd take it if it meant we stayed up. The teams that finished 6th and 7th last season technically didn't deserve to be in the playoffs (based on points won, not on the fact that they could afford their ...

It is dissapointing for him. He looked like he had lost a lot of weight since photos of his debut, and I was looking forward to seeing if he had that little extra touch of class to score a goal, but it's not to be, and it looks like his profesional football career is over now.

Gray has got something about him, but does need to improve his decision making and right foot as others have said. A few weeks ago I was worried that we would struggle in the BSP next season. After watching last night, and hearing reports of improvement in the Rotherham game, I'm confident we will compete. Probably not be enough to come straight back up, but we'll be top half of the table somewhere. Presuming we...

In his first full season we had a freaky injury situation up front towards the end of the season. We were keeping up with MK Dons and Peterborough until it started. I have no doubt we would have gone up that season without that bad luck with the injuries.

I was right at that end of the pitch so had a very good view of both goals, the first one definately wasn't offside, the 2nd was tight, ive seen them flagged and ive seen them allowed to stand, but the "5 yards" in question is just plain stupid. Both were very soft goals, we were done by a long bal...
