Re: Darlington FC V South Shields Match Thread
Some of us fans, manager included, need to take your heads out of your backsides. South Shields were a better side, and it wasn't because we didn't show passion, desire or commitment, it was because they have been very well organised, they play exceptional possession football, and they are all tact...

Re: TOUGH TIMES AHEAD
We've got some tough times ahead , where is the invisible man Mr Johnson not at the game today again. It's time to re think stay as we are at the level we're at or get these investors in I vote get them in. not sure why you having a dig at Johnson not being at the match without knowing why and unle...

True Hospitality costs
Good to see the club confirm that we do get a major cut from hospitality and wet sales. Hopefully it will put to bed the doubters that have criticised from Boxing Day. I've been a guest a couple of times on a table of 8 and all I can say the atmosphere and Balcony are excellent but food poor (wet ch...

Re: FA CUP HOME v SOUTH SHIELDS
Capacity is 3200 with the away end apparently holding 1100 depending where segregation kicks in. It would be great to see terracing there one day. I'd imagine South Shields to sell out their allocation so with 1500 Darlo fans a decent 2500/2600 crowd our 2nd largest since being at blackwell.

Re: £25K Needed in the next 3 weeks
Couldn't agree more, whatever happens in the future we need to secure those extra seats. It won't be the board to blame if we we don't reach our target but the desire of the fans as to whether there fundraising match their actual ambitions. Personally I feel we will get there but perhaps the time of...

At the end of the day we have no god given right to win every game, this is a tough league more so than last season. I'm sure we will there st the end of the season better to have a blip now.

Rugby Club not playing until late September early October.H1987 wrote:Oh i'm aware it can keep growing well up until October given the mild few winters we have had recently, but the issue is going to be the at least weekly football or rugby match on it, which is bound to undo much progress.

Current seats are being raised so better viewing and the 70 seats which were for corporates I believe has been reduced to 24, personally I d like to see the new seated stand been built initially sold to families with young kids. Dugouts are being realigned so viewing also better from the club house ...

Just seen this in darlo Facebook "No Darlo fans like the arena and bribing fans with cheap trains to get bums on seats is a good commercial idea but I still won't step foot into that stadium. Newton Aycliffe tomorrow night will do me!!" The Directors must surely despair when they see comments like t...

Tempest's day job is recruitment so hats of to him persuading the new guy to join plus we still have Jonathan Jowett as Company Secretary shame Cook left, a strong board is what we need. Onwards and upwards.

Re: Raj Singh withdraws investment interest
So it was the fans' fault that Richard Cook resigned and now its the fans' fault that Raj Singh has withdrawn his investment. I'm not sure who put out these club statements but they are getting a bit predictable now. I think the statement meant that as owners and we now have 1000 owners we should a...

I can't see any other investors queuing up. It will be interesting to see whether MG stays on or for that matter John Tempest he must be getting fed up particularly as it's a volunteer role.

Re: RS Investment Poll
If you look at the amount raised on budget and pitch fund strategies, the numbers of individuals actually investing is very low, can we really relay on these individuals taking the club to the next level? Surely we can't and it's time to look at outside sizeable investment if we want to take the clu...

Re: RS Investment Poll
His 40k only gets him 9% at the moment, it doesn't state he is getting 15% shareholding just that it's the maximum he can have currently. So he wants in but not willing to let us know how far he wants to go as yet but he clearly wants more than 15%. Once in he will eventually own a large share of t...

Re: RS Investment Poll
Although I wouldn't want Raj Singh anywhere near the controls of the football club, the initial 40K is really just to buy time to set out the investment in full. It's going to take months to consider any proper takeover, and we haven't got that long to make decisions about next season's squad, ther...

Re: its here
Seems a sensible move to me, at the end of the day this investment is not about assets or property so I'm willing to give Raj the benefit of the doubt and see what he has to say on Netcafe, statement also mentions potential two other investors I wonder when they show their hand. At the end of the da...

Re: Potential new investors
For me we need to stop with Martin Gray putting a loaded gun to our heads. I really respect him for what he has done for this club but I am getting a little fed up of him bullying the board and now he fans over this takeover. He should respect how we feel and what we went through if anyone knows ho...

Re: Raj Singh
If it is Raj he is either totally thick skinned and stupid or he feels it's unfinished business. If it's unfinished business let's give him the time to tell us why he wants to get involved again.
Put it this way there's no property involved perhaps he wants to just put things right!!

I may be shot down here but if it is Raj let's hope he has learnt from his previous tenure plus it sounds like there is also another investor to take the pain/strain. We have done bloody marvellous the last five years but every year we are in the red to the tune of £100k. So for me it's time to look...

I do feel for the current board they legally can't trade knowing they will make a huge loss, the only way was to cut Martins budget and in that respect that was the right thing to do. However this is football and normal business rules never seem to apply. I hope John Tempest hangs around for him and...

Re: From the Board of Directors Summary of Appeal
Ok so why didn't they say anything about getting the Bishop seats over in January? Two months go by before they find out that it needs to be covered seats. So at the start of February they had left themselves one month to find 33k, find someone to do the work, then actually do it. They never mentio...
