Re: Darlington v Southport
No idea what he was referring to with regards his comment about us cheating a little bit. Probably the two penalty incidents which both looked a bit questionable to me Anyway, a really good performance last night - one of our best all season. The only downside would be only taking one of the pletho...

Re: Will Hatfield
Not sure I’ll be doing BTB after this move, really disappointed will express by view from the ground tonight if I meet any directors. And say what? "I see that a full-time club with a wealthy owner met a release clause in a contract for a 31 year old player out of contract in the summer, offered hi...

Re: Will Hatfield
Cannot blame him at all, why wouldn’t he, and to get money when he could have gone in summer anyway, had to be done, no issue. A big however though is how it just sums up that we are where we are as a club and without some type of outside finance we will just mull along selling our best players and...

Re: Raj Singh has…
Even if it's tax deductible, or a PR stunt, or whatever, there will be a substantial financial donation going to people who desperately need it. I think Singh is wildly untrustworthy and I'm glad he is nowhere near our club anymore, but a good deed is still a good deed.

Everyone is going to suffer. Especially those whose business relies on broker rates from utility companies to make their money, naming no names  :shh: All the major utility companies have pulled broker rates so now those who relied on them are having to find another source of income. Not eve...

Re: New stadium funding
Looks like there’s no appetite for increased subs. Blackwell it is then, great if the RG could be bought out. Increased subs would have negligible impact on our ability to fund a new stadium. We've got circa 1000 paying £25 a year = £25,000 pa. If you raise that to £100 a year, at best you get £100...

Re: Poolie fail to get to Wembley
Smith has turned into a proper player - bullied the Hartlepool defenders last night. Smith, Burn, Ferguson - we had a few decent young players emerge from the carnage of our last couple of seasons at the Arena.

Re: York v Darlington
They don't particularly look like they were stepping out though - live, basically everyone (including the York playr) appeared to be just kind of stood there, as if nobody expected the ball to be fired forwards so quickly. The replay seems to suggest that was pretty much the case.

The defence aren't moving particularly fast, the York striker isn't moving particularly fast. You can't say for sure from the angle, but it certainly looks a dodgy decision

Re: York v Darlington
York's stadium cost nearly £45million - so I'd keep that in perspective whatever happens on the ground. That equates to 50% of DBC annual revenue budget. Is that just the stadium, or does it include all the leisure centre bits too? But either way, I find it hard to believe we can afford a new stadi...

This seems hyperbolic to me. Yes we're in bad form, but there's only 1 going down.eddie-rowles wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:15 pm
Defeats to Chester and Gloucester and definitely need a change of manager to stay up.

We are lucky to have the volunteers we have involved, but in particular we are so lucky to have DJ involved. Obviously there were no details released, but it sounds like he's putting in an incredible amount of work to try and deliver our own ground. It's frustrating that we are still in a "wait and ...

Re: Telford V Darlington
There is an obvious candidate. Someone who lives locally, not currently in management, loves our club and has a proven track record in NLN. Unfortunately he wouldn’t be acceptable to some of our fans, and certainly wouldn’t work under Armstrong. However, he would be able to sort out the defence and...

Re: Luke charman
I guess a viable option as a club is to look for young talent like Charman to develop and sell, even if only for 40k or so, and then that money can be used to get good but older players (who aren't looking for full time football) signed up on longer contracts so that we can have a strong spine devel...

Re: Player update - Rose, Charman et al
Yes it means that with a release clause in his contract any transfer fee may not be that high. That being the case it is all about the add ons we can negotiate with potential buyers. If a release clause is met I don't know that we can then negotiate further add ons? Yes this was my concern when I r...

Re: Tyrone O’Neil
Good to get O'Neill back - hopefully he can do what Charman has done and establish himself as a top striker at this level - the ability is there I'm pretty sure. This, and Armstrong's interview, seems to be suggesting Charman will be on his way imminently, which is not a surprise and completely dese...

Re: Spennymoor game
Sounds like Spennymoor Town still can't organise a game. If they are serious about getting to the Football League, they will have to get used to coming across decent sized followings where there are a minority of idiots attached - it's the reality of football at a decent level. We have a minority of...

Only 600 tickets, which is probably the safe level their away end can hold.
I'm not going - if a club can't guarantee my safety and take ownership of their responsibilities, they aren't getting my custom.

To be fair the referee is right on top of it The ref from Saturday proved that is no guarantee they will get the decision correct.. For what it's worth, it was a stupid challenge and gave the ref a decision to make. I do think however it was a harsh decision. As for the team, it's all a bit frustra...

Re: Darlo v Gloucester
Just watched the highlights - that refereeing performance was even worse than I thought at the time. The Cassidy incident is just mind blowing - he's looking right at it! If he thought it wasn't a red card, I could understand it. There's an element of subjectivity in that. But to give a foul against...

Re: Southport...
Unfortunately we’ve lost any sort of momentum. Gray got us to the play offs purely on the back of the steam we’d built up in previous seasons. The season after was a similar story to what we have now. More had to be changed in the summer than Alun would have liked and any team bringing in 10 or so ...
