Re: Dave Hodgson

He was on the original Advisory Panel and didn't contribute, had his chance when we needed him. Too busy with Snowdomes perhaps

Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?

MGFA Core business is essentially working with Darlington College providing BTEC Qualifications at various levels. The general advertising material often refers to him as "Darlington Manager" as well as ex professional footballer. This probably needs revisiting, best when he can declare Ex York Cit...

Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?

Looks like the fuck up was made when setting up the existing contract... "Darlington had little bargaining power as the terms of Gray's contract entitled them to a cash payment only if he left to join a a club in the EFL." Its the kind of oversight that might lead to not to realise we needed 500 se...

Re: I asked it before and was censored

A point well made Spyman. Would echo that John Tempest deserves our full support.

The relationship with MGFA needs now to be made fully transparent and if conflict of interests exist these need to be removed. Potentialliy an issue for York as well as DFC, possibly the FA too.

Pitch Covers

Do the club need help to get the pitch covers on ahead of the next game ? Bit daft to have them and not be using them

Re: the fa

As a consequence of buying the assets and goodwill from DFC 2009 we are fully entitled to call ourselves Darlington FC, use the name 'The Quakers', the badge and the history as the continuity was preserved. Had DFC 2009 been liquidated without 1883 acquiring the assets then these things would have b...

As a gesture to Barrow FC....

Maybe it's the emotion of yesterday!... but how about we invest a few quid from the whip around and have MKDarlo's words printed, framed and sent to Barrow FC for their clubroom? Somehow seems an appropriate gesture given the way the Barrow fans and club were a big part of yesterday.... and that ban...

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

That's exactly how the accounting works... It's the IN FULL bit that is open to creativity. The ultimate fear for a creditor is liquidation particularly for a football club who's assets are players and not much else, the major creditors will know pretty much what they are likely to get in the event ...

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

You miss the point Quakerz, the creditors may well voluntarily reduce the debt owed to them potentially down to zero. Its like you owe me a tenner, I say but I've only got £1, you say ok I'll take the £1 and forget the £9. The creditor exposure as far as BSP is concerned is £1 and not £10.

Quakerz... life, and more-so business, is about negotiation.... if we can get through the season and demonstrate a viable economic base for next season BSP will give us a hearing

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

This is a game of small steps.... step 1 is get us to and through the Kettering match. Imagine the size of crowd we can generate if we get that back on.

It's a simple question to the administrators 'how much do they need to stage the next home game' - if they tell us then we'll raise it.

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

You're right al_quaker... The problem as a group of fans is that we only have one voice for 90 minutes every couple of weeks.... thereafter we are divided.... get the lads together..... think Colchester and Wrexham.

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

The current 'crisis' oddly enough creates the opportunity to both fund raise and also to fix the current historic issues ie the stadium and the debt. The debt can be negotiated away through the process, remember this approach assumes no white knight, so the alternative for creditor is liquidation an...

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

By hanging fire we lose the moment. For example, a Boro fan may well put a quid in a bucket to save Darlo but they won't pay up to start Darlo Phoenix... human nature just ask Bob Geldoff!

Re: Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

It does a number of things: 1. Buys the receiver time to find a white knight 2. Potentially meets the 'footballing' creditors debt 3. Allows negotiation over the CVA to a manageable level (possible zero if it can be written off) 4. Allows the football club to establish a break-even business plan for...

Whip Round.... Amazing and a glimmer of hope?

Everyone seems to agree that the response to the Whip-Around is amazing, just think what we can do it we got organised.... could we cover the 'football operating costs' and get DFC to the end of the season? How: set up a number of teams each going at different groups eg: 1. Darlo fans 2. Darlo busin...

‘No’ the last man in the queue replied laughingly ’they weren’t the three wise men, they were the three wise monkeys…Hear-no-evil…. See-no-evil… and….. Speak-no-evil’. Slightly confused Steward asked the last man ‘And what are you doing here?’, to which the last man replied, ‘I am from Hartlepool an...
