Re: Darlington v Banbury Aug 20th

The equaliser looked a carbon copy of the type of goal we’ve conceded in recent seasons. The winning goal was the type I imagined when I heard we’d signed Beck and Hazel. Instead, our crossing so far has been woeful/non-existent. My solution: Taylor Griffiths Wheater Lawlor Sukar/Hedley Moke Purver ...

He took Griffiths off as he was on a yellow card and didn’t dare foul their guy in the build up to their second goal??

Re: Darlington v Banbury Aug 20th

Sounded grim on DFR. Yet again we’re easy to beat and don’t seem capable of grinding out a result when we’re not at our best. Other teams seem better organised on too many occasions

It would be harsh to drop Purver who I thought was very good against Chorley and Southport.

I hope AA does away with the number 10 role as it's not just working.
Agreed re Purver and the No.10. The diamond hasn’t worked imo. We look too narrow. AA mentioned that he can now switch to a 4231

I think Reece Armstrong has appeared as a sub for us. Still counts even if his dad is picking the team 🤣
Yep he came on at Brackley in the second half. Wasn’t it in the game when we were 5-0 down at half time?? Thommo scored a penalty

Re: Southport v Darlo

Got to agree with the above summaries. Not sure where this diamond fad has come from but it’s not really working imo. If we play 442 it gives us options out wide (Felix, Maddison, Lambert, Rivers) but it needs two excellent central midfielders that can both break up play and get forward. The usual cr...

Re: Boston V Darlington

Three points from Craig Elliott’s interview after the game: 1. He said he was confident they’d win possession from us if they pressed us high up the pitch, especially early on 2. He thought the sending off was wrong…that it was a good fair tackle that won the ball 3. He said Alun was wrong to sugges...

Great result. Loved the commentary and constantly wondering if the broadcast or FlashScores will announce a goal first. It was a bit of both tonight. This result will send shockwaves through the non-league pyramid

Problem is most loan players from the FL are youngsters that clubs are looking to blood/toughen up a bit…like Brandon Taylor. What we need may be hard to find. We may have to look lower

Re: Darlo v Bradford PA

I think that's been read correctly too. It seems that he and AA are at loggerheads with each other and the camp does not seem harmonious. That'll hurt Alun because he is always at paims to point out that he wants the right type of player at the club. It also seems that in the close season he took a...

Even Alfreton have made a couple of good striker signings. James Hanson & Dayle Southwell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I tried to persuade Dayle Southwell to sign for us when I bumped into him the other week…he’s mates with Will Hatfield from their Guiseley days. He was still at King’s Lynn ...

Some good and bad stories from last night re: Boston. I live in Lincolnshire so know what was going on on the radio, even though I was watching the live stream and at work today some of my mates who listenend on the radio were talking about it. By all accounts their players were exemplary. However,...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Just seen the highlights. Man, did we miss some chances! Spenny scored with their 1 on 1s, we didn't. That was a bad miss by Adam Campbell. He scores some good goals, but misses some easy ones too. And what was Elliott doing for their first goal! If he'd stayed back, there were covering defenders. ...

Re: Leamington (A)

For me Lambert doesn’t really add a lot. Goal scorers are expensive/rare and every team wants one. AA stated after the Motherwell friendly that big lads up front are even harder to find because the trend in academies of late has been to develop smaller more mobile forwards. As for leadership in defe...
