Re: Premiership Relegation
Ah well if you had a lecture on it from some trendy academic 7 years ago it must be true. Maybe if you'd observed our attendances 7 years ago you'd have seen Newcastle's relegation had no impact whatsoever on us. Why've you ignored this in your response? So why you think it'd be any different when ...

Re: Darlington v Nantwich Match Thread
Galvanising but boy do we look tired. Lots of heavy legs out there and without any midfield rotation i can see mistakes being made. Unsure of the 4-3-1-2 formation he persists with as it makes the full backs exposed and also no out ball down the wings. Thommo impressive tonight. Onwards and Upwards...

Re: Frickley v Darlington Match Thread
Bit of a funny one tonight, game should've been put to bed at half time and then closed out from 60-65mins. We need Brown back and we need to remember what we're good at. I'm glad we play again in 48 hours and let's hope the lads show how much they want that title.

Re: Top 9 after todays games, Saturday Apr 02nd 2016
Super les - whilst i agree it may be a push to suggest we have strength in depth, most teams i see can barely fill their bench. Its incredible the run we are on and both blyth and ourselves will far surpass the pts total that was required last year. Will look a lot different in 6 days! Sent from my ...

Re: Watching England play
Welbeck!? Odd thing is we were 2-0 down against Germany before half time. Let's be fair. It was a completely different game vs the dutch. Vardy and Kane should've earned themselves a start in most games due to their outstanding premier league perfomances. Dier, Alli, and Barkley have at times been f...

Re: Gate prices going up next season
It's a fucking wander down from most street parking and at worst, you can all get a bus down. Charge what the demand requires.
It's a much shorter walk from the arena, and if anyone uses it as an excuse then never mind, there will never be a stair lift from the Boot and Shoe to the ground.

Eitherway a player has passed on that Army wants guarantees and sees Spenny as attractive at his stage. Suppose it opens the door for an incoming player or Amar.

Hearing that Armstrong wants to play week in week out and Spennymoor have offered him good terms for next season!

Re: Penalty vs Halesowen
Harrycharltonscat -- you seem to be really negative at times and doubt the team on here after 3 pts won.
I'd be annoyed our defender bounced off their player whilst he was going away from goal? I wouldn't be annoyed the ref gave the stonewall penalty..

Being back in the town will hopefully push ST sales up. Also cash flow is needed on a weekly basis so pay on dayers are vital.

Re: Amar Purewal
I could argue agaisnt you both in terms of Armstrongs length out and the types of injury suffered etc. But Gray tonight said Amar will be offered another contract for next season. In my opinion paying cash for Cartman and Hardy whilst Amar was bring paid weekly is an odd one whilst simultaneously as...

Re: Amar Purewal
It means I've seen a lot more of Army on the pitch than I have Amar..... ...whilst it is tongue in cheek, it is also a complete fact. A fact that illustrates the direction each player is going in, IMO. Yes he's worked hard to get where he is after a terrible injury, but are we to carry on being loya...

I could say the same about you and picking fights instead of commenting in regards the football (which I admit has maybe been too plain sailing for you, what with your confrontational nature ;)). Anyway, I don't see any harm in fans putting forward their views. Clearly suggesting that moving a huge ...

Re: Amar Purewal
I've seen a renewed vigour from Army recently, which is a damn sight more than I've seen from Amar.
Depending on who's available in the summer, Army could still do a job the level up whilst not starting.

Re: Referee at todays match vs Rushall
To be fair he seemed to just want a game of football. Gave us some fortunate freekicks from standard pushes etc but did not receive help from the diving handball from their lad. Armstrong took a kicking today and I think whilst he looks for it often, the ref needed to offer him more protection. Sent...

Re: bbc cameras
They are gaining footage of our team. Which we pay to see and our club pays to play. Salford will be receiving money too. To say 'you want the bbc to pay to do their work' is an odd one. I mean yes, like they pay for all their access to potential footage so they can justify the licence fee? Hardly t...

Re: Match Thread
Nowakowski played much football lately? That'd be my concern.
For me it's the tried and tested 4-4-2 with a midfield of Thommo, Portas, Turnbull, Mitch.
In many way's it makes the Hardy purchase a weird one, we had 4 strikers, 5 if you count Nowakowski, but we only have 2 wingers.....

He's hard to define in that sense. I do think he'll come good, however.

I agree, as long as it's constructive and not to the detriment of any progress, I can't imagine going from Jesper to Mills to Tempest in such a short space of time would help anything flow, for example. Plus some people are complete morons and have their own agenda.

Let's not make assumptions on the credibility of board statements in the future eh Gramps, it seems we've been lucky enough to find somebody with a fantastic skill set and I'd prefer it if you didn't impart your wisdom on such a connected bloke doing something for free.

Re: liam hardy
When looking at strikers you usually want to see one of pace, height, strength etc. Hardy is an odd one. However, as has been said, the service was just balls over the top all night and he nearly made it work. I think his fitness could be better as he stopped chasing things down leaving Gaskell to d...

Re: Darlington v Ashton United Match Thread
Feels like a loss, one mistake we made and they punished us. However on balance we weren't good enough to win it, they were very organised and were under EVERY second ball that came down, so much so it was infuriating. Having said that, how two strikers miss the chance that fell to Carts first, who ...

There was definitely a health and safety requirement to salt the wooden boards on the temporary seating stands! If the hill is too slippy to stand on then fook me!
