Re: Sat 29th Dec - Ashton United (Home)
I'd be tempted to change a couple of things for York, maybe bring in Wheatley and Kokolo. I'd also like to see how Nelson and Ainge pair up, if a) we keep Nelson longer and b) if Ainge is ever fully fit. Ainge fully fit …. yeah right Keep Headless Harvey as No.9 - close down from the front Kokolo i...

[quote="Wiseacre"]Reading some of the views elsewhere about over reaching the clubs resources made me think about more than one season where a strong position fell away after some unexpected results. 50 year Quaker might remember the 1968-69 season when we went top in September and stayed there more...

Re: Am I the only one - balanced view
You're right. For me the lowest point was in the 1972 season (I think) when Mansfield ran riot and put seven past us at Feethams. Peter Graham had to comfort our (young local) keeper who was almost in tears at the end. We were in a very bad run of form. Wasn't it Southport who banged 7 past us at h...

Re: Darlington V Altrincham Match thread
You can talk about formations until the cows come home but it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference if players aren’t doing the basics Quite. Possibly the most alarming element of yesterday for me was the attitude - we rarely looked like we gave a stuff and, when there was a bit of passion from so...

Genuinely disappointed about Brown. A great servant to the club. Perhaps in terms of ability he'd hit his ceiling, but we'll miss his leadership qualities. And of course he stepped up to the plate as caretaker boss after the Atkinson-Gregan fiasco. He'll be missed. This for me as well. Players with...

Obviously a clash player, I like how he comes back to help the defence, not many strikers will do that. Has anybody thought what would happen if Styche left as he hasn't got much of a history of staying with any of his previous clubs for long? I haven't seen a Clash player like him since Mick Jones...

Both feet off the ground.
Had to go.
As has been mentioned, great performances from Talbot, Collins and Heaton in particular, but credit where its due - Scott at L.B showing why he's still good value even if only as a squad player

Galbraith put in a decent shift today, being regularly exposed by Shields' counter attacks. Agree that Burgess still carrying an injury, so Vaulks should have got the nod. Can't disagree with the comments about Caton - when the chips are down (which they seem to be far too often with our other short...

Great on the ball but gives absolutely nothing when we haven't got the ball. But is he really that good on the ball ? Re: England 'fans'
Kieran Gibbs ; can't see him stepping up to the mark as a top international either,
there's a reason why he's behind Monreal in the Arsenal pecking order I suppose.
Just shows that Ashley Cole was probably our only truly consistent player over the last 10 years or so

Not sure about Baines, hopefully Shaw will develop into international quality. Clyne impressed against the Jocks but standards slipped in the last 2 games and when Walker came on he looked very bright. I don't think Delph is going to cut it at this level either, but then again who would confidently ...
