Re: Even "Good" Owners Leave

Jeff Thompson has done a fantastic job at South Shields I wish him a happy and healthy future in retirement. Of course it will be an uncertain time for the club, but I am certain he will only sell to someone he thinks will build on his legac y. On thing I am pretty sure of is that the supporters wi...

Re: Even "Good" Owners Leave

Purely for his health reasons though, lets not try and spin it any other way with the title of the topic. No spin with title. Many call him a "Good" owner. That is a subjective term, hence the quotation marks. He is leaving as owner of South Shields. The point is even "Good" owners leave and new ow...

As ive said before why not have say 20% fan ownership and 4 other major share holders who own circa 20% each.
So never mind the problem of finding 1 rich enough benefactor you want to find 4

What do you do when 2 benefactors sell to the third and now you have a majority owner who is not fans

Heard a few players when they went over to see him go “come back Daz” which I thought was strange. Name names... He has already, before back-tracking and saying he didn't actually hear it himself. I always think people who have left a job and constantly turn up at their old place of work uninvited ...

The article in The Athletic makes for uncomfortable reading for any football fan. https://theathletic.com/4844776/2023/09/11/investigation-football-club-owner-convicted-fraud/ Whether former owner Swann wins the litigation or current owner Hilton/ White/ Anderson/ Mellors neither is someone you woul...

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures

I wad at game today & don't share negativity of some on here.

Darlington players looked as if they lacked confidence, but showed fleeting glimpses of good play.

Nelson was unlucky at start of 2nd half. Not sure how that and rebound never went in.

There is a lot there for a new manager to work with.

Few Names I’d hope/look at for new manager Mark Bower Steve Watson Nathan Haslam Craig Lynch Kevin Phillips Jamie Vermiglio Most of those are under contract at existing clubs, so would possibly need to pay compensation to their current clubs, which would be an extra cost on top of compensation to t...

That Sarina Weigeman seems to be quite canny & probably at a loose end after next Sunday..... but wouldn't know much about the type of football we have been playing. I wonder if any top male sides would approach her to manage them? She has certainly shown she is a winner in the women's game. Wonder...

Enjoyed the atmosphere back at a proper old ground I know it's now 35 years old but I struggle to see Glanford Park as a "proper old ground". That phrase always makes me think of Feethams, Bootham, Edgar Street etc rather than Glanford, Bescot etc I know exactly what you mean. How long does it have...

Sadly i agree with all the above. It will hack off the ground hoppers but they are a whingeing lot anyway who dont seem to grasp how much of a waste of money programmes are. Maybe clubs could do them on a ad hoc basis like big cup games, title deciders etc and make it more of a collectors mag Showi...

Re: End of the road for match programmes?

I see Hereford have ditched physical match programmes in favour of digital ones. They said it wasn't cost effective for around 175 sales. The programme is emailed free to every season ticket holder and everyone who buys a match ticket in advance. Obviously it's a much bigger reach for sponsors as w...

.... Fairly sure AFC Wimbledon used a similar model to Leyton Orient. Orient have flats in all 4 corners, and behind one stand. AFC Wimbledon had a big site and build flats behind all the stands, but separate to the stands. Orient have no room for expansion. AFC Wimbledon could have room to expand.
