Re: Scunny... s*** hits fan
Echos of george Reynolds at scunthorpw where folk have been banned for speaking the truth. Was the guy who runs this site not banned for soeaking out against reynolds? https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2023-09-27/fans-banned-from-stadium-for-criticising-clubs-owners He was indeed. Re: Scunny... s*** hits fan
The Scunny board say tough, unpopular decisions are having to be made to put the club on a stable financial footing. There is speculation that this may include giving up on the eviction battle at Glandford Park and moving to be tenants of Gainsborough Trinity, shedding players or going part-time, a...

Re: Scunny... s*** hits fan
Southend and Scunthorpe look right on the edge at the moment. Southend have a threadbare squad and the tax man is circling again. Not sure what their ground ownership situation is like. Scunthorpe have a lot of liabilities and doesn't sound like they have the revenues to meet them...who is going to...

Re: Josh Gowling...
His assistant is our former midfielder and coach, Danny Rose. Well known to all Darlo fans, not the former England International who quite publically fell out of love with professional football. Thankgod for that. What a useless waste of space he was He also had depression. He was also un-fit. Seem...

Seemed to do ok at hereford, not sure what went wrong towards the end. I take it his assistant is another danny rose. Not that useless one who stole a living in the premier league and was nicknamed weighrose. Where is josh gowling based these days? Dont think hes ever been based near the north east...

Will josh and his assistant be full time in there roles. Seems a hell of a hike for them for 2 evening sessions of training and home matches. Even alot of lower league managers of pro teams are either from the area or move up there

Re: Next Manager - Vote!
Got to say I'd still be surprised if Ian Watson was interested. It's surely approaching time when he and Mike Williamson will be offer FL jobs based on what they've achieved at Gatehead. At that point he can either be a FL No.2 or potentially stay and take up the Gateshead managers job. Both seem r...

The article in The Athletic makes for uncomfortable reading for any football fan. https://theathletic.com/4844776/2023/09/11/investigation-football-club-owner-convicted-fraud/ Whether former owner Swann wins the litigation or current owner Hilton/ White/ Anderson/ Mellors neither is someone you wou...

Gateshead benefit from a group of local business people (who are also fans) who are willing to bankroll the club along with a fan group that owns 20% of the shares. It seems to be working for them and they benefit from sympathetic and supportive use of local authority owned Gateshead Int Stadium. H...

Re: Alun has been sacked
The more I look in to it, the more I am edging towards a Steve Watson appointment, if he is interested. He did a good job at Gateshead in the National League, with a PPG of 1.37 over 60 matches, under trying circumstances. His record at York City over two seasons was also impressive, with a PPG of ...

If alun armstrong went who would the club bring in, some fresh young manager like chester and spennymoor have or some old hand? Defo does not seem like a big pool of experienced nln managers in the area.

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Last season would not be relevant if we had changed managers in the summer, but we didn’t and the lack of momentum we endured then, has carried on into this season. If on the other hand we had finished last season strongly and perhaps lost in the playoff final, then no question Armstrong would have...

Re: Blackwell Meadows’ floodlights
They the DRFC are using the cash cow Darlington FC for updating their structure., End off Absolutely. The annoying thing is before we came, the DRFC were in dire financial straits and may have gone bust then we could have bought the ground from administrators and become owners not just tenants. Re: End of the road for match programmes?
Sadly i agree with all the above. It will hack off the ground hoppers but they are a whingeing lot anyway who dont seem to grasp how much of a waste of money programmes are. Maybe clubs could do them on a ad hoc basis like big cup games, title deciders etc and make it more of a collectors mag Showi...

Completely bizarre and while its obviously a shame for those involved in the club, you have to wonder how on earth they were sucked into something like this. None of it made any sense. Exactly. For anyone daft enough to buy into this crap which had gone sour before the first game i struggle to have...

Wholly deserved. I’m not sure I like this ‘mental health card’ stuff btw. Lots of people do have very genuine mental health problems. Marcus Maddison may even have at different stages. It’s not really related to this thuggery though. The guys an absolute cretin. Most young people would kill for the...
