Re: Guiseley
The playing surface has been dire recently. It looks better than it actually plays and certainly doesn't compliment the way we want to play the game.
Not that there's anything the club can probably do to rectify the issue, with reluctant landlords putting the bare minimum into its upkeep.

Re: Trotman joins villa
Don't see any reason why Trotman would want to leave at the end of the season.Even if he gets his degree, he can still forge a very successful career as a FT pro footballer and commit to another season with us and put himself in the shop window as others have.Far too talented to call it a day. Re: Spennymoor Away
The lad in the white hoodie, contrary to polar bear's comments, was entirely blameless for the collapse of the fence. As per Beatroute's post, he had complained to the stewards about the state of the fencing prior to the collapse. If leaning on a fence makes it sag, it is clear the installation is w...

Re: Spennymoor Away
Got to agree with Darlo Pete about the 2 turnstiles. That was another amateurish thing. Didn't believe that if there was only 863 of our fans, that there was around 1400 spenny fans. An EXTRA 600ish fans...not for me. But they were never going to say over the 900 were they. We have to take some res...

Re: Spennymoor Away
Completely farcical set up. To announce the day before the fixture that we would be given one side of the ground, with a capacity of 900, but not make it all ticket is ludicrous. Entering the ground through effectively one turnstile should have been a warning for the farce to follow. The decision to...

Re: Leamington (A)
We need a nasty, hard, horrible centre half who can organise and a nasty, hard, horrible , massive centre forward who can bully people, hold the ball up and score goals. Reece Styche would score a hatful in this team. That’s the sort of striker we would ideally need. Put themselves about a bit and ...

Re: Leamington (A)
I think we need to change the system again. 433 has been brilliant, but we now look toothless since Tyrone left. We are unable to bring Campbell and company into the game as the ball isn't sticking up front. We are wasting Thompson. I agree with AA that Donowa is better running onto the ball, but gi...

Re: Darlington v Gainsborough Trinity FA Trophy
Definitely have to agree that Donowa deserves a chance to start, in the near future. We are playing excellent football and barring Brackley, look defensively solid. However, we are struggling to score goals and Donowa, although still very raw, has done enough to be pushing for a start.

Re: FA Trophy 1st Rnd Proper - options
Honestly, there's no reason we couldn't cause an upset and beat Pools. Even just setting the finances aside, I want the game to happen. If we can't have them, then yeah, home draws against lower league sides as far as we can go. Sides from our level are frequently competitive in the competition, th...

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread
We were a Tyrone O'Neill/striker short of an upset. Matched them all game and despite their additional possession in the 2nd half, didn't trouble us except the goal. I believe with the exception of the first 15 minutes we had more possession. From memory after about 20 minutes it was c 58/42 in Wal...

In reality, an informed decision can't be made until the facts about both options are presented clearly. For instance, if the relationship with DRFC is fractured or the pipe issue is insurmountable, then we probably need an alternative. Likewise, if we return to the Arena without a plan that benefit...

Re: Sold out?
Magic of the cup and all that. Oh for an extra terrace to lift the capacity. I think the capacity is 3,000 for this game. Read figures on twitter somewhere. Walsall got 300, and about 2,700 went on sale to our fans. The ground can't adequately fit 3,000 viewing spectators, there are going to be som...

My only real criticism from Saturday was leaving Campbell on the left hand side and playing Donowa through the middle, when he made the substitution. Thought he could have shifted Campbell up top.
However, on another day we would have scored a few.

unusual to see these days. I know in the olden days, folk would alternate between watching different clubs in the same city. Bury now expelled from efl. In my 25 year watching football this is the 1st time i can recall this happening Maidstone in 1992/3 season were last expelled. They never played 1st fixture. Aldershot were liquidated at end of 1991/2 season & therefore technically not expelled. Just before i started wa...

I wonder when we expect to hear an update in this regard from the club.
Obviously the next step, infrastructure wise, will be critical so I am very intrigued to see which route is the most viable going forward.

I thought Galbraith, Trotman and particularly Laing were pretty shaky last night. I thought Laing's decision making was poor on several occasions, but he wasn't the only one and Trotman's pass cost us the goal. However, Laing has performed at this level consistently for Blyth, so there is clearly a ...

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!
Any good shouts for alternatives then? Boyes at Spenny - Not really realistic I imagine due to wages and need for a transfer fee. Beesley at BPA - Also unlikely to be realistic, unless their budget is to be dramatically reduced. Northern League - The next Glen Taylor would be nice. Any possibilities?

It would be nice to see the Maguire and also Jameson situations be concluded fairly shortly, even if we don't get them.
