Looking more likely it’s Hodgy as interim manager.
If this is true our board may as well resign too  Absolute laughing stock

We could do a lot worse and it would generate a buzz and a bit of PR for the club.

I’d love to know who his number 2 would be! Any clues?

Re: Who next?

Interesting to see some Shields fans want Armstrong to replace Arca despite how it ended here Maybe a refreshed AA, without the annual need to sell the best players he has assembled, might just do OK somewhere like that. I’d agree but Shield’s money looks like it will be tempered moving forward giv...

Re: Who next?

Martin Gray is an obvious choice for those of us guided by past glories. I’d like to see him team up with Brian Atkinson in some way if he did return.

We need something, or someone, that will galvanise us into a decent BtB effort.

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford

The Taylor situation is a massive red herring.

The simple truth is Gowling is entirely out of his depth in every way.

The thought of 3 managers in a year is properly grim, but Gowling is such a disaster we have no choice whatsoever.

Sadly, JG has to go before the New Year.

If we don’t, attendances will drift below 1,000 as we slide into regional football.

I'd love to know who turned us down, or withdrew from the running, before we appointed Gowling. It seems like more than just Hodgy said no.

I'm still personally disappointed we didn't appoint Lakeland but who knows what actually happened.

To be fair our transfer listing of players was a pretty poor effort. We didn't actually send a circular round other clubs who might be interested. Obviously just dependent on word of mouth. I got the news of Warrington and Scarborough transfer listing players yesterday. I got Chester's last Monday....

I'm going to get pillared for this but, as bad as last night was, I don't think that result in isolation is enough to sack him. We have taken 2 wins recently and looked decent against Chester in the first half before they figured us out. We're battling at the bottom so we're going to lose games and...

Re: Darlo v Chester

Hazel's strengths are definitely not his hold-up/link-up play, even though he did get 11 assists last season. However, inside the penalty box he is a serial goal-scorer/chance-getter, and that, if he does depart, will be very hard to replace. He scored 21 non-penalty goals last season. That is ridi...

Whilst I wasn't baying for him to go, it was clear Armstrong's tenure had run its course, and he wouldn't get beyond the end of the season. However, this is far, far worse. JG does not want to work with the players we have, has lost the dressing room by offering them out whilst they're still in the ...

It has the potential to become very messy as Taylor, Lees, Sukar & Nelson have all been offered to other clubs.
Surely he has to back himself to improve the players we have.

He hasn't even tried.

I'm quite sure, logically, Gowling will have chucked a number of the squad on the transfer list. However, from my limited experience at semi-pro level, I can't see us not naming them to other clubs. We're bottom, look genuinely dreadful, and we need to shift players out before we can get any in. I d...

The difficulty is that we haven’t really got a squad suited to any particular formation/style as it is so badly constructed. I don’t really care what formation we play as long as the new gaffer and players know what they’re doing. For all the chat of letting players go, someone else has to want them...

17 wins, 12 draws, 17 defeats over last 46 league games (we started last season with 4 points from 3 games, 5 from 5 games, then went on to win 6 on the bounce). Last season is evidence that you can't just take "the last 20 games" or "the first 10 games" and extrapolate results to suit whatever poi...

Re: National League North 23/24 - FA League Allocations

A lot of the pyramid is in dire need of restructuring. The only solution would be to go to 4 divisions at step 2 - but the impact of that would be to remove a promotion spot / playoff spot. What people fail to recognise is that the leagues are representative of the distribution of the population in...
