Re: A "Misunderstanding" . . .
It looks to me like the administrators got pissed off over something, thought fuck it and set the wheels in motion to liquidate us. Obviously then they got whatever concession it was that they wanted and we are back to "normal". This does not mean though, that the administrators are automatically t...

A "Misunderstanding" . . .
. . . between Raj Singh and the administrators is the explanation given about yesterday's latest debacle. You've got to wonder about the type of communication taking place between new owner, administrator, Houghton, Todd and the poor football club players and staff - never mind the fans! At a time w...

Re: Any ideas for the new site?
First of all this messageboard looks very good and is easy to navigate so well done on getting it up and running so quickly. Just a couple of ideas for new sections: It seems to me one of the most popular things on here ( for posters of a certain age) is Darlo nostalgia like the quality thread Geor...

Re: Oldham's and Chesterfield's new stadiums
"Ah . . . if only!!!" .... When these grounds are built (hardly stadiums) local rivals will be saying "you'll never fill it" .... Just accept what we've got .... at the end of the day as we all know, if it is managed correctly, ours can be a massive asset. Put it another way .... without it ...

Oldham's and Chesterfield's new stadiums
"Oldham have revealed plans to leave Boundary Park to move to a new 12,000-seater stadium in Failsworth. The club hope the proposals, developed in partnership with the council , could become a reality for the 2011 season." "Work has begun on the club's 10,600-seat stadium , which is expected to be r...

Re: notts and sven
The appointment of Eriksson isn't the bizarre part of this for me, it's the issue of a hugely-financed consortium taking over a lower league club which has little recent history of sustained success. Is there now a prospect of more rich foreign owners coming into the English game and raiding the low...

Re: Todays Echo page 3
I thought the arrangement was that Singh would get the club, the stadium and 50% of the land and Houghton would keep the other 50% of the land? Logic would dictate from this that Singh gets the land with the stadium on and GH is left with the field over the road, no? If this was correct then GH wou...

Re: Todays Echo page 3
Don't understand why people are so surprised. Houghton has a financial interest in both stadium and land, can't imagine he won't want to make money out of that interest as soon as possible. Problem is, how much does his 50% stake negate Singh's attempt to make money for himself / club / both? By its...

Re: Houghton in todays Echo
If Houghton has "nothing to do with the football club" at all, why would him building a football academy (or anything else) benefit DFC? He certainly wouldn't have any reason to offer incentives to then attend any matches. For me it's still a grey area of this land / stadium ownership and how it all...

Re: Sunderland tickets available on the night
If you're running a business, which relies to a great extent on the number of customers you get through your front door spending their hard-earned dosh, does it not make sense to make that spending experience as easy and pain-free as possible? The comparisons to other forms of entertainment aren't r...

Re: D.R.A.S.T.I.C
Also, the Supporters' Club and the Supporters' Trust helped to raise over £10k (TASK) for the club to be able to afford to get Danny Graham on loan from Middlesbrough - wasn't there another player at the same time? This was heavily supported by fans at the time - in an effort to avoid relegation to ...
