Re: Williams Kokolo

There seems to have been a reluctance on TW's part to use this lad, but having already lost O'Hanlon, we have a gap on that side of the defence. Saturday saw Henshall as wing-back, and Elliott has also played there with slightly more success. Perhaps TW will play Elliott there again and make space f...

Re: Darlington V Brackley

But the most worrying thing was the crowd and the general apathy which seems to have swept over the entire club. When was the last time we had a 3 figure crowd in Darlington for a league match? I fear we are watching the slow decline of Darlington Football Club unfolding before our eyes. It's a vic...

Re: Darlington V Brackley

I would additionally chip in to my earlier post that had we had a Nelson playing last night there might have been a chance of capitalising on some of the approach play of the first half. Scoring the first goal would have changed the dynamic of the game and made a whole pile of difference to the way ...

Re: Darlington V Brackley

Hurworth, we have a problem. We began the season with the idea that adding to the existing firepower of Styche and Syers, which had proved pretty effective, with the alternative outlet of Ainge would give an extra dimension to our attack. This was largely the basis on which it was projected that we ...

Re: ''Donation” scheme

Thanks for that. I do understand the idea of having a general, undefined fund such as this donation scheme, with the rather more gentle purpose of getting small amounts in when people feel like it, rather like the buckets at the gates when people come into the ground. But I still think that, rather ...

Re: ''Donation” scheme

It is probably because I'm getting too old and confused to take all the latest info in, but we currently have this donation scheme live, and we now, also, have the 500 club renewal, which offered members a one year extension, which they may choose to offer as a donation. The donation scheme that is ...

Re: Post AGM update.

The last few posts have been about the impact of the 500 club and a possible further extension. I am a 500 club member and as far as I can remember I was part of a second push for people to join the scheme and so my expiry date on my card is June 2021, which seems to fit with what others have said a...

Re: Darlington v Bishop Auckland

I don't think he scored any/many more goals for Blyth, which rather backed up the opinion that MG had of him, which seemed to be that he could be brilliant but too often disappeared and added nothing to the team effort, which was not going to get him brownie points with Mr Gray.

Re: Darlington v Bishop Auckland

Kneeshaw could rip this league up if he gets his attitude right. Was impressed with him the short time he was with us, very tricky and good finisher, not sure why Gray let him go but remember him getting a hat trick for Blyth.Hope TW can get him for the remainder of the season. Following this thread is getting much like Brexit. Many different solutions to an, as yet, inponderable problem. There seems to be many opinions but few facts. And rather like Brexit the idea of leaving BM would be quite a leap of faith, based on what little can be ascertained at the moment, but has...

Darlington 1883 Ltd is the company set up to run the football club and has since 2012 made equity (shares) available in order to raise funds. These shares have been purchased by a number of different shareholders, the largest being Darlington 1883 Supporters Society (DFCSG) who have about 85% of th...

Correct, you need to be a direct shareholder in DFC 1883 Ltd. From memory I think there are around a couple of hundred, most who just hold a single share. Re: Curzon V Darlington

There seems to be a conundrum over how we fit all the available players, and more particularly the loanees, into a starting line up. Perhaps we should remind ourselves of the reliance on academy players to fill the bench for such a long period earlier in the season. It was clear from the few times t...

Re: Curzon V Darlington

When Nelson was at the club we had that little bit extra that looked to be taking us well clear of the drop zone. We are still playing well, but Kidderminster aside, the goals have begun to dry up. This wouldn't be tragic if the defence could close games out but we always seem to find a way to give ...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Talking of the defence, I thought Ainge had a great game and was slightly unlucky that Thommo is also in great form and is more likely to catch the eye up front. As with Saturday we just didn't manage to find a killer second goal, but even despite that the team looked comfortably in control until 60...

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM

Match report: We played well for 80 minutes against an absolutely dire Hartlepool Reserves side. Missed loads of chances to seal the win before handing them the game with two dreadful defensive lapses near the end, thus deflating 1,700 fans who turned up at BM. Still, the tie did feature the word C...

Be Part Of It shirt offer

With all the attention on the two derby matches over the weekend to Tuesday it may have lost focus on the current pitch to raise £10,000 by having names included in the home shirt logo. This is due to end tomorrow and is still £3,000 short of the target. So just flagging this up in case folks had mi...
