Re: Darlington player caught the eye of a Prem club.
Spoke to Cooper last season about Smith, and he said at the time that he believed he would be a premier league player in time. Seems Stoke have the same opinion. In his appearances last season, he cannot therefore have been the utterly shite, spineless waste of space certain people on here maintain ...

Re: Tommy Wright
Im not Wrights biggest fan by any means but to say Wrights performance at Wembley was very poor is way off the mark. He certainly wasnt outstanding but i bet if you ask Foster and the other Mansfield Centre Half they will tell you they had been in a battle - he gave 110% that day and had a right go...

Re: Stockdale
try looking at a game with your own eyes instead of going with the media hype, Bramble was a major part of a team that boasted the most clean sheets at about the half way point in the season and the clean sheets only stopped when injuries broke the back four up. Bramble was also player of the year ...

Re: Season ticket early bird offer.
I didnt get a shirt last year because I didnt have the spare cash, My season ticket was hard work saving for. Unfortunately I used my ST money on going to Wembley, and am hoping that I may be able to scrape together money for a ST before August, but thats looking unlikely with the price increase. I...

Re: Free Agent's/Transfer Targets
How many players have done anything at Bradford in recent seasons? I think there's something fundamentally wrong with the club, and to write Evans off might be a mistake. He did very well in a piss poor Macclesfield side, and from what I remember seemed hard working enough for them. For free, still ...

Re: Free Agent's/Transfer Targets
Just seen that Gareth Evans is on a free from Bradford. Remember he looked a really good player when at Macclesfield, and I think he scored a couple against us, if memory serves me. Skilful forward, could make something out of nothing, and took a decent freekick. Perhaps worth a look.

Re: Tommy Wright
Another start and another win for the team. Not seriously laying this win at Wrights' door are we? Up until his 1cm tap in, he was rarely a threat, and won very few headers. Happy he was in the right place, but if we want to go up next year, he won't be in the starting eleven. Campbell's ...

[But also remember Inghams early wonder save from Terry, and Chandlers near miss off the 'almost' own goal. We could've scored more than we did too. Re: Tommy Wright
Lets get things in perspective. Yes, Tommy scored, but for the vast majority of this game, York bossed it. I don't think he caused their centre halves that much problem, and the goal he scored owed more to Hatch attacking his header than Wright, who couldn't miss. We've all got a soft spot for Tommy...

One thing I wouldn't have thought you could criticize Russell about is his kicking. Wasn't his best yesterday, but I've always thought he is very good, especially from on the floor.

Re: I can't wait for Bedale to get home.......
A few of us on here have been shot down by the less intelligent amongst us by saying Moore should be playing, glad to see he's proving his critics wrong by creating and scoring goals. Imo he should be given a one year deal and let's have a season of seeing what he can do on the pitch, not sat in the ...

Re: favourite ever darlo player
Could have been Alan Walsh, who was one of the few reasons to watch Darlo when I started going. 4 goals against the hangers lives on in the memory even now, and has been mentioned, a fearsome shot. However, for sheer genius, it has to be David Currie. His work ethic wouldn't go down well with those ...

Re: Is a front page article in the Echo really necessary?
.But the Echo would do well to take notice of some of the comments above. Thousands of people from the town will be travelling hundreds of miles to watch this club play at Wembley and a lot of others will be taking an interest. There is no other group or organisation in the town that could band tog...

Re: Why are some talking about releasing Chris Senior ?
Senior getting injured when he did has probably worked against him. Personally I would like to see Campbell work with Hatch to get an understanding of the way each other plays. By what I have seen Campbell looks like he knows how to finish, Senior altho has scored goals for other 'worse' teams than...

Re: Who would you play with Hatch up front at Grimsby?
To be fair, Wright is a better option than M. Smith. No he isn't, unless we are going longball again. Wright cannot hold a ball up, doesn't win many headers, and most of his challenges result in a freekick. His best days are long gone. Wright wins more than his fair share of headers and can hold th...

Re: Signings for next season
Stop playing Michael Smith up front next to The HITMAN. We don't score enough because he does not have the instinct. Stop saying stuff I agree with! I can also see Senior being released in the summer. Michael Smith is not an out and out goalscorer. He will weigh in with 10/12 next season, but...

Re: An end to an unbeaten run...
Realistically, play-offs were always a longshot. What today proved is that, when our first eleven play well we are a good team. When they don't, or any of them are missing, we are an average side. Hatch/Smith doesn't work as a partnership. They are too alike. Campbell needs game time, as, coming on ...

Re: Campbell is ruled out for another week
I think Modest made the game swing in our favour, he gave the centre backs something else to think about. I don't think he's too bad a player, prefer him to Tommy Wright, who was blowing out of his arse after 47 seconds. Quakerz - Is Modest better or worse than Michael Smith, cause i know you think...

This is getting ridiculous the Arena is not the problem it has great facilities and is well used throughout the week. The problem is we are getting 1800 fans 600 hundred of those paying on the day. If we got 3500 - 4000 then things would be different. The Feethams thing is a total a distraction whi...

Re: This is why we have no chance of making the playoffs
Senior will have to start, or Campbell - because Michael Smith is cup tied (thankfully)[/quote] Why is being unable to hold onto a two goal lead Michael Smith's fault! How many times have we thrown it away when he hasn't played and Senior has? We have an experienced Midfield and defence, and perhaps...

Re: Main and Smith - Don't......
Smith and Main were the best option last night, at least to start. However, they are not Cooper's first choice partnership. To my mind Cooper's pecking order is Hatch/Smith/Wright as target with Campbell/Senior/Modest/Main playing off them. With Hatch out, Smith came in, with Campbell out, Senior no...

Smith and Senior. Our recent run has coincided with us keeping the ball better, and getting the likes of MBW / Verma on it more. Smith will keep the ball, and bring others in to play, Wright will not.

Luton a class above darlo pure and simple And so they should be, the money they have spent and the support they have. It's like Stoke playing at Man Utd. Usually hard to beat, but if Utd on top of their game, 4-0 is no suprise. Tonight Luton were on top of their game. Not the end of the world, and ...

Looking at that photo on the Kettering website, there was no way that the match was going to be on. Bit of consideration for the travelling fans would have been nice - it's not like it was Gateshead or York is it?

Whilst the result and performance was disappointing, did Tuesday actually affect our chances of making the play-offs? Don't think Arnison should have been dropped. However, Taylor is a left back who can play Centre Half, being asked to play Right Back. Didn't think he was that awful last night - as average as most of them were. Did show some nice skills at times, so can obviously play. Far, far to soon to be passin...
