not sure where you get the figures to support your idea that Darlington would get 3000 in the BSP? Unless is was a season when Darlington were at the top of the table, it is unlikely the crowds would be anywhere near that. From other reports I'd say he'd done better than just 'ok'.

If teams are going to suss Thompson out then I'd rather it be on the wing rather than centrally.

We gave him a central role and he did very well, but almost everything went directly through him. Teams then marked him out of the game and we didn't have a plan B.
