Re: Work on the pitch has started
Point = missed. We don't need him. And now we're paying a player we don't need a wage while he's out injured. And that money could be better spent on building the stand to erm, make us eligible for promotion. So be as pedantic as you want (the fact you have to resort to pedantry shows how many time...

points deduction for not supporting extortion?
what are the league going to do with the money they rip off?
best to see how their money grubbing fails before complying to their greed.
some fans' boycott by all clubs of league sponsors seems appropriate.

We supposedly signed Caton to play up front so i fucking hope not! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Looks to me that Caton is carrying a knock so it may be Fenwick if we bring him in. Plus the way we play we ideally need a big man up top. Front three of Cartman, Gillies and Wearmouth. Saunders ...

Re: Guiseley
First half had a lot of aerial balls trying to find channels, with little or no effect. Second half was with the wind with more balls passed up the flanks, creating more opportunities.Sub Cartman was at his best, but Brown was dominant at the back. Best I have seen from Marrs and Saunders tried and ...

Having a flatter surface will provide more options for attacking play. More scope for ball control, passing and pacy runs.
All Darlo players should benefit with a more predictable bounce at home games.

Re: Martin Gray
If Portas & Wearmouth are both available we will have a strengthened squad. With last season's squad exploits it should put the club in a favourable light with some of the potential players that are available. Gray indicates he wants to sign a few more players next week, so I hope he can get in some...

Re: Most Expensive Darlington Player
No idea but do we get a kickback on this transfer? Something to do with aiding the development of a player. Pretty sure something like this happened before. Only applies in the case of international transfers, where 5% of fee can be claimed as compensation by clubs the player was at between the age...

Anyone who bagged 30 goals at Whitby's level would be welcome, but especially as he was one of our kids. An out & out striker or a more defensive midfielder may be more a likely signing though.

Re: New Signing
Hope there are more signings soon, but...... With luck Portas may be up to his best and be like a new signing on his return. Some present midfield players may have to perform to avoid being freed, or loaned out, as there may not be enough in the kitty to recruit both the midfield & attack anytime so...

Re: Fundraising Ideas
A lot of very local / small initiatives could piloted, say in one pub or firm, and then rolled out by the club, as a suggested part of a general fundraising campaign, if they seem to work
Some Q&A sessions around the area's pubs & clubs could be organised to promote existing and proposed schemes.

Re: Missing £5000
I heard that you needed to cancel your pledge to increase it. I am also informed by DFCSG that investments in community shares are no longer limited to £5,000 as per some document that was showed to members in the past.
Seems like someone has just upped their investment.

Re: Just One
If there was only one new signing a stronger defensive midfielder please. I don't think the centre backs should be taking so much flak, although their man marking wasn't so good. Full backs were at fault for some conceding of goals and a more defensive midfielder seems a must to improve marking, rel...

Re: Players under contract
And I thought close season would be boring! During each season we dispose of and recruit players, so there is flexibility in DFC contracts. If the Boost money isn't in place at season start it may be ready in time for potential Winter time signings. If it isn't available in total, then DFC will just...

Saunders Signs 2 Year Contract
Another player commits to the club.
Hume was already signed up last season.
With a better pitch at BM we will probably see more of these lads getting 1st team action.
I suppose Gillies, Wearmouth & Thompson will appreciate playing and have more options, with the ball, on a far better home surface.

Re: Pitch 2 Seating v Boost the Budget
Both pitches are for the long term, as the Boost the Budget is on Standing Order. The seats are more urgent, as the player budget doesn't need to be finalised until late season when strengthening usually happens. The sooner the pledged totals are reached then the sooner the club can plan ahead and b...

This pitch is not only for next season remember, so it's a great long term investment, by people who care about the club, rather than external opportunists who will eventually take the money and run. With a growing fan base now we are back in town & have a good pitch to play on, this and other incom...

Great news on the 3 re-signings, which added to those players already contracted gives the fans a lot of confidence for next season. With 6 play-off places there's more chance to reach the final mix and have a decent chance to play the Poolie in the Conference proper. The "Boost the Budget" pitch ma...

With 3 club administrations taking money from locals it may have been deemed bad PR to support those responsible (private "investors"). With the present sound and audited management the club could seek out new sizeable sponsorship or share purchase from them, but it may be a case of our previous own...

Lot of attention on expected league position next season, but cups may be an opportunity for some success. Few decent cup runs would help to increase attendances and income. Not saying we will win a cup, but some cup runs would be welcome.

The vast majority want Gray to stay. You're right that we do need to come together and get behind the manager. We also need to do the same with the board and all those who volunteer their time - no more kangaroo courts after a mistake. Constructive criticism yes, but some of the comments aimed at t...

I can forgive MG for a lot, but it was naive to expect Darlo fans to hand over their club to unreliable fantasy peddlers.
