Re: Gowling has to go tonight
To me we have one opportunity and one only to get out of this absolute mess. Gowling has to go NOW, no messing about. We are going down if this does not happen. We then appoint someone to end of season. A combination of for example Hodgie/Gray would motivate the players (in different ways) and motiv...

Re: Boxing Day at Scarborough
Team today is pretty much our very best team in my opinion. Maybe Moke instead of Ngandu. No excuses, just gotta put in a performance today, and think they will. Probs save his job mind if they do!! No idea why we signed the Greek guy mind if he does not even affect even the squad after Sat performa...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford
My guess is it was something like 60/40 wanting AA out, but reckon it must be 95/5 want Gowling gone as genuinely I do not know of one other supporter who wants him to stay. Given that the board are all die hards too, the stats must be the same? He has failed and continues to fail at basic requirem...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford
Just listened to his interview. The gist being that “ the expectation was just too much for the players” Is he serious? Does he mean the expectation that we should beat a side at home that is bottom of the league, concede goals for fun, oh and have just had a 4 hr coach journey!. Anyway, is that not...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford
When we're 2 nil down at home, playing against 10 men against the team bottom of the league, our tactic was to pull all 11 players back into the penalty area to defend the corner. Absolutely clueless tactics. That was amongst the worst performances I've seen in the last 68 years That’s the thing th...

Re: Do it tonight Johnson
So it was obvious from minute 1 that their manager had a game plan and that was to man mark our midfielders and not let us play apart from sideways and backwards, and it worked. Our manager had the same game plan of playing 2 defensive midfielders who barely get anywhere near the oppos penalty box, ...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford
:? Questions for Gowling from todays match: Why continue to play on his day one of the best midfielders at our level on the wing? Why continue with 2 defensive midfielders when 0-2 down at home against bottom of league? Why sign a player who is clearly miles away from fitness and pay him more than a...

Re: Gloucester (A)
Can only see it as a positive around team spirit to me. To have the fans, players and management chipping in together suggests to me a good spirit and desire to get a result. Mind you, for me given JG has had 8 or so consecutive sessions now with his players all on plastic there really is no excuse ...

Re: Gloucester (A)
Just listened to Danny Rose's interview there, says both the management & the players themselves have contributed towards the travel costs to stay over there tonight. Like the sound of that and good on the players to contribute, show’s commitment to the cause for sure. Still find it really frustrat...

Re: Gloucester (A)
Well, after what feels like a while without a game (not sure if that's a good or bad thing these days) it's likely we'll get back to playing on Saturday away to Gloucester. Our opponents winning in midweek means we slip to 23rd in the league, but defeats for Kings Lynn and Peterborough Sports meant...

Re: Banbury v Darlo
Not such a bad thing I reckon. By next game they will have had, what, 8 consecutive training sessions to embed exactly how JG wants to play. Asante should be a lot fitter, some of the injured have been given a break, and he’s been allowed to bring in another couple of players. No excuses now, the ne...

Re: New Signing - Sonil Vasileiou
Will only know if he can adapt to this level when he plays like any player at any level until he plays give him and Josh a break. This board is so full of negativity it`s getting boring Not being negative, hope he is a star in the making like others in recent years. Just think as fans, particularly...

Re: New Signing - Sonil Vasileiou
No interview with the new player and no mention of him in Josh's interview for Banbury. No wonder no one seems that interested in this signing. And that’s part of the problem at moment, nothing seems linked together. We sign a new player, creates some interest and conversation and the manager doesn...

Is there not someone on here who knows what the playing budget for this season is, including BTB? Properly knows. Has it not been mentioned at a forum or similar? Pretty sure I heard DJ earlier in season in hospitality say our budget was c£350k in total, less than previous season but similar to a p...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
Obviously lots of people have doubts over JG based on his Darlo record of 2 wins in 13 games but there are also question marks over his consistently poor loan choices, the fact that we've come full circle after initially freezing out several existing players, the drastic and failed formation change...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
With this guy in charge we are going down. Draws at home against 2 absolutely crap teams is simply not good enough. Yes we are keeping the ball better but it’s results that matter and I have not seen enough to believe we would beat half decent teams when we cannot beat some woeful teams at home. Don...

Re: Darlington V Rushall
Beyond me why we let Hazel go knowing Asante was miles away and Nelson missing. Basically left us with no recognised available forward in the club for 2 massive games. The guy, like him or not, keeps making ridiculous decisions. Worst case, at least in this weeks interviews give us some background ...

Re: Warrington
Another opportunity lost. We have failed to beat some shocking teams recently and last nights was no different. Talking us up based on last night is delusional. Yes we played better but so we should have as they were awful, yet did not win, which actually is basically all that matters at moment. Iro...

Cannot believe the club issues a press release about Hazel leaving and in same short article say watch his hat trick against Telford just to remind us how good he was!
Couldn’t write the script at times!! Honestly, everything just seems a mess at moment.

Re: Jacob Hazel
You can only win by scoring goals, team should of been built round him to bring out the best of his talents. We don’t often come across “natural” goal scorers and Hazel is one. Harry Kane would have struggled to score for us given the amount of chances we have created this season and back end of la...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
Maybe this should be on the “truth” thread, but truth is that whenever I hear our manager in an interview I cannot stand the guy. His giggling and “ we’ve had a chat in there” comments are driving me mad. Surely that was an opportunity to accept a share of responsibility, thank the fans who travelle...

Re: Chorley
Yes the players capitulated and have to take the blame for this defeat, but which manager in their right mind keeps 3 attacking players on the field when we're 3 down, then 4 down, then 5 down. We're going to lose the game at that stage, so shut up shop as best you can and limit the damage. I'm not...

Re: Chorley
I think that is possibly the biggest defeat in my time of watching Darlington going back to the 1960s. Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong tonight. All I would say is, let’s try to refrain from knee jerk reactions, and everyone needs to keep calm. Thing is Old Git if it was a one of...

Re: Chorley
Have never felt as embarrassed by a Darlo performance as tonight. Of course the sending off was a big factor but what happened after that showed exactly why we are where we are. No bottle, no desire and no backbone. Did their keeper touch the ball more than about 3/4 times, think not. That’s 3 conse...

What the hell is Gowling laughing at? It’s his team that is showing no backbone whatsoever. Why make a sub literally 30 seconds from half time.
He should not be laughing, the guy so winds me up!!!

Re: Chorley
Totally embarrassing.
Horror tackle by Nelson no excuse.
We just cannot pass to a blue shirt, just hoofing it clear and back it comes. Without doubt the worst I’ve seen ud play since we reformed.
Not sure their goalkeeper has touched the ball and it’s almost half time.
