Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Tuesday April 18th2023

First time I have been for a while, and although we had chances and the referee bottled a straight red, the second half was terrible. We were playing like it was the last 5 mins of the game all thru the half. No composure on the ball, it was just lump it forward. Our defence is shocking, Lawlor is a...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Tuesday April 18th2023

I did email and message on social media the club about trying to get as much exposure as possible for tomorrow's game & Saturday's in regards to dropping prices for the game. I've seen so many clubs dropping prices to get the grounds full at the time of the season and to get maximum support for the...

2 wins out of 3 will do it I think. Given we have Kings Lynn in the middle, tonight is must win.

Re: No interview tonight

It is blatantly obvious that the signings since Beck left have been terrible. Blyth's goal record is terrible. To be honest Beck's goal record wasn't great before this season, but this season he has been prolific in comparison to most seasons. What really annoys me is that we should have potential p...

Re: New Striker

With our finances we are cannot always go with tried and tested, sometimes we need to take a punt. This is a punt. Its either that or we have to rely on Mondal from the bench. I rest my case.

They're in 8th now - watch them drop.
Potentially sounds like wages might not be paid in the future - however we are close to the end of the season now so I doubt any will jump ship - but still it can't be good for morale.

I really thought Kings Lynn would have pulled away from us by now. I think Fylde are favourites to get automatic at this point.

Alun said last week we had an offer in for another player, presumably with the Beck money, obviously that bid has not been accepted - we need another option, although Hazel has certainly stepped up to the plate since Beck has gone.

They've launched an appeal following Flowers' red card. He's facing a 3-match ban. Isn't that usually Mission Impossible unless it's mistaken identity?
Given previous appeals we have made they have got no chance, in fact the Telford manager had no issues with the red at the time of the interview.

Re: Wheater

I am not against signing older players but we need to look at situations like this, when a player is coming back from an operation the odds of a set back is there - it is money that is lost in the playing budget, yes injuries happen, but we seem to have a long history of signing players like this.

Re: The Top 13, Saturday January 28th 2023

I don't wanna jinx it but our next 5 games look decent on paper compared to our last 5, but then of our last 5 Chorley was the one which I'd have fancied us the most in! Wins at home and draws away are, on paper, very possible which would keep us amongst it and possibly build up some credit on 8th ...

Maybe if there's a couple of quid left over we could get that Middlesbrough PE teacher who lives in Boosbeck and has scored goals previously at this level. We've tried to sign him in the past. I've just read the Echo piece, so it looks like the story is true. This is annoying, A.A. said previously we had no need to sell anyone, so if we keep on shooting ourselves in the foot by selling off our silverware then watch the crowds start to dwindle. Beck has a release clause so the club - lega...

With regard to Harvey Saunders, he has had very little playing time at Bristol Rovers this season. He's regularly on the bench but does not seem to come on much these days. I would imagine his contract is up at the end of the season and I expect him to leave. He looked as though he was going to be a...

I remember a match a couple of years ago, when Steve McClaren was the at the match on the balcony. This is quite a funny interview with Luke Burke, who has been on loan at Buxton and has been recalled. Basically he didn't want to go out on loan, and then by the sounds of it didn't want to come back :)

Fantastic first half, they could not live with us and could have been 4/5 again by half time. Lamberts strength's aren't tracking back, however I don't want Alun's team to get too negative. To achieve a playoff place you have to play to our strengths - Buxton don't score many goals, but don't concede many either, Lambert is a good lockpicker.

Obviously disappointed with the result yesterday, and I was not there, but a bit puzzled by the timing of the first 2 substitutes coming on 3 minutes before halftime. Listening to Alan’s post match interview it was a purely tactical change, but I don’t understand why you would not wait until the in...
