Re: Liam Hardy signs...
Seem to remember at the AGM that MJ said a lot of clubs at this level cut their budgets and offload players as soon as promotion is no longer possible which could well be the case with Buxton. Also the fact that players came up for our match in their cars rather than hire a coach may be a sign of fi...

DFCSG
With Salford tickets seemingly not being put on general sale would now be a good time to really push the advantage of joining the DFCSG. With play-offs a possibility and the first few matches at BM likely to be sell outs members would have a major advantage when tickets are sold. Perhaps we could ev...

Re: Amar Called Up For National Team
It is great for Amar to be recognised but seen as he has not played a match for over a year it seems a bit strange. The last thing he wants is to damage his knee again.

9am is worryingly early for a 7.45 kick off. Either they know the pitch won't be playable or they are doing a lot of work on it tonight. Hope it is the latter but more likely the former.

Re: Dave Mills - Steps down
Of course the timing is bad but if the job is affecting his health then he has made the right choice. I do wonder if Saturday's postponement and the problems that always follow was simply the last straw and, if he was in any doubt, it made his mind up for him. Think the club should make him a Vice P...

Not to forget 3 home games in 8 days means people may pick and choose which they go to, more so if money is tight post Xmas.

Re: 250 tickets for Salford game
However this goes back to a point I've referred to over and over again, considering their ground only holds 1400 and according to the fa guidelines they need a minimum capacity of 1950 to play at step four, what exactly are they doing to avoid automatic relegation at the end of the season? And as f...

Re: Front page news
Think the reason the NPL refuse to explain their decision or give us a points deduction was because it was their mistake that allowed Bell to play as many games as he did. If their officials had done their job properly his lack of clearance would have been discovered after 1 or 2 matches. As it was ...

Re: Darlington v Whitby Match Thread
With rain forecast for Thurs night & Friday am maybe we should get some giant sheets of plastic and cover the areas where the water tends to stand, at least that would give it some protection because both Bishop and ourselves really need this weekends games to go ahead.

Think it depends on whether it is the whole pitch that is frozen or just the bit in front of the main stand that never gets any sun. If it is just that area maybe we could borrow/hire some industrial heaters, thaw it out then cover the entire pitch.

Try this for a radical idea.
Start a week earlier, finish 2 weeks later and leave January fixture free but allow any teams that have a fixture backlog due to catch up ( weather permitting of course ). It could also be used to play one of the tin pot cup competitions.

Re: bishop home game off tonight,no surprise there
Does anyone know if any attempt has been/will be made to remove the standing water?
Could we borrow or hire one of those sponge rollers from somewhere?
If the standing water was gone we would at least have a better chance of getting a game on.

Re: Darlington Rugby Club Meeting 14/12/2015 7PM
Think it was £225K for a basic 2000 capacity grade C ground, £300K for grade B. We raised £244K plus money from B2D, about £14K I think but have had to use £50K to cover this season which leaves £208K in the kitty. We therefore need a further £17K plus any increase in cost since last time to get to ...

Presumably any profit will come from the retail/business park he wants to build on the same site not football or rugby. DBC have already said this kind of development in this area is not part of their current mid/long term planning strategy and even if they did change their mind there is the small m...

Really wish both clubs would come out and tell us exactly what the differences are. As daft as it sounds, maybe one of us could come up with a solution that would suit both sides because, sometimes, looking at a problem with a different perspective is all it takes.

Re: Blackwell meadows
Two things: 1. Negotiating is a 2 way thing. It won't work if one side refuses to budge which looks like that is what DRFC are doing by wanting 100% food and drink income. 2. If the DRFC grant has to go back they could be in trouble because they have, apparently, already spent some of it on refurbis...

Re: Quaker Retail relocates to town centre
The rugby club are refurbishing the club house and Quaker retail have been turfed out of the little upstairs room they were using ( so it could become someone's office ) into the down stairs foyer which is far from ideal. Don't know if that is the only reason for the change of location but they were...

Also only being able to buy during working hours is not going to help. It is one thing nipping out of work for a play off ticket but not for a pre season friendly! Hope the club send Sunderland some extra tickets so we don't lose out on the money.

Enough is enough. The board must know by now that we...

Re: Gray's first 3 years - Echo article
Heard similar at DVD launch though no idea how accurate. Apparently the guy is insisting everything is done exactly as he wants it. While I can appreciate we don't want to upset the rugby club before we even move in there comes a time when we need to put our foot down so to speak.
