Re: Boxing Day
I have to say I was there at the fencegate game and I remember it was David Johnson who came over and sorted the problem out and arranged the clearing of the seats so fans could move down that end and create some space, it was a shambles from Spennymoor. Saying all that I for one will be going, woul...

Re: Southport V Darlington
Terrible weather, but some good football played at times, Charmers goal an excellent solo effort. Both teams could have won the game to be honest. We struggle at the back when players attack the ball in the air and there goal was an easy gift. Saying that I thought Ellis was awesome after there goal...

Re: Darlington V Guiseley
That's is exactly what I understood re both Ellis and Smith. Seems people are asking to know more and club are not communicating etc, but they cant be listening to what is actually been said on the interviews. Seems strange?

Re: Southport...
Very poor tonight, they deserved the win, we had one decent shot on target all game, they had a plan, and we didn't, they looked faster and fitter than us and won all first and second balls. We were slow in build up most of the time. Tommy Taylor made a howler for the 3rd goal but made up for it wit...

Re: Super 50/50 Draw
I have also bought on line, but mainly prefer to pay cash on the day, because I am old I suppose 😉. It is fantastic the amount that can be won, compared to some of the "bigger" clubs, for example York have roughly double our gate but no where near the amounts that can be won. Our lass who is a York ...

Re: Darlington v Leamington 23/10/21
At the Aycliffe game Nelson played the full 90 minutes, and had plenty of running in him, but late in the first half he stretched out a leg to try a intercept a ball and looked uncomfortable for a short while and didn't seem to run as much in the second half, seeming to be more concentrating on posi...

Re: Darlington v Leamington 23/10/21
Thought we played well until they scored and as has happened several times this season the team lost cohesion and handed advantage to the opposition. Was a poor game overall, and the looked like they were up for it more than our players, winning most first and second balls. Jack Lambert looked good ...

Re: Away to Newton Aycliffe - Tue 19th Oct
Anyone at the game last night, can comment on how we played? First 20 mins or so Darlo hardly got out of there own half, but grew into the game. Played some nice football at times, Lambert looked good and tricky with quick feet, and you could see the quality and awareness of Nelson, quite few of th...

Re: Darlington V Telford
Think I would like to see a slightly different format, mainly because I see Headley as a more attacking style midfielder, and De Santos is able to play either wing and also good defensively so can help out mid field, plus we need players nearer to Cassidy, who wins and holds the ball up well, with b...

Re: Blyth v Darlo
I would have taken a draw at the start (but was hoping for a 2-1 win) listened to the game, good to see the confidence to come back from 2-0 down. It may just be me, but while I like rivers he is tricky and fast but not a defensive battler, and I am still not sure about Mondal, so I would have thoug...

Re: Blyth v Darlo
This is my favourite away day game and unfortunately I cant make it. Neither team high scorers but feel we may just get something out of this, going with OG's score.
Only difference I would make to team above would be Headley in for Wheatley (he has been off his game lately).

Re: New signings?
It is far too early to be panicking after a couple of games and questioning AA's future. The team look ok going forward, infact play some good football at times. Once defence is sorted think we will have a decent season. As the video's show AA has been trying to get additional players in, what more ...

Re: Curzon 31.08
A poor start to the season, but so have others, York who were favourites lost there first three, Spenny now lost 2 in a row. Clearly we have failings in the centre of defence and in confidence with the pre season and start we have had, but it is very early days. To be honest I don't think the new pl...

AA appeared to indicate he was not having any luck getting anyone in I believe.

Re: Whitby Town v Darlington
First half we had a number of good chances, and were the better team playing some nice football at times, but again unable to take them chances, second half we were second best and overall thought Whitby deserved the win. I thought this would be a good test for the lads, they are a big physical side...

Re: Andrew Nelson
Last time I saw Nelson was at our game at York when both him and Brown had to go off after tackles in the first half, it was his last game. Came out of the club next to the ground and he was stood by himself near the ground obviously waiting for lift, I called over to say thanks and hope he recovere...

Re: York sign Mark Beck
Beck will have wanted full time football (which is why he left us I believe), we cant compete with teams like York financially (they were charging £12 to get into friendlies, and 2000 tickets sold, so financially very lucrative friendlies ).Yorks forward line looks really good to be honest, how Wats...

Briggs has a good job and doubt he would want to go full time, and by all accounts a good player who scores a few too. Problem may be spenny and Gateshead could offer more I suppose.

Re: Promotion from Step 2
I personally have no issues with teams that decide to carry on, but believe it should be a combined league to make it a suitably sized competitive league. If those teams can afford it, including the extra travelling, it is nothing off our backs surely, we made our decision on the league. Just my opi...

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final
I personally have no idea who I would release, I like them all on there day. Some have mentioned Atkinson, but imo I think he was an excellent technical player, (besides that 10 mins in the cup), so would keep him depending on fitness. The players now have time to recover from injuries, and build th...

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final
Really disappointed, not so much because we lost, but the way we played. Hornchurch were not a bad team, controlled the ball well, didn't waste balls, were able to pass to there players and must have done there homework on us as they had runners for balls put through, and had several other good chan...

I know I am being very selfish, but was hoping game went ahead as I am missing watching the town, but I do back the board to do the right thing for the club so just will just have to smile😁. Re: League restarts 6 February
Although DJ has said that financially we are secure till the end of the season, that would take up all of any reserves we have, and then have to get through the close season assuming that fans will be back for next season. This would put real pressures on the club. If the season does finish it may a...
