BBC RADIO 5 Live News Programme 6th September 2022
Has presenter Rachel Burden interviewing people from Darlington and is broadcasting from Darlington market this morning. They are trying to get a feel for the Red Wall voters response to Liz Truss. Re: Fan Owned
When I last looked they were overdue in filing year end accounts at Companies House. The last set which were lodged disclosed very high debts I wonder what is happening or has happened to that debt mountain. If the club is carrying huge debts it is a little difficult to see how fan ownership will be...

Re: BTB - It's back
Different ways of looking at it, last year we had an extra day as it launched on the 30th April. Anyhow by close of play on the 27th May it was just over £96k and by COP on the 28th May it was just over £102k. We are currently on £84.5k, so guessing we will be about £10k/£20k down on last years £13...

Re: BTB - It's back
Does anyone have figures for where we were up to this close to the end of BTB last year? I seem to remember that there was a flood of money in the last couple of days but I have no idea how much came in during that period last year.

Re: Darlington Georges
I will never forget the sound of his leg breaking after an absolutely horrendous tackle. I don’t think that he ever played agin. I am sure I was at the game where he suffered the career ending injury but I don’t remember any horrendous tackle or a broken leg. My (and I am definitely not claiming th...

Re: Leamington FC Away
Last time I was there a bus ran from outside the station to the ground (and back after the match). Looking at their web site the "directions" page suggests that there might be a park n' ride service run by the club from the station - it talks about high profile matches, but also goes on to say that ...

Away at Kidderminster and those pies...
I was looking at the remaining fixtures and saw that we still have to go to Kidderminster. One of the plus points of a trip to Kidderminster, football apart, is the match day food. I might be the last person to know this but if anyone else is looking forward to the same excellent pies as supplied wh...

Re: Southport V Darlington
Can see a few games been called off due to the weather , as travelling over the pennies is going to be tricky. Might be clear later but for any travelling supporters who are thinking of using the M62 to get to the West coast: At 2:43 am The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the M62 near Roc...

Spot on!My opinion wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 3:22 pmWould not surprise me if AA went 3 (Lawlor Ellis Cooper ) at the back. Don't know who he would play in midfield but have Purver and Rose in front of the 3.. I think Lambert and Charman will play off Cassidy..
Will be interesting to see what the team actually will be.

Re: Next seasons kit
Credit to Joma think there's some decent kits in there also nice touch with the DFC on the back of the neck. Tough choice but think Home 2 and Away 3 for me. (Love the red away kit but think red is one of the most popular home kit colours in the league so get to wear it less). Home 2 and Away 3 for...

Re: Terry Melling
I have a vague memory of him scoring at the Tin Shed end in a big game against Bradford City. I think it was possibly the final game of the season possibly 1969ish when both sides were in with a chance of promotion. There was a big crowd about 11000 including a large contingent from Bradford. If I ...

Re: Kidderminster Harriers 13th Feb
Harriers manager Russ Penn said: “You couldn’t write it… we’ve planned all week to face a good Darlington team tomorrow. It’s the sensible decision but… in the last six weeks, we’ve had three games where we’ve had to cancel the day before because of the weather. “Disappointing is an understatement b...

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void
The National League are now saying that an "independent panel", not a "sub-committee", will be appointed to hear each case. So that is already a climb-down from their initial correspondence to clubs within the last 24/48 hours. The cases will be not be heard until the results of the resolution are ...

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void
On what is possibly a lighter note Chester FC attempted to hold a zoom meeting to update supporters. I am told that the update was just starting when it was hacked / interrupted by what seemed to be some foreign pornographic site. After a break the meeting resumed and the manager began to speak only...

Re: Season at risk of finishing early
Chester & Romford MPs have both written to Oliver Dowden on the issue.
Don’t know if the sport loving MP for Darlington will be doing likewise but it shouldn’t be too much to expect.
