Re: How things can change so quickly.

So ... the full time signing of Hitman Hatch, the contractual signing of the awesome MBW, the signing of the impressive looking pair of Adam Quinn and Greg Taylor isn't going to change anything other than my mood when am on this board???? Jeeeeesh!!!! ... I really have heard everything now ..... :r...

Re: Big Tim's Player Ratings

[Shame - Can't fault the lads effort and committment but poor anticipation and some dreadful finishing. For me he needs to be used from the bench, build up his confidence that way. Not ready to lead the line for 90 minutes. His misses basically cost us the game, sad to say it but true - 5 Main misse...

Re: today

Overall a well deserved win but I would change the forward line for Saturday. If Cooper is going to play Smith and Main it's got to be one or the other and not together [/quote] Why? What would Wright/Louis give you those two didn't on Saturday. From your earlier comments it's obvious you would leav...

Re: today

He won plenty in the 1st half. 2nd half he dropped off a bit. I agree he doesn't go in hard enough, but to say he didn't win any headers today is nonsense. Agreed, first half he won plenty of headers, especially from throw-ins. However, he also looks to bring the ball down and keep possession - som...

Re: Liam Hatch

As a forward, this season, with Cooper's formation, he didn't impress. Spent to much time chasing back, not enough in and around the box. He seemed to get fed up as well, and started falling over whenever anyone went near him, and appealing to the ref after every challenge. As a defender, different ...

blast from the past I know, but anyone remember that awful full back we hsd called Harry Wilson? He really was one of our worst players  can anyone else remember him and what was his playing career for us Yes he played in Billy Elliott's team in the ealy 80's not the best but not the worst I ...

Re: The problems....

Re Chris Senior, I don't think anyone on this thread has suggested the lad is not a trier as he certainly puts a shift in, and he is our top scorer at the moment. However these things should not mask the fact that if we have serious hopes of getting promoted then we need a better striker than Senio...

Re: Keith Gillespie and MBW

still early days but deffo a poor start so far. To be honest I don't understand why he has tinkered with midfield MBW, Broughy and Smith were looking very comfortable, taking Smith out has been a mistake In my view, he wasn't the worst player yesterday - MBW, Brough, Verma and Wright were as bad if...

Re: Hatch at the back - Again?!

What's wrong with his perfectly good career as centre forward? Hatch is a journeyman centre forward at best, hence why he never got a look in at Peterborough. Could have an ok career around Div 2 / Conference for years to come. What Cooper is saying, I think, is that he could go higher if he develo...

Also a point I have heard a few times with friends who do not attend is the lack of identity with the Team, now this is a victim of circumstance but if I went to to watch Darlo next week there is only the legacy players I would recognise or know, and they themselves are not characters, I think it i...

Re: Thoughts on Saturday...

I think you have to be disappointed with the result, and the performance. Wrexham were pretty poor - came for a point, hoping that they might get lucky on a break, which they did. Most teams will now do the same, and the evidence is we don't have the wit to break them down. 93 minutes to breakdown S...

Re: Chris Moore

I would say he was considerably quicker than Convery and Mulligan. Can't see why he isn't given a chance - if Offiong can be given three or four games to prove his worth (which we all knew was zero pretty much straight away), don't know why Moore isn't worth a punt.

I didn't say he was Cristiano Ronaldo. The point of my e-mail was that he hadn't done himself any harm. Davey said the players were on trial - he seemed to have at least taken it on board in his last few appearances. Despite everything, he is the best crosser of a ball we have, and takes a better se...

Re: Defender on trial

Scotland, premier league or not, is a dead end country to play in. Unless you are playing for Rangers or Celtic its to be avoided at all costs. A player can end up wasting years of his career up there totally forgotten about. Whereas playing for a team halfway up the conference, his name will be on...

Re: Convery

I think he might have given Davey something to think about. He is the best crosser of a ball we've got, and also takes a far better free kick than either Smith or Dempsey. Didn't just sit on the wing waiting for someone to pass to him. Went looking for the ball, both right and left, and also looked ...

Sorry I upset you so much! I don't think the club were taking the p*** with their pricing for the last few seasons, despite the quality on show this season. To state my position as a close to 100% home game attendee over the last 14 years who has not been a season ticket holder since 99/00, I will NOT pay £16 or over per game 22 times next season, I will be unlikely to even pay £12 and go to every home game unless we were dominating the league and play...

Re: Regional Leagues

I think the main attraction of regionalised leagues is the potential for bigger crowds, mainly if Div 1 & 2 amalgamated. We'd get Leeds, Huddersfield, Carlisle, Hartlepool etc, Torquay would get Southampton, Norwich, Brighton, Charlton etc. Bigger crowds less travelling. However, it still would be d...

Re: I agreed with M.O.M last night but Stan sort it out!

For the Notts County match, if we don't bring anyone in meantime, I wouldn't mind seeing us go 3-5-2. We haven't got a decent right back at the club, so let's not bother. Bring Jones in, then Foster, Giddings and Miller (or Bower). Gary Smith and Barnes to hold centre mid, Convery and Gray either si...

Re: Kevin Gall

Would he have been more effective second half on Saturday than those we played? Yes. We didn't close their defenders down, we didn't run the channels - consequently the ball kept coming back at us. Whilst I think Thomas did quite well out wide, he doesn't pressurise defenders, and for someone who ha...

Re: Giddings, Mulligan and Diop

I also thought Giddings could easily have been MOM. Their winger never beat him once, and he also won a few headers at corners. Didn't support the front men much, but definately made the left side look stronger. Mulligan is going to be a very good signing. Excellent touch on the ball, makes some gre...

Re: Very proud of the lads tonight

No it wouldn't. We had 5 clear cut chances against Macclesfield, so we would have doubled our tally for the season. Dagenham have a player, Paul Benson, who is a cut above most strikers in this division, and three or four other players who regularly chip in. They have 21 goals because they take the ...

Used to stick up for Conlon on the old board too. Patron saint of lost causes I am!! I'm not sticking up for Gall just because he runs around a lot, I happen to think that his overall game since he joined this year has been good. Why can't we get a target man who will score us 20 goals a season, rat...
