Re: Atmosphere today
Got to agree, at times it was almost like being back in the tin shed in Block 18 (or should I say The Craig Liddle Stand), plenty of singing, jokey comments, great view of the 2nd goal, standing up throughout the game and even a bit of argy-bargy at the back! Oh and I've got to thank the bar staff, ...

Fat Clem was really squirming when both Danny Mills and Craig Hignett had a pop at him about Darlo, he didn’t know what to say.

What a cold fish Mr Hodcarrier is. He showed no emotion at all about the town, the club, or the supporters. He even compared buying players to buying a new piece of machinery!

Re: Phoenix Club Name?
Darlington AFC I suppose. Or Darlington (2012) FC.
I do like Locomotive Darlington, but we would be open to such comments as 'the team ran out of steam' etc. in every match report.
We must keep the same colours, and hoops!

Re: Collection Buckets Next Saturday
Just a tip about collecting. When my daughter was at university in Newcastle, she often collected for RAG week at St James’. She collected the highest amount one year by standing with a bucket next to the programme sellers. Passers by who’d just bought a programme already had change in their hand an...

I heard that staff were given 7 weeks to look for another job - and that was 5 weeks ago. Again, I hope this isn't genuine.

What difference does it make to us 'fans' whether Raj tells us this or not? We all know that the club cannot afford to bring in new players, or even pay the ones we've got. This is really no surprise.

That’s the most stupid, inane comment I’ve read on this board for a long time.
MB86DFC, I think you are either on a wind up or are incredibly immature.

I’m not sure if this is genuine but I heard this morning that the Gateshead game will be our last, and that is when Raj is pulling out. Some staff have been told there’s only 7 weeks to go. Probably bollocks I hope.

Jimmy Page may well have played on the record, but Joe used The Greaseband for live shows. Jimmy was a well-used session musician in the mid-sixties and played on many hit records. I think he played on 'It's Not Unusual' by Tom Jones!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yINAVEfZ56k&feature=related In this great video of Joe performing With A Little Help From My Friends live in 1968, he is supported by The Greaseband, the guitarist being Henry McCullough, who later became a member of Paul McCartney’s wings. This is my favourite version...

Mick, thanks for posting this. Always liked The Smiths, and Radiohead are currently the greatest band in the world - yes they are! They also also do a Joy Division cover, who were another favourite of mine. I'm off to see Imelda May tomorrow night which should be good - to listen to and to look at ;)

Re: If Darlo folded, would you follow another team?
I’d probably lose interest in football somewhat. If AFC Darlo rises like a phoenix from the flames I would go to a few games, but if this means starting at the bottom of the football pyramid, I might just end up at Northallerton Town to watch a ‘live’ game.

Some reports say he's dead, others just shot in the legs. No doubt he'll be dead soon one way or the other. As for ending the trouble in Libya, I doubt it, once the various tribes fall out with each other.

Just seen a photo of the crash at the bridge. It looks like the whole of the top deck of the bus was torn off. It's a wonder no one was killed.

If as Love it! says, you can’t use the ticket on Saturday, this means two trips to the stadium for those of us who don’t live in Darlo. This cost uses up any saving on the ticket price. What a shambles.

From BBC website: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed to lift his ban on talking to the BBC. I’m not sure if you were there Q, but I thought the last Forum at Northallerton was very good. I tend to agree that there is something psychological about paying £18 (+£5 to park) to watch a conference game.
