Re: Darlington FC V Salford

What would you have him say? "I resign" would be ideal. And my replacement is... Interesting if you look at some of the profiles of recently appointed managers in the NLN. Phil Parkinson was recruited from a division below (Evostik Prem) from Nantwich having turned them from strugglers to play-off ...

Re: Darlington FC V Salford

TW and RS came over well in their interviews. I’d love nothing more than a big turnaround in our fortunes, starting this weekend. I have to believe TW is still the man for the job (he was the only candidate by the sounds of it). He wasn't. And if you think Wright's incessant clichefest was impressi...

Re: Darlington FC V Salford

GH I hope you’re right. I’d love TW to turn it round but our record is woeful. I fear something will have to give if we come home empty handed on Saturday Are you implying that the manager gets sacked? If so I disagree. It would mean yet another 3 or 4 week wait with no manager - and then who would...

I’ll be there with Vodka_Vic Saturday, wanting desperately for TW and the lads to get some reward. That reward now has to be 3 points though IMO

Re: Darlington FC V Salford

Nor can I CR but lose at the weekend and DJ will have to act. That would make it 4points from a quarter of a season. No point in thinking seats and budgets if we’re relegated. We’d struggle to recruit again as we’d no longer be the Cinderella club on its way back to good times

Re: Darlington FC V Salford

Saturday is now a must win game. I think the tide will turn against TW if we fail at Alfreton, with even the more optimistic and reasonable fans running out of patience. At what point will DJ intervene? No good raising money to boost next season’s budget if we’re back down in the pub league. Could i...

Re: Darlington FC v York City FC

Now is also the perfect time to play Salford. They're on a poor run. Vic's right about that. I still think we can/will stay up but it's going to go to the wire at this rate and it needn't. The management team ain't going anywhere so talk of alternatives would be daft. Defensive mistakes were a feat...

Re: Extra security measures for Gray on Saturday.

I very much doubt any Darlo fans will be applauding, after he left us up the creek without a paddle. Wanting Raj Singh to invest in the club in order to further his own career knowing full well the history of the man was a total lack of respect to the club and fans. and this above everything else i...

Re: Harrogate V Darlington FC

A very fair assessment Ron. As TW said, we held them at bay for the first 45 but you kinda knew that if they got a lead then there’d be no way back. Annoying thing about the second was that Talbot had ‘done the hard work’ by saving the one on one, only to concede when it almost looked like the dange...

Wonder if it is a York fan who has raised the complaint, will be worse if that is the case.Just listened to his post match "grilling" and seemed to be uncomfortable with many of the questions fired at him.Usual replies, poor in both boxes, should have been 3 up at HT, not closing down, great in tra...

Re: Darlington v Harrogate Match Thread

The poor form was very evident towards the end of Gray's tenure, we are in a transition not only with style of play but players coming and going and we have to accept a season of rebuilding and make sure we are in this league next season.Hard to accept after all our success on the pitch but look at...

Re: Welcome Greg Mills and Luke Trotman

Looking forward to TW actually building a team again. The start of the season was bizarre. We had player after player signed up. Some of them appeared once or twice or not at all. It was like a revolving door. MG at times seemed to sign players because they were available, regardless of whether we ...

He has been appointed as our manager by our board after a rigorous interview process and not some Mike Ashley style booze session. Let’s just give him and them a bit more credit. I would expect people to chant Tommy Wright Wright Wright over and over again, quite right

Ooh is it a good appointment? Some of the Nuneaton fans don’t are glad he’s gone. Ohhh dear, we haven’t got a goalkeeping coach. OMG how will we scout players from County Durham if the manager is based in the midlands? Honestly?? Come on men!

Re: Tommy Wright with Alan White as assistant

It would be more sensible to have a network of people they trust in different regions rather than a set 'scout'. I am really confused about Wright anyway. Had he given up a full time job to relocate for a part time job? Does it really matter if he has left a full time position, he is here now, want...
