Re: Favourite ever Easter fixture

Yes that makes more sense the good Friday fixture was played on an afternoon Malcolm poskett giving Hartlepool an early lead which sparked the trouble. The Easter Monday game which Walsh starred in was played on.an evening hence probably the returning darlo mags from Sheffield.

Re: Favourite ever Easter fixture

Hi everyone just wondering at this time of year and at a loose end wondering what other fans think was their favourite game of the Easter period of all time for me it as to be the Hartlepool derby at feethams in 1982 2-1 down at half time before Alan Walsh struck that magnificent four goal salvo to...

Re: Favourite ever Easter fixture

I can remember playing Scunthorpe and Workington on successive days. If memory serves me well I think the pitch was in a bad state for the Workington match and there were puddles on the surface. Thankfully the game went ahead and we got the victory. If I remember correctly one of my favourite playe...

Thinking about Scunthorpe games, did young Kevin Keegan ever grace Feethams?
He may well have played in that good Friday game unfortunately I don't have the match day programme anymore to confirm this.

Re: Isle of Man to join English pyramid?

I went on the two Isle of Man tours I went and watched the isle of man best Burnley 1-0 in 2000 it was their first ever victory over a football league club they celebrated like they had just won the world cup.I also recall a couple of Rochdale supporters telling me that they had been sat drinking wi...

I'm amazed nobody to date has suggested Colin Sinclair he held some absolutely appalling Darlington sides together in the early to mid 1970s.

Re: National League advises ending the season

It still resonates in the town of barrow with the way that they lost football league status. I'm sure that was only their second application for re-election in 1972. They did not finish bottom of the league that was Newport county if memory serves me right. The team that replaced them on a second vo...

I agree the league's are probably done and dusted - I wonder if the fa will allow the conclusion of the the fa vase and fa trophy though seeing as both competitions were at the semi final stage

I also recall just two days later it was the players turn to be on the receiving end in the battle of Northwich. We got kicked off the park that night smudger claimed a Northwich striker bit a chunk out of his head. Keeper mark prudhoe was out for about six weeks and I think we had a midfielder call...

Does anybody remember fisher athletic away that season probably the most terrifying experience I've ever had at a Darlington game. About 300 Millwall skinheads turned up some of them in their forties looking to do let's say not very nice things to the Darlington contingent. Amazingly we took four co...

Fair point spen also hope when all this is over clubs are going to improve hygiene the bucks head at Telford is a disgrace the terraces absolutely littered with pigeon droppings I can't believe they haven't been roped in by health and safety officers.

Everything else apart we must be one of the unluckiest clubs in the world for the first time in a generation we have cup runs which look like they've sorted our finances out and then this tragedy develops. I also wonder how many of our fans were looking forward to a last away day of the season weeke...

Re: Season VOIDED

Bizarrely, there might be some clubs that could be quite happy to be relegated under PPG. I can’t imagine they would relish another season in NLN unless they unearth a pot of gold in the meantime When your talking about cash strapped clubs in our division I fear for the likes of alfreton town Mauri...

Re: Season VOIDED

Excellent couple of posts gramps but like I've stated elsewhere I don't know what your opinion is but I think for the integrity of both league and non league football barrow must be allowed to fill the vacancy in the football league created by the sad demise of bury.

Where the fa have slipped up is doing things back to front they should have blocked relegation and promoted the top two clubs where possible throughout the pyramid many leagues would have started with extra teams next season admittedly. But therefore clubs have increased revenue from the two extra h...

Quite happy for Barrow to go up as they were more than sympathetic to us when we were in trouble. Otherwise we should leave it to Ginge to do the maths and tell us who is up and who goes ...

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

No matter what decision is made at any level barrow must replace bury in the football league no arguments there. Also like I said a few weeks ago if the season is null and voided surely poor thommo reverts back to 94 goals and we didn't have a cup run after all.

In fairness there were about fifty farsley supporters several of them had come by train there were about twenty of them in the rugby club after the game. I wonder if it would be possible to finish this season at the start of next season and then temporarily split the division into two halves with a one off league cup to subsidize missing league fixtures. Just a thought seeing as this virus could be around for a while yet.

Well after this evening’s news we can throw the entire 20/21 season in the bin, it isn’t happening barring a miracle.

Best get those vaccines on the go as this is our only way out of this now.
Chin up divas miracles do happen - didn't we have a fa cup run this season.
