Re: Darlington V Farsley

York have called there game off apparently. Wonder if they were worried about altringham, or want to see how kings lynn get on before playing or actually the virus?

Re: Darlington V Farsley

I am certainly going, looking forward to it, as is my son (he only goes to odd game, I am trying to get him back to full time supporter again). Meeting up with a couple mates who are going to. My understanding is that there are no cases of the virus in Darlo and 7 in the Leeds area so assume relativ...

Re: Hereford

I was at the match last night too. It is not the last match at the ground but was the last scheduled night match, (under floodlights as has been mentioned). Game could have been 6-6, Hereford just took there chances and York didn't, to be honest Hereford played the better football at times. York's d...

Re: Hatfield & Wheatley

CEO not seen at the ground??? I have seen him there at most games, in fact I would say he is at every home game, (I don't specifically check on him) We need to be pleased we have him, it was rocky before he came in and financially the club not in a good place. We have been stablised, more profession...

Re: Guiseley

I have a few mates who are york knight fans, they don't appear to be enamored about sharing with footy club to be honest, they think rugby club is well managed, (it does look that way), and the foot club not. Rugby league season just starting so little impact on yorks ground at the moment. Me I am g...

Re: Guiseley

Some have picked out Martin on this thread, I am not sure this is fair. No player really looked good, centre forwards need feeding, and there was little of that. Their pairing at centre half had him permanently covered, often having hands on him and stopping him getting past. To be honest they cover...

Re: New kit

I am with others who have said on here, that new shirt not for me this year, but this is immaterial as I am sure all those people who voted will be buying and there are around 800 who voted so potentially good number of sales. This is not just about tradition, (although I have a fair number of shirt...

Re: Guiseley

Deserved defeat at 3-0. While they did appear to have some help from the ref we were second best across the whole pitch. Could hardly put 2 passes together and not one shot on target. Players got in each others way and the ball given away time after time. They were fitter and stronger than us and ha...

Re: New kit

1800 votes from an average gate around 1400, seems to show a fair bit of interest. My vote will be for 2, as I think I would wear it as a casual shirt as well, ( you don't see many people around the town wearing the hoops with pride although people clearly hold strong views). As I said before if it ...

Re: New kit

I normally buy the home and away shirt every year but if it had been hoops again I would not have bought the home shirt next year, the last few years have been too similar. As a club we have to be commercially aware and this season I thought it would cost sales so would not want to repeat that. A sh...

Re: Craig Morley

I find it strange that this is such a major topic, personally i am not interested, as far as I am concerned this is up to the individual and the board. It is like these reality tv shows where people are so interested in other people's lives, me I am just happy to enjoy my life. I have trust in the c...

Re: Harrogate Match

I agree, came away happy knowing our team put in a fighting performance. Losing Liddle in first half a disappointment as I thought he had been outstanding lately. Team looked tired even from the start, (understandably so), even Hatfield looked slower than normal. Both goals coming from mistakes, but...

Re: Harrogate Match

Weaver has already stated that they will be going out to win the Trophy as they would like to get to wembley, so expect a full strength team being put out. They are a good team who beat Pools 3 times recently, can play football and the long ball game. Will be hard test for our team, and expect a bit...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Starting to wonder if the "let's blame Darlo fans" is due to them worried that they might have got sued if some one got hurt, like the old gentleman the had to get a seat for, (I saw him not long before the Stewart's starting to push the fans, having words with them, I think pointing out the dangers...

Re: Spennymoor Away

I was stood not far from that corner and to be honest from what I witnessed, the barrier was wobbling from the start and I mentioned to my mate that could be dangerous, then once the barrier had move forward the darlo fans stood back from it,(and they could have spilled onto the pitch and pushed bar...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Thanks Super Les, normally agreed well before so was starting to wonder.
Could be a big hit for them if they lose to us again, with Kings Lynn to follow, and us having Gloucester, we could be 5 points ahead of the "Pride of County Durham" by Saturday night. Fair bit of pressure on them.

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Does anyone know what the arrangements are for the Spenny game on New Year day, Normally we have something on the web site, I may have missed it, but have looked on Darlo and Spenny web sites. I am assuming that it will be segregated, but as the ground has been upgraded a touch over the close season...

Re: Darlington V Spennymoor

Having watched the game and the highlights, I can only assume that Ainsley the Spenny manager had turned up at a different ground when he said in the Northern Echo that Spenny controlled the game. They were certainly physical, and played a lot of long balls, but controlled game? To be honest you cou...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

My understanding is that if the SV goes ahead, land has already been agreed for us to build on, but clearly that would take years for us to get the money to get it built up, so decision would be which site can we negotiate the best financial return over the intervening period. BM has issues if we d...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

the model we could look at is Scarborough - went bust in 2007 and within 10 years now have their own ground paid for by years of fundraising and matched by sponsors and grants. Been to Scarborough's new ground, they were supported by the council to get back in the town but their new ground was very...

Re: Interview with Johnston on Official Website

I don't think DJ is proposing moving from the fan owned model, but increasing revenue. The only way to do that is increase crowds and commercial opportunities. BM has big disadvantages in increasing revenue commercially, (my understanding is that we even pay the rugby club a % for every advertising ...

Boys playing well against a massive side. Some good football on show. Hatfield scored a cracker. There goal came from a winning header falling perfectly for their player.

I couldn't get to the walsall away game so definitely going to this one. Hope we have a good following to get behind the lads. This is going to be tough but expecting the team to put on a good show and who knows we might just snatch a win.

What about " I am a believer" by the monkeys, suits our current situation and people can join in the singing🎶 :D

A fair few on here saying they don't like sweet caroline but not saying what song we could agree on to sing along to.🤔

Re: Sweet Caroline

Seems popular with the crowd, a lot singing it in stands, think more teams than York use it. Same as Old G I am not sure I like some of the songs played on match days but then I am old too. If not that song then what song would be good that old and young can sing along to rather than just listen to?
