Re: Tamworth V Darlington
Yarblockos' point was the one we were debating on the way back from the game and is key to whether we stay up or not. Do we have a decent enough squad who have been badly coached and therefore Gowling can get enough out of them, or is the squad so poor that a new manager couldn't get much our of th...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
Just watched the goals. 3 things immediately stood out for me. 1. The body language after conceding the first just said, oh well that’s another defeat let’s get on the bus now. No leadership on display at all. 2. If JG thinks thinks it is better value for money on a young goalkeeper compared to TT t...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
What a load of OTT panicking and sniping on this thread -some of the points on here are quite embarrassing really....... We've got a new manager. He's inherited a badly put together, lacklustre, out of form, underperforming squad. This was his second league fixture and was away at top o...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
Any manager who believes that playing Salkeld and Griffiths as wing backs is the best way to get the best out of this squad does make me very worried. What do you suggest? We’ve been playing 4 at the back for most of the season it was no better. We played Hazel and Nelson as a pair, no better. Form...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington
Concede most goals and score the least in the league equals relegation and currently thats us!
Very very poor with no sign of a “new manager” uplift. Stats are great but it’s on the pitch that counts.
Have we ever won a game playing 532, honestly not sure we have!!

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
I have come to the conclusion that we haven’t got that many good players after all, and JG has a much more demanding task on his hands than it might have appeared. Unfortunately, it is dawning on me that we lack quality throughout the team, and just surviving in NLN this season is the only target t...

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
We played OK today and overallwere the better team but failed to take presentable chances that came our way in open play. Their first goal looked a bit freakish and their penalty came in bizarre circumstances. How on earth we find a finisher for nothing at this stage I do not know. Their first goal...

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
Hope in this weeks interview Ray asks a straight question “ why have we not tried to extend Barnes loan from York”. Seems a strange decision to me considering our lack of creativity and Felix pending departure. Only can think me has his own players lined up?

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
Just to finish off the negativity. Surely we should not have to find out via social media if a key player has been transfer listed? Also, have not seen any communication about Mustoe who just seems to have disappeared? Also don’t think our club liaison person or whatever called should be posting any...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
We are in a bit of trouble. Gowling needs to learn, and he needs to be ruthless, quickly. Moke needs taking out of the side. Weak in the challenge in the build-up to the first goal and then set-up a really good chance for Gloucester in the second half. Booked for the third time today (all down to p...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
Well that showed the amount of work that is needed. What’s the point of possession if we cannot do anything with it. Now seems like the one player we have with any pace is off too. People mentioned Curry and Felix missing, have I missed what’s happened with Mustoe, is he injured? To say some wheelin...

Re: Josh Gowling...
As you would expect I guess he talks very well, but does sound genuinely a lot more thorough and organised than maybe we are used to which we have been crying out for at times. He is right about the experience and age of our team so guess any incomings will be a lot younger. Hopefully he knows of a ...

Re: Robbie Stockdale??
More than happy to give him a chance if it’s true but agree that he would have been very low down my choice list. Read a number of similar comments and have a mate who supports Rochdale and comments like: nice guy you will like him, couldn’t organise a raffle, no plan B, poor recruitment just seem l...

Re: Robbie Stockdale??
I'm sure whoever is appointed won't be met with universal approval in the way that AA was when he got the job. He was coming into it after a consistently successful few years at Blyth, including at this level. That won't be the case this time. It may be that the new man doesn't have experience at t...

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures
It's the same players that fully deserved their win at Alfreton and played well enough against Brackley and Shields. I wouldn't be diving into complete despair just yet. But we do need to get the new man in ASAP and get things organised. Shields should have beat us, and so should have Boston if not...

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures
Just seen the goal. Defending was a shambles again. Of course it started from a high cross then pinged around the box with Taylor in no man’s land yet again. We believe these guys are good enough but when you watch our goals against they honestly are not. Currently I hope.

Re: Bishops Stortford road closures
No question right decision with AA, but have to say I’m beginning to doubt the quality of the players too. We just look second best in most games, incapable of dominating the game that’s for sure, rarely look like scoring and worst defence in the league. Most say that this squad is much better than ...

Re: Alun has been sacked
I don’t mind some people having a dig at my views and of course fan ownership is where we are right now. What really dismays me is the Never Never Never Ian Paisley like attitude of some of the posters on here. I also agree that we have the club we deserve. We always will have without the desire to...

Re: Alun has been sacked
No idea what his contract situation is but Fenton from Blyth would be my choice. Was hugely impressed the way he got them playing last season, good passing football and well organised, exactly what we need. Then this year is doing even better and pretty sure their budget will be less than ours. Mayb...

Re: Boston
Honestly, that interview is so poor again. He must have been at a different match. We agree on one thing “ the lads put plenty of effort in”, no criticism on that front. Not just last 20 mins, we punted the ball high from the start “hoping” that Felix pace got there and that was it! Surely he, like ...

Re: Boston
After conceding five goals at the weekend it can only be regarded as a positive to keep a clean sheet. We played our better football in the first half and overall a draw was just about fair. The first half in particular was a vast improvement on what the fans had to endure on Saturday. My god it mu...

Re: Boston
League table does not lie after 8 games we are bottom for a reason. We were clueless tonight against easily the worst team we have played this season. Don’t think we created one scoring opportunity from open play and continued to lump long balls to forwards who cannot hold the ball. We have no creat...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
It’s ludicrous not to consider second half of last season when basically it is exactly the same problems but with a number of different players. The common theme throughout this has been the management teams inability to put things right, do things differently on and off the pitch and take ownership...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Good grief, just watched the goals. They were embarrassing, barely a challenge in sight for any of them. The last one we might as well have said, have a go lad but don’t worry if it gets blocked just have another go it will go in eventually. Body language even after first goal said, that’s it then m...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Probably because the Brackley, Alfreton & South Shields performances weren't as great as we all think. We picked up 5 points but still conceded a stack load of chances. Those points just papered over the cracks of an underlying issue. [/quote] You could be right. Remember watching the Shields highli...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
The Buxton game did have a feeling of two steps backwards after one step forward and it was bewildering just how bad we were. There was no rocket science about how the home team played. They adopted a quick, high-energy press from the off and were drilled and organised and we simply couldn't rise t...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
The general hypothesis on social media is that Alun was missing due to Luke’s transfer breaking down. I trust - and hope - nothing serious has occurred unrelated to that. Might be worth the club dropping something in which says it’s unrelated to Luke’s transfer, which everyone is hypothesising & su...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Many on here said a few weeks ago to give it 7-8 games to get a true picture of where we are. Well here we are, and it’s not a good place. Defence is a joke even with new players. We rarely look like scoring from open play and the recruitment at back end of last season and during the summer has been...

Re: South Shields
Much improved again. What a difference Hatfield has made by the way. Thought Barnes was exactly what we have been missing, holds onto the ball, can play in tight spaces and spot a pass. Think Hazel needs a complete two week break away from football to me, looks weary. Defence still shocking at times...
