I see Spennymoor play arch cloggers Alfreton tonight. That'll tire them out a bit for Saturday. ;)

Re: Darlo V Scunthorpe

Our players looked to be enjoying themselves on Saturday. The passing was good and we looked fitter and more positive than we’ve been for a long time.

If we can take this form to Tuesday night we’ve got every chance of another win as top team Tamworth didn’t look anything special when they turned up.

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24

Salkeld. Numerous times this season I’ve heard people unfairly slagging him off but yesterday he excelled himself. For the penalty he had no right to get on to the through ball yet he thundered through to claim it, leaving both the covering defender and goalkeeper looking downright dozy. When the ba...

Our second goal was an own goal. We were stood behind that goal and their defender tried to kick it wide but with the speed of events he knocked it in.😀

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24

This game is indeed massive - and huge, enormous, gigantic, very very big, colossal, mammoth, ginormous and hopefully monumental and season defining too. By the end of tomorrow we could be sitting level on points with Banbury and ready to turn over Scunthorpe on Tuesday. In the last ten games we hav...

Crowd as 283 - I would say at least half of that was Darlo fans Isn't that pathetic. Why do they bother? They are putting out and subsidising a service that the locals don't want. If the people running the club can do so without massive losses, are enjoying themselves running a club, and have pride...

I listened on DFR. Didn’t this goalie make two good saves at the end of the match? I think from Salkeld.

Re: Curzon V Darlington

Do you remember Carl Shutt in goal Loan-star?

Not only was he a super ace player on the pitch but when he turned into an emergency keeper he was capable, brave and took no s*** from anyone.

Re: Curzon V Darlington

We still need to try more shots from outside the box as Will showed us the way. Particularly when the opposition keeper is playing on one leg. Don't think I've ever seen a keeper having to carry on when they are as hampered as that by injury. He looked to be in agony. This match last night again sh...

Re: Run-in

In the absence of Ginge and his stat machine, I've had a look at the fixtures for the bottom seven (realistically, the others are clear of being dragged into the relegation places). Even (rose-tintedly) allowing for us having the best record (W4 D5 L2), we still go down on goal difference. Might ne...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

I think we really need to be trying to tie Watson and Mitchell down to be here next season, regardless of which league we are playing in. I think they should be able to build a team that is either capable of holding their own in NLN or being promotion contenders in the league below. I look at this ...

Re: Darlington v Buxton

That was a true “victory for football” 😀

Buxton shot themselves in the foot by pissing about when they could have chosen to play a bit.

There was a funny kit clash today, a little too similar for me.

Also, that vile Hartlepool-ish away kit needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history. Just as much to blame for our relegation as Gowling ;)
Our away form is better than our home form. It’s the lack of MrQ that is costing us.

I’d like to nominate W8Poolie. ;)

Re: Darlington v Buxton

In David Hodgson's book Three Times a Quaker, I'm sure there's a story, possibly 2 stories of players signing up to deals knowing they weren't right.

I don't know if this is the case here but it does happen, according to D.H.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

It's getting very perilous now. I know I sound negative but I'm already half resigned to us going down. I know what you mean. When Armstrong left I felt relatively realistic about things getting turned around, and at that point we seemed to have time on our side but now we're just about out of time....
