Re: Darlo Vs Warrington
Remember the first game of last season? Pretty much a re-run of today as I recall. Took us most of the first half to acclimatise, then we took off. Just like this afternoon I thought. Today I never thought we looked remotely like losing and by the end Warrington were a well beaten side. However the ...

Re: From: Shaun Campbell - Feethams News!
Feethams is our spiritual home and I still think the cricket club venue should be explored. I've heard they only use it in summer, and even then only when it's not raining.

Re: From: Shaun Campbell - Feethams News!
I've said it before, we should launch an appeal to buy out the cricket club, then they could move to some spare land on an out of town site near a rugby club I know. Then we could just sort of turn the tin shed the other way round...

Re: Feethams
One of us should know somebody with a law qualification who could start digging around the onership and covenant matters in their spare time. That would be exactly what the Esh group, cricket club and council probably wouldn't want because they've probably all taken a risk. Other than a gypsy camp o...

Re: Another crackpot owner
You couldn't make it up. It reads like one of those light hearted new year almanack predictions that you read in a 1st January newspaper. This one's not funny though. We've had enough closer to home ourselves to enable us to identify with the long suffering supporters of Barry Town.

Many thanks to all who sent their best wishes. Dad never really regained conciousness properly, but I know that he slipped away happier in the knowledge that the team he supported all his life had been promoted.

Not looking so good for Feethams - I'm hearing on the save Feethams facebook page that the house builders are about to start.

Re: Unwilling to be stuck with Evo-Stick
That sounds good. I hope the squad doesn't change too much during the summer. It's obvious that the team we have now have a great cameradie between them and I liked a statement by Jack Charlton in his autobiography that he always felt that players who had won promotion deserved a chance at the highe...

Unwilling to be stuck with Evo-Stick
Just wondered how I'm going to manage without any matches till August? (I have this problem every year, just more so this time). More seriously, can someone tell me what the promotion arrangements are for the new league? Is it still one team promoted, several, or are there play offs? And how many ga...

Re: Darlo's troubles - the best thing that could have happen
I don't think support ever goes away; it can just lie dormant for a while. I once stood in a crowd of sixteen and a half thousand at Feethams for an end of season promotion match against Torquay - still have the match report. Didn't see much though - as a ten year old - just other peoples legs!

Re: Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
I just figured that if those genteel cricket club folk could be persuaded to try an out of town location I know - near a rugby club with better parking for their Mercs and Audis - we could just sort of turn the tin shed the other way round and call it New Feethams?

Re: Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
Maybe we should try and buy the cricket ground. Now, there's a thought. I don't know anything about the cricket club; have they got any ambition? Have they done anything remarkable recently? I've heard that they only use their ground in Summer, and even then when it's not raining.

This is sad but I wanted to share it.
I came home from Saturday's match in a state of euphoria but the look on my wife's face said something was seriously wrong. My dad's care home had phoned to say that his health had deteriorated and I needed to get there straightaway. Things were bad and he was slipping in and out of conciousness. He...

Re: Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
I think yesterday was a strange kind of day. Too be stood at Feethams at 10.00am by sheer coincidence and then at 5pm at HP to see us going up was surreal. Anyway I know that those in charge of our club will have thought about all the options and will for necessities sake need to keep some things cl...

Re: Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
It still felt like hallowed turf when I was there this morning, and how could you forget Dicky Deacon's magic sponge? Memories came flooding back - not all sad - like the time a patrolling policeman spun round thinking he was being attacked - but a wayward ball had knocked his helmet off. Or the tim...

Re: Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
It was deserted and so peaceful there this morning, just the birds singing. Of course you can't just take anyone's land, but who does own it now?

Re: Gary Brown in the Echo
You're right, it's a good article and Gary modestly under-sells himself. I think that he is our best player because he's clearly a thinker, he avoids the common tendency to kick the ball anywhere when under pressure - he knows where others are - and he has the skill and fitness to go with it. I have...

Feethams nostalgia on the eve of this afternoon
While in Darlington today I had time to wander down to our old Polam Lane entrance for the first time since the 1980s - I almost lost the route at first due to a new housing estate. Anyway, I found it and closed my eyes as I turned the last corner, visualised the old turnstile entrances, opened them...

Re: Goodwill to all men but............
Fast forward a few years to when we are back in the league. Then we'll all be able to say we were there at Heritage Park where the long road back started, and every one of us , fans and players alike, will be able to say "we played our part". Our time will come to savour the moment. Meanwhile, never...

Well they can't complain, as we always give the other team a goal start before we hammer them,
