Re: Jason Ainsley
If Groves has aspirations for his vanity project to go full time and replicate Harrogate Town into the football league, and at the same time lose a fortune, then good luck to him.Unlike us they will never become sustainable with that fan base and I just fail to understand what he is trying to achie...

Re: Ex Darlo players -unsporting behaviour?
I vaguely remember someone scoring at the Polam end after controlling a ball over the top with their arm which was really obvious to people stood on the terrace but the referee couldn’t see it. Can’t remember who it was though. Anybody remember this? I remember Garry MacDonald scoring at the Polam ...

Re: FA Trophy
Really think they are going to lift the tier before the Christmas free for all? To be honest I hope they don't, however I have heard from various sources who are putting measures in place that we will be placed in Tier2 next week. Could be watching Spenny at home on boxing day at BM. At the Arena. ...

Re: Jamie Holmes
That's the one I was referring to. About a year after Euro 96. After that particular injury he had lost a yard of pace and acceleration - so it looked to me anyway. That had a noticeable effect, whereas the cruciate in 92 obviously hadn't because he was almost unplayable for a number of seasons afte...

Didn't Alan Shearer and Niall Quinn injure both cruciate ligaments... Shearer at Blackburn and Newcastle and Quinn at Manchester City and Sunderland...Although I'm sure Shearer lost half a yard in his speed when he recovered, which I think was back in about 1997 or 1998 I think it was still at a ti...

The is with one eye on next Sunday, we have to give ourselves the best chance of causing an upset. Why? The league is far more important this year. We aren't going to win the FA Cup, and the big prize for a non league club - an away tie at somewhere like Man U, has lost it's value because there won...

Re: Team v BPA
What is doubly frustrating is that I have seen some bad Darlo sides over the years, some really awful ones, but I can't remember any of them losing the first 4 home games in a season. This is not a bad side, no matter what style we play or what our weaknesses are, there is a large element of luck t...

Re: Team v BPA
One last thing.
We were missing too many good players tonight - Hunt, McMahon, Liddle, Hatfield, Holness - arguably Storey (though Laing and Atkinson have done well together for me) - I get that Hunt can't play yet but could none of the others have played?

In all my years watching Darlo I can never remember us missing a player like we miss Hatfield when he is not there. Wheatley was good again today but he was on his own. And Holness. Hatfield, Wheatley, Holness midfield 3 in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 - problem solved. I'm with darlo2001uk in thinking that those...

Re: Team v BPA
You can have as many plans as you like but when a team scores a goal then parks the bus its very hard to break them down. Reid should have done better for their goal without a doubt. Looked to me like some were saving themselves for sunday on that performance. 4 times in a row this has happened - l...

Re: Team v BPA
Don’t understand the formation tonight. Why go 4-2-3-1? Just put Atkinson in midfield, bring Storey in at CH and not play maguire or O’neill. The two with Reid doesn’t work, he doesn’t have the legs. Hoping for Holness, Hatfield and Wheatley on Sunday. I can see why AA stuck with Atkinson in centre...

Re: Team v BPA
How often do you think we will be one match away from a place in the FA Cup 3rd Round ? You're missing my point. It's not about how often this opportunity comes around (any other season I'd be hoping and praying we make it and draw a big club away), it's simply the fact that getting into Round 3 th...

Re: Team v BPA
I can't believe that people are saying field a weakened team tomorrow to concentrate on the cup. We play our best line up for both, or what's the point? And if we *must* prioritise one match over the other, then prioritise BPA. We are W3 L4 in the league (assuming the Boston result stands, which it...

Re: Back to the Arena
Why? I think you seriously overestimate how big crowds will be at the Arena... It was bad with 1500in I can't wait to be playing in a 25000 seater rust bucket with about 6/700 fans in. Hell I don't think the Arenas made a big enough joke of us yet Let's put another tier on get the capacity up to 45...

Social distancing will apply so BM is going to be around 500 capacity.Darlospike wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 5:11 pmDepends what the council risk assessment says.... below 1000 I’d imagine if social distancing still applies....
So if we are in tier 2 and can host 2,000 fans then the Arena will be the only option.

On another note that’s three goals on the bounce for Sousa, I really liked Donawa but I believe Sousa is an upgrade. Fantastic bit of business by AA. So far so good with Sousa. Nifty wingers tend to run out of steam after a run of games, or they get a bit cold and can't play any more (like Gillies)...

0-0 draw then :D Actually quite a close game in the end, so I called that wrong! They were just starting to get back into it when we scored our second. Credit to Louis Laing, terrific block a couple of minutes before we doubled our lead - that could've been a game changing moment. Sent from my Pixe...

I think we’re being a bit over-confident for a team that has only kept 2 clean sheets in 10! We played some brilliant stuff on Tuesday night but let’s not get too over-confident, as equally as Tuesday was good, this time last week was equally as bad! Yes but Boston just have quality and experience ...

Re: Fans before Christmas
Does this reopen the possibility of playing at the Arena again? To get everyone who wants to watch in person and still comply to social distancing then it makes sense. Having said that, more chance of HMG adding in new tiers which will prevent people in certain areas attending any function by havin...

Re: Fans before Christmas
No team should have to borrow money to replace lost gate income. We've been done over, we only started the season because clubs were assured that their costs would be covered whilst they were playing behind closed doors. We could end up racking up an ever larger debt for 6 months. OK grants cover lo...

Re: Guiseley v Darlington
Should have finished about 8 or 9-0 to us. The woodwork, their keeper and a couple of misses from Campbell kept the score line a bit more respectable.
That they got a goal is almost a crime against football.

Campbell FFS!
Should be on a hat trick.
And Hatfield hit the bar - should be 4-0.
Just the usual Darlo failing to capitalise again.
Get in Maguire 2-0
