I'm still raging about today! The biggest game of the season and the players (on the whole) couldn't give less of a toss if they tried!

Re: Who wants to be the first to say it?
There is no urgency to get promoted. We need to sort our stadium out and never make a loss again before we can consider a push for promotion and going full time is a long way away.

Possibly, but their lack of commitment was so obvious Stevie Wonder could have seen it.grimsbyquaker wrote:Big risk coming out and criticising the players in public. It can work but if it doesn't then he's nowhere to go next

Gillies was the worst player on the pitch today by a long shot.

Board members' contribution is off the pitch. I couldn't careless if he was at the game or not.

I'm not blaming 500 club members, far from it, and I'm sure some do donate large sums on a regular basis but I'm certain our takings will increase when they are back buying season tickets year in, year out.

Also if they cared about the club they could buy 15% of the shares and ask to be on the board, which would almost certainly be accepted. Anyone wanting total control must have their intentions scrutinised as anything positive, as far as the club is concerned, can be achieved without the "investor" h...

Re: Darlington FC V South Shields Match Thread
Gray's saying it was the worst performance since he's been in charge and questioning the desire and hunger of some of the players. Big inquest after the game. He's not wrong, the determination to win is a personal responsibility for each individual player. But what about his personal responsibiliti...

Re: TOUGH TIMES AHEAD
If there were investors who had the best interest of the club at heart they would have come forward at any point over the last 14 years. That hasn't happened as they don't exist!! So any interested investor sees us a cash cow ready to be milked. Remember, if an investor comes onboard many of the vol...

I agree I thought what a stupid thing to do, but on the highlights it doesn't look like a red card to me.

We don't need outside investment. It would make the short term easier but is more likely to shaft us in the long term. What we need is patience, to be run at a small profit or break even, and a fucking cup run! Also, once we have the 500 club members committing financially each season again we will,...

Re: Darlington FC V South Shields Match Thread
That was awful! Embarrassing! Terrible! Totally unacceptable! Firstly let's pay dues to SS, they were very good today, they played professionally and with desire. They used the ball very well and chased every ball so we never had any time on the ball. They absolutely deserved the win. Their 8 and 9 ...

Right, which one you comic geniuses text their H'pool supporting mates that Notts County had equalised 2-2? Hahaha

Re: Fans forum
From my perspective that was a sales pitch from Gray. People who are saying "if it was the right investor" etc are totally missing the point, once you sell to an investor he can pass it on to who ever he chooses irrespective of their abilities or motivation. If we leave the fan owned model we are pu...

No manager is worth risking the future of the club over. If budgets need to be cut they need to be cut. For too many seasons we have gone over budget and that is primarily down to the board giving the manager too much money. Yes it's resulted in our rapid rise but it's also created numerous other pr...

Will this online ticketing facility allow priority groups (ST holders and SG members) to by tickets before general sale for big games?

With the proposed return to our rightful name, could it not be that the club is waiting for the start of next season to erect a sign, rather than to fork out twice. Loan Star has it spot on about the sign, I think the Rugby Club are scared of losing identity or something. Yes, because being The Hom...

We should have just sent them 100 tickets - then there would be no argument. The trouble with saying 100-110 available on the day but get there early to avoid missing out - is that it will put some fans who believe they'll bring 100+ off travelling. I wouldn't fancy a 7 hour round trip to be turned...

Stating that the profit from food and drink sales are split 50:50 or whatever it may be wouldn't affect future negotiations.

Re: Time to know what the deal is.
I think our fans need to calm down a bit. Minds are racing before the club have even had a chance to rectify teething issues from the opening day. Let the clubs work them through. The terms are no more relevant at this point than they were on Christmas Day. Take a step back, take a deep breath in a...

Re: The Pitch
If we can get an advantage through 'local knowledge' of where the bobbles are, then not so bad. Given the size of our players, the length of grass could be more of a problem. Pitch as it is now is more suitable to big hoof / route 1 aerial stuff rather than the slick passing game which we can play....

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
It's very easy to say lose the reserve pitch or the clubhouse but see this from DRFC's view. They can't play on the 1st team pitch as often as they want, the reserve pitch people are talking about building on is the only other playable pitch at BM as the 2 sloping pitches are among the worst in NE r...
