Re: Reserves

Good to see the Reserves (or "Ressies" as they were referred to on the Club site!) start to help the First Team. Don't think this was the case when we first took them over was it, as the difference in standard was too great, but it has ben narrowed now? Saunders has played for them as well hasn't he?

Re: Stalybridge match updates here.

Their keeper made some great saves but how often have we heard that this season as an "excuse" why we didn't score more? I think the simple fact is that as in a number of positions, players at this level are better than we have faced before, therefore we just have to be more clinical in front of go...

Re: Stalybridge match updates here.

Not long back... What a god awful team they are, we had loads of chances to put the game to bed but failed... I have to say the pitch were one of the worst I've seen for a while.. But a valuable 3 points I thought Turnbull was excellent (my MOM), perhaps a rest and a few words from MG have done the...

Re: Stalybridge

Their website previews the match with the words "pitch permitting" but does not seem to mention any planned pitch inspection. Anyone know (from their various connections!) if one is planned please?

we can't be scrutinising decisions MG and the board are making to try and make us better. Nonsense. We can and should be doing exactly that. Re: Transfer

Hardy to Darlo - £15k Hardy to Buxton - £10k A deal that didn't quite work out as planned but that's football. Sometimes big signing come off and sometimes they don't. Whether it's cost neutral or not, we can't be scrutinising decisions MG and the board are making to try and make us better. So if i...

I'm surprised he was used so sparingly given an outlay of that proportion. I would have expected that showing that kind of faith (transfer ££££s) in his ability to deliver the goods we would then have a strategy in mind to play to his strengths and give him a proper chance to thrive. Reading some o...

Re: Transfer

Remember when the club tried to claim the Hardy deal was cost-neutral? Would love to bring this up at the next fans' forum. What would be the point, that board is no longer around. I'm sure you'd be politely told that it isn't relevant now. Interesting response which is essentially: "Move along, no...

I cocked up my reply above, for the avoidance of doubt.

I agree with Gramps. I guess it could still be cost neutral if we get £14,000 back from Buxton but I doubt it!

Re: Transfer

Not a huge surprise, although it's a shame as I think he's a good player. He will leave me with one of my favourite memories (from a regular game) - that goal v Salford. Interesting from the Echo - he cost us £14k, and we're expected to get a similar fee from Buxton. Wonder if we're likely to see a...

Re: Turnbull

I wouldnt expect Turnbull to look anything but unhappy when he was subbed. No player likes being taken off, but as good as he is, he has been below par in recent games. Having said that, he is not alone in being below par. After looking like we had tightened up defensively a few games back, we are ...

Re: When is the next fans forum

The previous Fans Forums have been a great success therefore it is not unreasonable to ask when another might be planned. That is not saying we don't have faith in what both clubs are trying to achieve. It's all about communication and being open and transparent isn't it?

To put the attendance last night into context. Next accounts are not due till 30th June 2017, so not sure what he was on about unless our last accounts were filed late? It is not uncommon for companies to file accounts late it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister.

Re: Wednesday night..

Why should we be steamrolling them there are no easy games in this league. I`m expecting a tough game as they won at weekend and will be full of confidence given our home form lately They've won 2 in 30 games. If we don't beat them tomorrow then we don't deserve to play in the playoffs. There are a...

Re: 'Selling out'

I'd have absolutely no objection to us, or any other club, making the most of the opportunity. In fact I'd be disappointed if we didn't. If there is a clause in the contract with existing sponsors to override existing agreements, then that's sensible planning. If the existing sponsors aren't happy ...
