Re: Alun has been sacked
Three oblique mentions on this thread so far for Martin Gray. Is he still persona non whatsit? He must have got the situation with our budget by now so if he can work with that could we work with him? As an unreconstructed Gray ultra I would welcome him and if we want managers with a strong non-lea...

Blackwell Meadows’ floodlights
The Rugby Club is looking to install new lighting and are looking for crowd funding to help them pay for it. Doesn’t look to be going too well so far https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/drfc-let-there-be-light?fbclid=IwAR1ku1WjZVwsPO5tbl9xSXE9NfnND65f8tT_9vyQr8lBJMNIGoIgwmjqM1M_aem_AdmiX1VkoXAHJLr7BQhAL...

Re: Hereford away
Its a long way back from what could have been a career threatening injury, in fact it may still mean he will never play league football again. We would rightly be annoyed if they forced him back quicker than what is right for him and ended up with another crock on the books. I trust the judgement o...

Interesting thread comparing the finances of Curzon Ashton with those of DFC https://x.com/benpearson1997/status/1687526892541255680?s=46&t=2i95ycAi96kbbkN82E29Ew Does show a huge amount of room in Curzon's plan to be paying interest on a facilities as part of their costs does it. Scrappy first half
Much better second half and had a couple of really good chances.

Re: National League TV
You managed to get further than I did. I am stuck waiting for an email with a code to allow me to set up an account.
I too was pretty much assuming that we would be able to buy a pass for each game.
If that is not the case then I think I will stick with DFR and the excellent highlights.

Just imagine where we will be when we have a team as good as the fans. BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! Very true, but can we make it sooner than later? Any chance the club comms will come out with some message of thanks to every fan who chipped in and helped us surpass a massive target, again sooner than...

I have a little sympathy for the average fan over there but there are a couple of things which keep this to a very low level. First they can’t say that they weren’t warned. Secondly an image representing the way our plight was viewed by their club keeps coming into my mind. https://www.thenorthernec...

Would snap your hand off for a ground like Curzon Ashton, I always thought it was very smart. I’d have a larger main stand of course but the view from the terrace opposite the main stand is excellent. Agree 100%, really nice ground with a superb playing surface. Why, he was working for the return of Raj? Appreciate what MG did for us getting us up the leagues quickly, but he showed his colours trying to bring back the 1 bloke who put us so low down the pyramid in the 1st place. I don’t disagree but it’s important to note that our board were involved too, w...

I'm all for the garish option myself. Unlikely to win as I suspect that the majority of the electorate is on the conservative side in terms of taste when it comes to shirt design. From my point of view this is a pity. Some of the most memorable shirts, and some of the favourites I have, are ones whi...

We did well to get him in the first place.
We are not in a powerful position when it comes to getting players who we want and who are coming from a full time position so let’s be thankful for what he gave us and move on
As long as Alun is happy here then that’s good enough for me

I don’t know if it is a significant factor but some supporters (eg me) travel to Darlington by train for home games.
The current rail disputes, which have entailed some significant weekend industrial action might be a further reason why some attendances are down.

In the midst of this perfectly valid debate, nobody has yet mentioned that jack lambert was within maybe two inches of scoring the goal of the millennium so far today. I'm not even sure he was in the centre circle, let alone the opposition half. I'm also not sure we'd have scored the first goal tod...

Travel by rail from the North West looks problematic anyway* but there is a strike on Saturday involving Avanti staff so this is a game I will miss.
* I’m pretty sure that it was easier to get there by train 3 years ago than the times and changes being quoted now
