Re: Away Shirt Vote
Don't get your hopes up on sponsorship. I've mentioned/emailed about the Mr Q company and it's not been followed up.

Re: Nice bit of trivia
I'm reading a great book "Europe United" where the author tried to visit games in all 55 UEFA countries in one season. A Portuguese team in the Europa league had no European players!

Re: Curzon V Darlington
There's also Ashton United, Ashton Town and Ashton Athletic. It's a very decent setup, they're always welcoming, no need for segregation and never any animosity that I've seen. Great pitch too-lay off them! They're a decent team and we've been really struggling so let's enjoy the ride.

283. Half must have been Darlington, loads behind the goal and in the big terrace.

Re: Curzon V Darlington
Very rare for us to get to two games on the bounce but six points-brilliant!!!! Fantastic support and the players/management seemed to really appreciate it. Young in goal was excellent. Some decent footie and solid performances with a wonder strike from Will who was everywhere. Stupid short corners ...

Showed my wife 4 and she said "that's not nice"! I'm all for change but 4 is horrible. I've still got that blue black and white striped Hutchison Telecom shirt from my thinner days so it lives in a wardrobe forever. Some dickeads on that journey home. Why drunks can't all be fun like those from Leed...

Re: Darlington v Buxton
A great day out! Our £2 returns worth every penny. Drinks in town, food in the market, met up with lots of old faces and topped it all with a brilliant win!! Roll on Tuesday. So pleased to see Nelson do well and what's the odds of a Young in both goals?

I accidentally booked 6 tickets from Lime Street to Darlington £2 return each for Saturday. Still 2 spare if anyone's interested. Train goes via Victoria and Leeds. Not sure how that would work. £84 now!!!

Re: Any new faces
Think we need to remember Barrow has actually been hospitalised with food poisoning. Also think it's unfair to to think either of them wouldn't want to play if they're fit.

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
I'd thought it was about getting game time. Surely if you're always on the bench you'd rather be somewhere playing. Even if we go down it would only be until the end of the season, signed or on loan?

If we'd stuck the £30,000 on it to win how much would we have got?

Hats off to you Kev. You've been absolutely brilliant and as an "exile" (I'm not really) your coverage has helped me keep in touch over many years. A huge thank you and hope you enjoy watching in the future, not through a lens!

First team stats he's scored 2 league goals. Hatfield and Curry top scorers with 3 each. Says it all really.

Re: Asante
I can't see anything about contract length in the info from the day he signed and I've listened to his and Josh Gowling's interviews. There's nothing except how he scores regularly and he's an all round striker....I'm still waiting for the proof. I can't believe one of our club moles can't shed some...

Re: Asante
My patience is definitely wearing thin if he's contracted for next season. If that's the case it's a ridiculous decision. Had he come in fit, playing regularly and scoring goals that would put a different slant on it.

Re: Asante
I agree that with hindsight this signing was daft but he's on a contract and if he's genuinely injured why would we play him. We have no idea what he's like around the team, how motivated he is or how good he might be.

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024
Well the preview says Asante is expected to be fit but more worryingly Barrow has been ill. At least there's a thorough list of who's injured/ill/on loan. If only our strikers could strike....
