Re: FA Trophy

The R rate is lower than here in London in Darlington... I can't see why it won't be Tier 2. Tbh I think tying going to an appropriately distanced outside stadium to these rankings is absurd. Especially when retail is open. London are expected to go into Tier 3 aren't they? It might be but also the...

Re: Ex Darlo players -unsporting behaviour?

Glenn Naylor "winning" a penalty in the play-off game at Victoria Park. It's ok though if it's against Hartlepool, right?

Let's just count the cash and move on, I'm sure we'd all prefer this than to have gone out to Prescot Cables.

Charman the only positive. Maybe the fact we only seemed to pick up one injury rather than the usual 3 or 4.

Re: FA rules on abandonment

Whilst I'm mot arsed if its played again or not, had the ref done his job properly then they wouldnt have scored the second goal so there would have only been the 1 goal in it with stoppage time still to play. You think in the 4-5 seconds between the players going down (which wasn't immediate) and ...

Re: Darlo v Boston Match Thread

Nicky Hunt’s welfare is the paramount concern here. For the record I think Boston should be awarded the game 2-0 and the 3 points. Can't argue with that, might have felt different if there was one in it but 2 goals in 4 minutes with 10 men was unlikely. Not sure the league will take into account ho...

Re: Swindon away

Anyone checked the Swindon goal for offside? The "squared" ball went forward, the attacker is ahead of the 2 closest defenders, only Michael Liddle may be playing him onside but the distance he is from it and the angle make it difficult to tell.
Didn't think the Rivers "foul" was a penalty.

Re: What the Arena should've been

If you compare the Arena to a sensible sized (8-10k) seater modern stadium of similar design (i.e. a concourse under/behind all 4 sides), surely the footprint would be close to the same size, the difference being the height of the structure which affects the building costs for sure but does it reall...

Quite like Rovrums. Never quite understood how having lots of extra empty seats translated into higher running costs though.

Agree with tdk1 about the green & black hoops, the Hutchinson Telecom logo and the football league badges on the sleeves all just worked. Still got mine although I've got paint on it so I don't wear it much.

Re: Has anyone played for DFC and scored for England?

Brian Little played for us. We had an injury crisis pre-season in 1990 and he registered as a player and played for us at least once. I remember the players shouting "Gaff, gaff" if they wanted the ball off him. He played for England but never scored. Don't think he did. He once put himself on the ...

Mike Bassett played for Darlo and went on to be England manager of course, just after winning the "Mr Clutch" cup with Norwich.

It's not Paul Heckingbottom because firstly it is clearly Glenn Naylor and secondly, this match was played in August and Heckingbottom didn't join us until March that season.

Re: Ground share

The Arena had higher running costs than a sensibly sized stadium for sure, but the flip side to that is it had greater revenue generating potential. The 1st admin was surely due to the building costs so, yes, it was responsible. The 2 subsequent admins were due to chairmen spending beyond the club's...

One of my favourite players. Not the best we've had but whenever we got a free kick 30-40 yards from goal it got everyone off their seat because he was capable of whipping in diagonal balls that were undefendable. Never seemed to be able to replicate the same ball from corners though.

As was tweeted recently the designs were chosen from Puma's limited range. Maybe there just weren't any hooped designs different enough from the last two seasons (which were very similar).
I do like them all and have voted 2.
