Re: Isn't it now time..
Invest more in the youth, sponsor more than kits. Actually make some efforts to bring the club to the community, not leave it all up to the club itself, perhaps do something like put on a free coach or two to each away game - I know this doesnt really get a return on an investment, but it might spar...

Re: Isn't it now time..
The problem is, I put my money in to save darlington in its current form, I have no affinity to the town, and as such, couldnt care less if a new club was formed if 'my' Darlo ceased to exist.

Re: Isn't it now time..
Im a bit confused about the whole trust money thing. I put my money in the buckets when it was stated we needed x amount to keep afloat, I dont recall the bucket holder instructing me it was to be held to set up another club. Though, by that token Im unsure what the cash could actually be used for, ...

Re: Fozzie's contract
Playing devil's advoicate: What if, Foster, in his 20th game of the season, tore his cruciate? He'd get another year's contract, yet wouldn't play for at least 9 months and at his age would be very unlikely to recover to a decent level. The club would be forced to pay him for the duration of the co...

Re: Fozzie's contract
A tribunal?? Darlo have not broken any contract. There is no legal issue here. Yes. they are asking Foster to agree to a change in the terms on the contract, if he dosen't agree then the existing contract stands, and Darlo have NOT broken that contract in any way whatsoever. Not sure on that to be ...

Re: Fozzie's contract
We go down whether we play Foster or not, therefore I see little benefit in playing him and tying him to the club for the next 18 months. We are no different to any other club or business, so I think its a bit harsh to say that this is some kind of "scum move" from Darlo. The scum move is saying te...

Re: Fozzie's contract
Its not slimely or underhand. We are choosing not to play him 20 times this season because the manager & club do not believe him to be worth a contract next season. We had to go public on it because people would be asking why he wasn't being picked anymore. I have no problem with us not playing Fos...

The problem is, his comments are not positive, and are based on a perception against a time when we were throwing a shed load of cash at JS et al. We dont need more negative publicity, we need a positive image portaying as much as possible, if he has facts to back up his observations then fine, but ...

Pete, without being funny, you maintain tallys to do your list, and clearly you will have a list of those that have expressed a wish to be excluded, how on earth is it next to impossible to go through the top 100 list and remove those that dont want to be included?

Re: Great Opportunity For Darlo Fans O/T (sort of)
i cant believe the first few replies to this post, some people on here never cease to amaze me, it'll be good for darlo, if sunderland win the bid we'll probably be used as a training ground. I'm fairly certain I heard Niall Quinn on the radio a good while back saying that we were definitely going ...

Re: For all ex-pats/ Xmas tickets
The problem is people arent likely to admit to not being able to afford to go. I dont go as often as I have due to the cost, and my step-son doesnt come because I certainly cant afford for us both (especially with him not really supporting darlo unfortunately) However I certainly wouldn't put myself...

Re: Any news from the club about how
I actually quite like the idea of entrance fee being based on league position, though would have to be in place at the start of the year, and priced so season tickets arent affected. However, scrapping the £2 for not buying an advance ticket would be a decent gesture by the club, as tbh, as it stan...

Re: If You Were Raj Singh?
I think I would prefer the investment in January in the hope of survival, as long as it wouldn't negatively impact on next years budget.
I think if the investment is available it has to be used to try to preserve our status, as investing extra next year wouldnt guarantee promotion.

Re: Season Tickets Holders Total
No, I was making a tongue in cheek reference to those who get in under a concession that shouldn't. I suppose there probably are a few. The ticket office staff barely ever check up on things like student cards. How does it work with OAPs? Do they need some sort of proof that they're really old? I t...

Re: sunderland goal motd tonight
Though it will be amusing to see what league the referee next officiates, as to be honest he ignored one of the most basic rules. Its his job to stop the game until the offending article is removed. The only reason I can see for the goal actually standing is that the officials thought it deflected o...

Re: Hang On...
From what I've read, he had done some homework on Darlington, the players, where he felt we could get improvements etc.
Its possible he may well not make the best manager, however he has clearly done some research into the team before making his pitch, so probably was a step ahead of everyone else.

The stay aways generally dont have one excuse though, they have backups to fall back on when one cant be used anymore,Quakerz wrote:If your reason for non attendance was Todd, then there is no excuse.

Re: Windass is going to have to be careful
I have it on good authority that Windass is attracting the displeasure of the 4th official whilst he is on the bench, due to his colourful language. My source reckons its only a question of time before he is sent to sit in the stands. Personally if I was a player I don't think I'd react very well t...

Re: The way the club is moving forward-- what do people think??
Good ideas need a starting point, and for me the best idea has been implemented, charge enough so we actually dont lose money. We need to live within our means, and if doing so means not subsidising the pies, charging people £2 for Ron Greener access then so be it. I would rather us play infront of ...

We missed a trick by not charging for this from the onset, this is what caused the upset in the first place, asking why they should pay for something that used to be free.

Knight so far struggles with balls into the box, regardless of height almost! The 2nd goal on Saturday was a huge mistake, and the 3rd I'm still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, be just seemed to stand there and watch it go in. The goal last night, he should of stayed put, he tried to ca...
