Looks like there may be a vacancy at Gateshead very shortly (Aspin off to Port Vale?)
If Gray had hung on a bit he may have jumped up a division

All he had to say was something like 'opportunity to manage full time too good to turn down, grateful for the opportunity Darlo gave me, achieved a lot together in 5 years, recognise the financial limitations of fan owned club even though the fans have raised huge amounts, wish them success in ththe...

Gray had enough trouble keeping his opinions of the ref to himself, can't see White being so reserved - would have spent a lot of time watching from the stands

Re: Gray joins york city
You'll get caught on the break, a lot. Gray liked full-backs to go forward and they do so without any discipline whatsoever, so you'll have both full backs deep in the opposition half at once. Unless you have some full backs with a brain of course. Never sorted out these kind of defensive problems ...

Mainly membership money that's going in. If everyone just stuck a tenner in we'd romp it. Surprising the small number of people putting anything in I suppose in addition to those relatively few who have contributed thru bank transfers etc we shouldn't forget those who stick money in the buckets on ...

Re: So, where do we go from here
Just interesting to read David Johnston's views on consolidating at this level for a couple of years. He obviously Shares MGs ambitions "Where do you see the club being in two years? In those two years we’ve got to get into the Conference and have a sustainable club. I’d like to think we could get ...

"The success since 2012 is incredible, but be realistic it cannot be maintained." Tell that to MG It is becoming increasingly obvious David Johnson has not been able to persuade any relevant outside investment. The RS coup has no legs, then i guess we may have little choice but to stick with the cu...

OUR FOOTBALL CLUBS ARE FOR LIFE....... not just for one season I thought after 2012 we were rebuilding a club so that our children, grandchildren could follow in our footsteps and have a lifetime of frustration and dissapointment punctuated by odd moments, even seasons, of success and pleasure. It s...

Not an issue now for this weekend, but is there anything specified anywhere (in league rules/FA ground grading??) that says what minimum facilities have to be available to entertain officials/directors of visiting clubs?

Question about voting system
As I understand it the vote at the DFCSG will instruct them how to cast their (our)shareholder votes on any subsequent DFC Ltd motion. Its very unlikely that the DFCSG vote will be 100% for or against - if, say it was 51/49 - either way - are the DFCSG votes all cast for the winning side, or in prop...

Re: Potential new investors
It's ridiculous to set a two week deadline. The football club would have to change its rules to allow someone other than the supporters group to own more than 15%. This would require votes of shareholders and/or an EGM - and there must be rules for the notice required for these. In turn the suporters...

Budget for next season
By this stage of the season a club must have a pretty close to finalised playing and general budget for the following season - maybe a few alternatives if promotion/relegation is a possibility. The manager would need to know by now what his scope for maintaining/enhancing/reducing his squad for next...

does it actually work 100% of the time? Can covers 100% stop postponements or abandonments - no. I'm sure there have been cases where covers have kept a pitch playable but the game has still been postponed becuase terraces or access paths and roads have been considered unsafe. At BM I can see a sit...

Re: Crowdfunding for new players....
I can see how this might give a temporary boost to the playing budget, but unless they can be certain of getting the same amount in future years then it just becomes like a windfall from a cup run - and they seem to take a very conservative approach to spending their cup money. If they sign a few pl...

Just done some quick work on travel for next season and out of the 4 play off teams we need Boston United to gain promotion rather than Harrogate Town, Fylde or North Ferriby in terms of travel time. Great job by all concerned, and good that individual fans can get something out of it if the rail ticket discount comes off. Re: Nobody Bothered With A Match Thread?
Disappointing result, but perhaps not to unexpected. The physical and mental effort of recent weeks and the incredible intensity of Whitby - plus maybe a tiny celebration after the game?- were bound to have an effect. Even then we had a few chances that on another day may have been taken, but that e...

Travelling up from Suffolk - will be nice to watch a game where the result doesn't really matter - although I would imagine Martin Gray would expect the usual fully committed performance and end the season with another win.

I just hope these pledges, especially the big ones, are genuine.
