Re: Boston V Darlington
Glad the travelling fans saw a good display, but was it enough to save TW?

What about giving the likes of Maddison, Burn, Henshall a last chance & sticking them in the shop window?

Re: Next season
There is another factor which has not yet been mentioned, there are some clubs that are in a financial mess and could go under. This would cause some gaps all over the leagues that could give a bigger reorganisation. FA need to keep tighter control over clubs' expenditure compared to their income.

Re: Darlington V FC United
Mixture of emotions, relief - that looks like we are staying up, frustration - lack of a CF who can finish off chances we create, pride - the club was saved yet again by the fans, dismay - over the management of the team.
Nevertheless, have renewed my season ticket - must be my heart ruling my head.

Re: Sporting Village
Just to have the name of Darlington mentioned on national TV & radio, every Saturday during the season when they read out the results reminds the rest of the UK we are still here alive and kicking. It is free advertising which is an intangible asset, and currently there seems to be a conspiracy that...

This would be the same "cash strapped" council who have cut staff, services, buses etc? Only lesson to be learned is never trust the council to do anything positive for our club.

Tommy must decide, St.Johnstone or Darlo. He cannot do both, particularly if there is hard Brexit and SNP gain independence.don'tbuythesun wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2019 8:06 pmNonsense, that's not how it's used generally and anyway I've been watching Scottish premier highlights and Tommy Wright is St Johnstone's manager so problem solved.

Re: Darlington V Stockport
Just watched the highlights and seems like a decent first 40 minutes then let down by defending from set pieces plus losing Trotman to second yellow card early on 2nd half. TW & AW need to get defence together to sort out their set pieces, although TBH we have not had a settled back line this year a...

Re: FC United
They have a great set of real supporters but their situation certainly shows how tough it is to run a club. FCUM are in a bad way, but we cannot afford to be anything less than ruthless & snatch 3pts.

If the board won't tell me how long TW's contract is, especially when I & the entire world know how long Man Utd are giving Solly, I am not telling them if I am renewing my season ticket or not.

The lad needs to be playing in a fixed team so that he can develop. DFC have not given him any opportunities to help with his career, almost feels like he was lured here under false pretences. Was there a spare seat in the car so they got a better split on petrol money?

Re: Darlington V Chester
1116 crowd let down by disjointed, clueless display. Pitch looked dry & our midfield had more holes than a Swiss cheese. Chester were up for it and never let us string more than 3 passes together. TW needs to rethink the whole thing again before facing fans via the Netcafe on Friday so he can answer...

Tonight there was only one team on the pitch and we had 11 players who were strangers & individuals, no formation or plans. Another great disappointment which keeps us in the mire.

Are we spending the funds on airline tickets to bring players over The Pond? Or have we got a new sponsor in Virgin Atlantic??

I think for 2 yellows it's a one match ban to commence 7 days after the original offence - so will miss Stockport Thanks, Vic. At least we may get to see him against Chester where I would hope our chances of better for the win. Anything away to Stockport would be a bonus, but more valuable to have ...

From the commentary, another poor referee who nearly cost us the win. Any chance of appealing against the Holness red card? Thank heavens for Thommo and our away supporters. Can't appeal a sending off for two yellows. Thanks, real_darlo_85. Thought his first card was unnecessary, probably too over-...

Re: Nuneaton....
Our defence is crap in recent games so we should just go for it. Overload the wings with the wing backs and get the ball int he middle ... centre midfielder late runs into the box are missing so hopefully we get that sorted in this game. Hope to see our new signings in action, think they will start...

By all accounts, Trotman had a good game and instrumental in one of our goals through a great run and cross from the flanks. I hope he can repeat that on Saturday, but we also need that target man to bang the cross in.

Probably sold off together with the rest of the family silver, Styche / Syers / Saunders / O'Hanlon / Hughes etc to plug holes in our budget!

How does Holness come to be playing for a North East Non League Club? His background seems to be playing in USA , in college football and then MLS etc. There is no mention that I have seen of any connection with the UK, let alone the North East. I am sure he never left the USA to play part time foo...

Their form is only just better than most of the relegation strugglers. 1 win in last 5,is this a deliberate ploy as perhaps they see the playoffs as a means to generate some excitement?

If we do manage to bring in a loan signing what position should we be looking to fill? For me it would have to be a strong MF player (not a youth player), I would put Ellilott at LB he's done a reasonable job there, bringing in a new LB will not solve our lightweight MF TBH we need both as well as ...

Re: Williams Kokolo
Thought he had gone on a transfer, not just loan. If that is the case, then we still have the option to recall him for the last few vital games of the season as he is much better than Henshall or any others on the bench.
