Re: Current Squad
Would be a real shame to see a player as talented as Dale Hopson leave. Martin Gray clearly failed to utilise him properly last season. Also there isn't much point in keeping him anyway if we are going to continue just lumping the ball forward as we did for much of the second half of last season. D...

Re: Joe Tait
I can see Brown playing right back In favour of Walker? I don't think so. Fair enough but it wouldn't be the first time. Brown started there in the play offs. Walker only came on due to injury. We had Tait back then though. Shoe-horning your best players into unnatural positions does not work. Take...

Re: ian Ward
All the best to him, he did more than a good enough job for us. Hopefully we've got a decent fee for him so we can go and get ourselves a centre-mid. Does anyone know if Davis has definitely left? It was mentioned that he'd agreed terms with Durham a while back but nothing official has been mentioned.

Spennymoor transfer list Alex White and Chay Liddle.
Think it was mentioned somewhere that we were in for Liddle before he moved to Spennymoor so it'll be interesting to see if we make an enquiry.

Re: Movements
Shane Henry signs for Spennymoor from Whitby.
He was a player we were rumoured to be after according to someone on the Whitby forum (also correct about Portas). Seems to be another good signing for Spennymoor.

Re: Craig Gott
Gott probably just wants first-team football and if that's the case then so be it. I highly doubt he'd have handed in a transfer request last time around if he was playing regularly.
But yeah, I'd love to have him back and if he signed then he'd more than likely be a mainstay in the team.

Re: Movements
Davis was a good squad player to have, not quite sure he had enough for a team pushing for promotion though and if he has left due to wanting first-team football then it's understandable. As mentioned I couldn't imagine Gray getting rid of Scott and I wouldn't like to think he'd let Robinson go but ...

Willie Gibson renews contract at Celtic Nation.
Shame because if we were in for him then he would have been a great signing but a small contingent of NL teams trumping us is what to expect sadly.

Re: Movements
Hatch is a funny one. The money we can offer will be nothing on what he was on at Gateshead I'd have thought. Realistically the past decade of being a full-time pro should have set him up nicely. Obviously his affinity with the club helps too. Hatch is interesting. Am I right in thinking his partne...

Re: Movements
Whether we talked to McReady or not I have no idea, but I honestly can't see how we can't be just about maxed out on our playing budget anyway. We've brought some real quality in, and not really let anyone go - and I'd be amazed if there was more in the pot than last year. It made more sense financ...

John McReady signs for Spennymoor on a 2 year deal.
Bugger, had a feeling that he may have been one of our targets. Certainly no messing around from Spennymoor this summer.

There's a rumour on NLZ that Celtic Nation's best player Willie Gibson is going to sign for us. Position/history etc.? ?.... although if he stays then he's a good option to have to bring on for Thompson and give him a rest or to offer us something different when we're struggling. Am not convinced with this "rest" business. It severely backfired on us against Burscough, which ultimately made us lose our momentum in ...

Re: Movements
Hopson is much better in a free-role as we saw a few times last season but you have to question how often is he going to get that chance because not only do we already have Thompson but we may not even play a formation next season that fits him in. It's difficult to justify having both Hopson and Th...

Re: Hatch signs for Darlo
I'd rather not have Fisher or Purewal drop back into midfield, it'd just be a case of shoe-horning our better players into un-familiar positions and that isn't what we need. Get around 2 or 3 players off the wage bill and bring in a bit of quality in midfield because that's exactly what we were cryi...

Re: Hatch signs for Darlo
On paper a very good signing. Nigh on 30 appearances last season for Gateshead so should be in good shape. Need to see a few leave now, couldn't see Ward getting a look in after the signing of Armstrong so certainly not now. As for Fisher, if touted around then there should be plenty of interest fro...

People say Fisher hasn't had a fare chance yet, well he's had a lot longer than some others that were shipped on who were arguably much more successful.

As for Purewal, more like a poor run of goalscoring form spanning around 10 games than half a season, and even then he was putting in big performances. Seem to remember him going on a similar run of form in the Northern League before delivering in the remaining two games, in fact his scoring pattern...

Re: Movements
As already pointed out Walker was a stop gap after Harrison left although I'd have no qualms about him being first choice right-back next season. Athletic, tall, good technical ability albeit lacking on the physical side, but he proved he was good enough in the games he played last season. Hunter ag...

Re: Tait & Hunter
Arguably the most low-key signing of the summer has turned out to be the best. Had Thompson not pissed all over the league like he has done then Hunter would definitely be my POTS. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the summer with Tait. Three top quality centre-backs vying for two places, ...
