Re: EU Referendum

I'm a bit confused by this 2nd referendum petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215 "We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum." The part I don't u...

Re: EU Referendum

People don't like what I say, because I ask awkward questions, which don't seem to be answered or the replies are ambiguous and don't say what is happening. I think the more and more desperate claims the remain campaign are putting out on a daily basis, is pushing people to vote to leave. Genuinely...

Re: EU Referendum

Do the bookies know something everyone else doesn't? Majority of them now have Remain at 1/6 (with some at 1/7). Leave is 4/1 (with some at 9/2). Personally I hope that there is a significant distance between the two side (at least 10%) so that it feels conclusive. If it is 51/49 then there will be...

Re: EU Referendum

Having seen Cameron's performance, I'm not sure it was an advantage to the Remainians. It doesn't matter what you or I think of Cameron's performance, it's what the undecideds think that matters. Just to confirm it's not the Brexiteers simply having a go because you disagree with them, I'm on the s...

Re: EU Referendum

I think it hints at panic amongst the remain campaign, to put Corbyn forward, as there is a danger that people will just be put off voting to remain within the EU, because he is very unpopular and voters decide to do the opposite to what he says. It would take a fairly weak-minded person to vote on...

Re: EU Referendum

Interesting that the in campaign hasn't used Jeremy Corbyn, perhaps they consider him a liability, surely not? Same way the leave campaign don't use Farage surely? WTF? You're suggesting Farage is really a Remainian?!? That's an odd conclusion to draw from that post. It seems to me that he's only s...

RIP Mr Hockey

Gordie Howe has died aged 88. Played in 5 decades of NHL All Stars games, but only ever scored one Gordie Howe Hat-trick (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 fight). Not a good month for sporting legends. With Ali passing last week and Howe passing this week, Barry Conlon will probably want to stay indoors next week.

Re: Best Quakers performance ever

Barry Conlon's hat trick against Macclesfield on the opening day of the 2006/07 season. I know this thread is supposed to be about performances of the team overall, but Conlon at his best was equal to at least 2 Ruud Van Nistelrooys, 4 Zinedine Zidanes, 4 Fabio Cannavaros and 1 Bobby Mimms. His perf...

I'm not going to get involved in this argument. That's partly because I don't know a whole lot about fracking and partly because I agree with Lawman3's signature, but if you fancy a long read about energy and the environment, I'd recommend this: http://waitbutwhy.com/2015/06/how-tesla-will-change-yo...

Can't afford to cancel, as would lose too much money as 6 of us are going. No I don't wish innocent people to be killed, but I do think it is inevitable that there is such an attack sometime sooner rather than later in Turkey. Translation: "No I don't wish innocent people to be killed, but seeing a...

I'm off to Turkey in the summer, booked a while ago, before things started to kick-off in Turkey with the PKK. Some part of me hopes something happens in Turkey and that the British government recommends that people should not travel to Turkey and then the company we have booked with would have to ...

From what I remember footie manager have continued to call us the right name throughout. For the fans by the fans was their games motto back in the day! I know we weren't playable but we were in the game. Ok, well, in that case maybe I'll add the 1883 then remove it again just for the sheer thrill ...

Re: EU Referendum

Most likely we'll stay in. As we found out last year polls can't always be trusted, but they generally point at least narrowly in favour of staying in, plus as you get closer to a referendum the undecideds tend to fall increasingly on the side of keeping the status quo.
