Re: Fixtures out today at 1pm
So I am assuming when the fixtures are published, we’ll get spenny over festive season, and Blyth will get SS. Not sure who Scarborough will get, Guiseley probably. Imagine the festive fixtures will look something like the below. Blyth v South Shields Darlo v Spenny Bishop Stortford v Peterborough ...

Re: Question
Hi all, You may or may not have seen that our merge was voted through and the team is preparing for the season at Gigg Lane, we have also been given allowance to use the name Bury FC again. Why the FA gave us special dispensation is beyond me - I can only guess it was done in an attempt to put the ...

Re: Make or break season for AA
In light of all the swearing I’d like to say that I fucking love Alun Armstrong. He’s brought in brilliant players (some of which we’ve made money on) got us on a cup run which saw us on BT Sport and came within a point of the playoffs last season. He gets us as a club, he knows where we are as a fa...

Re: Conlon in his Man City days!
David Brightwell started at Man City and finished his career with us. I remember him getting a bit of abuse in the Tinshed but I was quite young at the time and can’t remember exactly how good or bad he was. I was quite surprised that he retired at 31.

Re: New players and targets
I remember playing 5 a side match against a Brandon United player who were in the 10th tier at the time. None of us could get near him so I can only imagine what a 4th tier player would look like in match against some 5 a side players.

Re: Darlington FC communications
For those not on facebook, the club posted a few pictures on their page asking about the fan’s favourite memories. Some of the replies are astounding, one ‘fan’ claimed a few people are getting rich from boost the budget and another saying the club is being run as a charity. We really do have some i...

Re: Darlington United
I notice they have changed their admission prices from £10 to free of charge. I can’t work out if you need to be a member to book tickets though?! As the posts above say, no one in the right mind is going to book in advance for that level of football. Darlington has gone from 2 clubs to 4, do peopl...

£10 a match for division 11/12 and away fans have to buy tickets from their club in advance?!
Judging by the strange pricing and the website layout, I dare say it’s someone’s GCSE Coursework.

Re: Darlington V Bradford PA
I don’t get to as many home games these days and when I do I always go in the tinshed. I’ve got a seat for today and noticed there’s no number on the ticket. Can you sit anywhere or are some reserved? More than half of the seats are reserved by season ticket holders and they are clearly labelled as...

Re: Will we even make the play-offs?
Need 6 points from our 2 games this weekend. We’ve been really lucky to stay in the playoff places with relegation form. My first (and possibly last for a while!) visit to Blyth so very much looking forward to it. Hope the Fish and Chips won’t be the highlight of the day. Blyth will be tough but goi...

Re: AFC Fylde v Darlington
The best team won yesterday. Our defence didn’t look great but it was strange to read the comments on Fyldes Facebook page. The top comment said ‘we need to stop defensive errors and both Darlington goals were gifted to them’. I wonder if we are being too harsh on the players at times and if the lea...

Re: AFC Fylde v Darlington
Sorry forgot to add I have been told away supporters are not permitted in Bradley’s sports bar before the match if they wanted to watch the early kick off. A few of us are heading to the Stanley Arms which is about half a mile away. I’m dragging a Liverpool fan along tomorrow hope he enjoys himself ...

AFC Fylde v Darlington
Going to be minus 2 in the morning around the Fylde area. I rang the club and asked if there was going to be a pitch inspection they said no it’s fine it’ll go ahead. Hopefully the club won’t have another wasted trip like Banbury!

Bringing on Lawlor to shut up shop whilst taking off our playmaker must have seemed like a good idea at the time, but from bitter experience we all know that a 1 goal lead is never enough. Great idea as AA said he was struggling at the end. Bringing on a 6’4 centre half to see out the match against...

Might struggle for 1500 as Newcastle on tv with chance to get to wembley I think the fact that Newcastle are heavy favourites and the tie should be over, will help fans come to watch Darlo, rather than them sitting watching the game on TV Darlo is full of mags so I’m with Darlo reborn on this one. ...

Re: Lambert attracting attention
Thought I would check up on the progress of some of our sales in recent seasons, notably Saunders, Charman, Hatfield & Donowa. None of them seem to have made any great progress up the Leagues, apart from Harvey now with Bristol Rovers. Jack is talented, but needs to be careful with his options. Int...

Re: Curzon Ashton Away 6/12/22
Second time I’ve seen us win there, I feel very lucky! Great performance by the lads. Could have been 3-0 but from where I was stood (In front of the dodgy looking media stand) it didn’t seem offside, perhaps it’s just my rose tinted glasses. Anyway, 3 points on the road and 2nd in the league, what ...

Would snap your hand off for a ground like Curzon Ashton, I always thought it was very smart. I’d have a larger main stand of course but the view from the terrace opposite the main stand is excellent.

In Bullseye style 'Take a look at what you would have won', Hyde got Buxton away. Shame, great one for Midlands exiles like me. Would have certainly been winnable but we all thought that on Saturday! Blyth v Wrexham looks a certainty to be televised. Feel for poor Ashington, if they manage to win t...

I’m gutted, I love the FA Cup. I’ve seen a few posts on Facebook saying they would rather concentrate on the league as its ‘our best position in years’. I honestly don’t think a few rounds in the FA Cup would have made our league form suffer, if anything I think it would have strengthened it with mo...

We were lucky enough to have the famous Arthur Wharton too, though I suspect no one here got to see him play!
I always found it funny that we put one of the fastest sportsmen in the country at the time in goal. Typical Darlo!
