Based on performances this season, no great loss. Based on performances last season, a real loss.
Shame we couldn't keep him and Asanti, but presumably it comes down to finances
Time will tell if the club have made the right moves I guess

Re: The Squad Now
Barnes was happy to stay though, and could have been retained. Same with Felix. Sorry - I know it's a minor detail in wider context, but I keep seeing it and saying it by return - Kaine intimated in the summer, and secondly when Josh arrived, that the distance/commute wasn't working for him anymore...

Re: Kieran Burton
There is dropping a player out of the side for someone better, but then there is completely cutting them out of the fold and offering them out to other clubs, only to then need them. All for a temporary loan that has lasted, what, 24/25 days? Sukar is also a good player, only 27 & Managers Player o...

Re: Kieran Burton
If Gowling wanted to bring players in then of course some players were going to be dropped, and some were going to be offered to other clubs to try and raise some funds. I personally don't see the problem, particularly when Burton appeared to be an upgrade on Sukar and Lees. Shame that Hartlepool ne...

Re: The truth
Personally I find it when clubs offer to reimburse tickets quite embarassing, so I wouldn't want us to do it. They perhaps should however have put out a statement formally apologising, which may have helped those who are particularly angry about the result, although personally I'm not bothered abou...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
What is so obvious is that these players are simply not playing for Gowling, he has lost the dressing room and that is much more of a concern than his awful signings. It was so obvious they were doing exactly that though on Saturday. Strange how things can change around so dramatically in a few day...

Re: Darlington V Blyth
Wonderful to see young Simms being written off after 45 minutes of football. He's probably not played an awful lot of football so might need to build up some fitness, and by the sounds of it had bollock all service either. Lets give him a couple of weeks before we start claiming he'll never be good...

A new manager coming in wants to do it his way, a think a lot of the current squad are heading for the exit door - 3 wins in 28 tells me that ain't a bad thing. Exactly. Given how terrible we've been this calendar year, I won't lose any sleep over many of the players moving on. I'm increasingly of ...

Re: Darlington V Blyth
We looked like we had made some progress defensively. The shape looked solid, Burton looked decent, and Lawlor had his best game in ages. Hopefully the other new defender will help improve that side of things further. That of course is caveated by playing a team who were happy to have the ball and d...

Re: Kings Lyn
I thought there were some signs of improvement yesterday, and were unfortunate to not get something from the game. However, ultimately we still don't look like creating enough and are still prone to being cut through far too easily. In positives, I thought Ngandu looked like he had something about h...

Re: Engage with the Football Club Board event this Wed. @7.00pm
I think Chris pitched it perfectly with regards to Ray. There are definitely areas where media output can be improved, and I hope it was meant that it will be taken on board, but some of the personal attacks were completely unneccessary. I was surprised at some of the individuals who engaged in the ...

"It's time for people to actually voice their questions now rather than sit on the socials spouting" - according to a volunteer who works for the club. Perhaps it's these sort of throwaway comments from the inner circle that are p^ssing people off? Personally speaking, I find people spreading paten...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
I'm not convinced by 5 at the back or some of the personnel choices but happy to give Gowling time, as we we've been shocking most of the calendar year with 4 at the back too. It doesn't seem to matter what formation we play or which players start- we don't seem to be able to defend and we don't cre...

Re: What is going on at DFC? Media Manager edition.
Ray has been with the club through thick and thin with a range of mangers and owners. Yes he might not be the most enlightened on Snapchat or Instagram but he is representing the clubs media output not a local paper or disgruntled fan group. Be very careful what you wish for without Ray you loose a...

Re: What is going on at DFC? Media Manager edition.
I highly doubt there would be the level of vitriol that has occured if we were towards the top of the league I disagree there, people have complained for a long time about the quality of interviews when Ray does them. Stu is another level and should do more of them. This would take some of the pres...

Re: What is going on at DFC? Media Manager edition.
Some of the comments relating to Ray have been completely over the top - referring to him as the dinosaur (either by text or emoji) for example is just uncalled for in my opinon. I do think the criticism has been hightened by the generally terrible on-pitch performances of 2023 - I highly doubt ther...

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
I think there was definite improvement in our defensive shape yesterday. Obviously the second goal was horrendous, which hopefully Hannah will learn from quickly, but overall I thought we looked more solid. Unfortunately, we just don't look like scoring much from open play. We have almost zero creat...

Re: Goal keeper
Not the position we are most in need of, and a surprise, but I don't dislike the move. We concede far too many goals - Taylor makes some great saves which at times has stopped us conceding even more, but perhaps a different keeper might make the whole defensive unit more solid. Gowling has made a bi...

Re: Alun has been sacked
Simple question, Bolton, Coventry, Huddersfield, and others in football along with St Helens, Salford, and Leigh in RL have all built stadiums in a similar sort of "out of town" area to the arena, and some are a similar style, Why is the arena such a failure when others are doing well? The answer h...

If you are not striving to progress then inevitably in time you regress We are striving to progress though? Are we really? If you think about it, this "new ground" was not proposed at the end of last year. We heard a few times that there was a delay in naming the site and we could not say where it ...
