Re: No announcement until Friday
You interview then negotiate a wage. It probably would have been 'easy' to just agree to wage demands but that wouldn't have been good for the club. We are handling this exactly how we should. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk The fact we have offered the job to somebody and its hit a brick wall...

Re: No announcement until Friday p
That's simply ridiculous, serious questions need to be asked about the delay. Time and time again you prove yourself to be a total arse, I genuinely feel sorry for those that have to work with you, you just can’t help yourself. I’m impressed that for once we are not rushing in to make an appointmen...

Re: New manager poll
I'm now thinking Gary Mills with Darren Caskey as his assistant. Imagine the reaction from their Chairman and Martin Gray if we appointed them and then stuffed them at Blackwell Meadows. Extra motivation all round to finished above York. I'm sure these two will be 1 of the 8 exceptional candidates ...

Re: New manager poll
When do the interviews commence? Gatesheads short list was Steve Watson, Alun Armstrong and Craig Hignett of which Watson got the nod. I'd imagine Hignett is looking to get back into the game, and Armstrong must be looking to get away from Blyth so both of them will surely be on our shortlist along ...

Re: Who would you like to see take over?
CHRIS HARDY Without doubt the best man for the job. Lots of experience in Non League and plays a brand of football i think we will all enjoy. Hodgy was brilliant for us with lots of money at his disposal, he's not right for us now. Hignett was a top player at the highest level, but that doesn't mean...

Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?
We have been absolutely stitched up!! Tempest and Johnson accepting his resignation? Bye bye Compensation. Absolute fools........ or was it strategically planned between two friends? I'm hearing a strong rumour out better players have clauses in their contracts that allows them to leave on free tran...

Re: Gray joins york city
Couple of sly digs at us there, wonder where they stemmed from I don't think there's any sly digs. As a club we have ambition, but we couldn't keep up with Martin Grays ambition of continual success due to finances. Our club have made great strides since reforming, but we are now a victim of our ow...

Re: York sack Mills
Gray and his management team are nailed on for the York job. I heard a week ago Gary Mills would be sacked and Gray was the man. At the time didn't really take any notice but the fact Mills has now gone and the bookies have Gray as the favourite suggests there had to be some truth in what I was told.

Re: Darlington FC V South Shields Match Thread
Some of us fans, manager included, need to take your heads out of your backsides. South Shields were a better side, and it wasn't because we didn't show passion, desire or commitment, it was because they have been very well organised, they play exceptional possession football, and they are all tacti...

Won't be a big loss, will end up at Spennymoor or South Shields. Why should he end up at spennymoor, we have a far better team than Darlington, i always new we would catch up with you, then leave you behind There won't be any bites from me on this one, but you were the better team on the day. Re: Steve McLaren Accepts Consultant Role at Macabi Tel Aviv
it doesn't necessarily rule out Steve McClaren still being involved with us in some sort of capacity. He won't be in Israel full time so there is nothing to stop him helping us out, which has factually been the case right through pre season to date.

Rival Signings
The enemy have signed Ryan Hall from Curzon Ashton and David Foley from South Shields. If I remember rightly, Hall ran us ragged at our place back in January with his pace. Seen Foley on the TV in the Vase final and he looks a top signing too.
We seem to be biding our time this summer.

Some very bold statements from MG. Sounds very much like he has an investor or investors lined up to quote "Be full time in 18 months time" Going full time does not guarantee success, it does guarantee however, a massive increase in expenditure, so going full time needs to be looked at with extreme ...

The Management and playing staff must feel let down beyond comprehension. In the July, the players and management will have gone through a rigorous pre season trainin...

Re: Gainsborough Trinity V Darlington FC Match Thread
Gray says in his post match interview that"long term he is the keeper for us",despite blaming him for all three goals.Guess that gives Ed a clue to his future. He won't be the long term keeper for us if he keeps performing like today. Stubborn comment from MG, backing himself in making the decision...
