Re: Blackwell meadows
After 3 seasons at Heritage Park attendances have stabilized at just over 1000. Last year average home attendance 1040, year before 1097, hardly a dramatic fall. These 1000 are our core supporters and they will not suddenly desert if we have to play another season at Bishop. Coupled with the fact t...

Re: Blackwell meadows
what with everything being up in the air, if we win promotion this year would we be allowed into conference north using heritage park? To answer your question, yes we would be allowed promotion to the Conference North at HP as long as plans were in place to bring HP up to standard by the April of o...

Re: Brown
I wouldn't be keen on having a new signing as captain. I don't think the captain should always be the best player either. The most important qualities in a captain are attitude and leadership. I'm thinking Hunter? Or even Mitchell? Both those players are too quiet on the pitch to be captain. there'...

Re: Gateshead Friendly
Looked like we knocked the ball around quite nicely in patches of the game. Still hard to say what kind of level we're at, cause you can tell by watching the highlights the intensity isn't really there in the play compared to a league game. Add to that the formation and personnel changes and it can...

Re: Brown
The initial post on this board about Brown leaving was posted at 11pm last night. A Gary Brown thread was opened on the Spennymoor board at 10:40pm ha ha, they do love an ex-darlo player. Can't see it happening though, I imagine it will be back to the Northern League for the travelling benefits. Can...

Re: Brown
He will certainly be remebered. The captain who put us back on the road to where we belong. Always gave 100% and you could tell that being part of our revival really meant something to him. Congrats on the new little one Browny and best of luck at your next club. Hope to see you at HP and BM in the ...

Re: Further sponsors announced
Good to see more local sponsors getting on board and the club building more links with businesses in town. Hopefully it will only keep increasing now as we get closer towards a move back to the town. Good sponsorship streams will be important in funding our playing budget and our off field progress

Gateshead Friendly
Thread for our friendly this evening. Just noticed that they have signed Ryan Bowman for an undisclosed fee from Torquay. Probably too soon for him to be in the squad tonight but another one added to their ex-darlo contingent of Russell, Chandler and Ramshaw. (plus Mickey Cummings manages their U21'...

Re: Fixtures are out
Anyone know the fancied teams this season in this league, Trying to get an idea if we have a hard start or difficult run in but my knowledge of this league is a lot lower than I thought it would be! from the people I've talked to they think the challengers will be between: Darlington, Salford, Ilke...

I know its only 4 extra games but it makes our season so busy, especially if we can get on a run in one of the cup competitions.

Re: Darlington Football Club strengthens it's badge and bran
I think the part that people were having problems with was this quote below: 'It must be stressed that only individuals or groups who have obtained written approval from the Board of Directors, are permitted to use the DFC badge in any way.' Many unofficial fan groups and individuals use this 'brand...

Re: Phoenix from the flames
I was quite routing for that name. Though definitely in its russian form Lokomotiv Darlington. Would have been 1 part recognition of the towns history and one part 2 fingers up at the FA In what possible way would it have been sticking 2 fingers up at the FA? "Yeah, look at us giving ourselves a la...

Re: Quakers v Sunderland AFC pre season friendly ticketing i
As Divas has said all the Sunderland players will have been wearing heart rate monitors. These feedback directly to the computer to assessing the players condition as the game goes on. The referees at that level have something similar with GPS watches with heart rate monitors to prove they have don...

Re: South Shields Friendly Saturday 11th July
Mitchell has certainly hit the ground running this pre-season, looks very fit and soon found his touch again.
Agree with others that Kneeshaw looks quite handy. Would definitely take another look at him in the next friendly (Against York?). But certainly seems to have to pace and touch about him.

Really appreciate Sunderland helping us out with the friendly. Hopefully it raised a good amount either to go into the playing budget or to go into the back to darlo fund.

Re: Blackwell meadows
Good to hear reports from inside the rugby club that the clubs need each other and that there is still a deal to be done. Hopefully the board can get things sewn up soon and work cant start at pace to get us in before 2016. Still think ot would be good to have some events lined up to raise money for...

Re: Quakers v Sunderland AFC pre season friendly ticketing i
Happy with that. Looks like the team gave a good account of themselves. Burgess looks a big strong CB and Nowakowski looks huge. Real man mountain in midfield. Turnbull looked like a quality passer of the ball. I agree with those who are saying Mitchell looks like he's stronger this season. And alwa...

Re: Blackwell meadows
Dartford were utterly ripped off then. FC United got their 4,400 for 6.5million and that is quite a nice looking stadium with hospitality areas in the main stand! All money we don't have though, although I wouldn't say robbed, they have a nice ground although it could do with a few more seats. http...

Re: Quaker Retail relocates to town centre
My main worry if that were to happen is what happens if we're promoted at the end of this season?! That wouldn't be my main worry. Could even be a possibility with the money bish were given that HP would be adequate for a conference north side. (If they make the grass bank a full length 4 or 5 step...

Re: Hatch on Transfer List....again
Hatch is a fans favorite so it would never be a popular decision to see him go. But I think maybe we have to show a little trust in Gray he's build two promotion winning squads in 3 years, im sure whatever the reason is for his turn around that it does have some basis. Looking at the squad when all ...

All helps in improving the budget and standing of the club on and off the pitch. Looking forward to seeing our new kits in the flesh, reall...

Re: Quaker Retail relocates to town centre
I think a town centre location suits us in the long run. Maybe we can establish something more long term in the dolphin centre. Its well known in terms of location and gets a good amount of foot fall so should keep the club in the forefront of some people in the towns minds. As for the Blackwell mea...

Tbh i haven't seen enough of D. Mitchell to know how far he can go with us. He showed enough against New Mills in our final league games of last season that i think he has some decent attributes. I imagine ay game time in a darlo shirt would be with the reserves rather than the first team as we're q...

Re: Durham tomorrow. KO 1.30 and 3.30
Ignoring the rusty pre-season errors, I'm really looking of forward to seeing how the Turnbull-Portas combo works. Class players but they seem to play a similar holding game. We would need a decent attacking midfielder to complement these 2 or perhaps Thompson will play some role in the centre. I w...
